Perfectly located and owned by the sweetest family. The rooms are all individual and we have loved them all for different reasons. Most are spacious and all a stones throw from the main building. The staff are friendly and service orientated - nothing is too much for them - including calling a local shop to reserve some items I wanted...

First visit to il de re, and this was a lovely hotel at which to stay. Friendly staff, large and elegant rooms, easy parking. Comfy beds, good bathrooms - difficult to find fault with any of that. Two obvious downsides, charging 20€ for parking and about the same for breakfast. This latter is a really irritating aspect of French hotels,...

We stayed in two rooms at La Baronnie at the end of August for a long weekend from the UK. The location in St Martin is excellent and very quiet. My room (Pescalou) is easily the most beautiful hotel room I have ever stayed in. I adored the quirkiness of being in the eaves of the building, the wonderful upholstery...

The room was a reasonable size, a little cold (but not surprising given it's an old building). The bathroom was only separated by a curtain from the bedroom, which was unusual. The TV was small and too far away from the bed to be watched while lying down. The breakfast really annoyed me and put me in a bad mood...

In short: The grounds are nice, the staff are helpful, the room was ok, the breakfast was terrible and the owners were obnoxious. In full: We arrived at the Baronnie last Saturday afternoon. The receptionist was very helpful, showed us to our room (princesse pavilion) and recommended a number of restaurants to visit that night. We were reasonably happy with...

Certain guests do appreciate us and let us know about it by thanking us thoroughly. Others do not like us but what can you do about it... we cannot be unanimous. We'll tell Monsieur Lenotre (Famous Pâtissier ) that you do not like his viennoiseries, Lydie that her jams aren't good enough and so on with all the local producers!...

This is a beautiful old house right in the centre (1 minute walk to the harbour) up a quiet side street. It's quiet, relaxing with very friendly & helpful staff. Our bedroom overlooked the quiet side street & was perfect for our 4 day stay (wife thought the fixed hairdryer on bathroom wall not great though). Excellent breakfast in the...

Had a wonderful break in Saint Martin de Re. Staff arranged a pick up from La Rochelle airport so getting there without a car couldn't be simpler. La Baronnie is a fantastic old building that the owners have lovingly restored. It's less than a minute's walk from the port and all the restaurants but you would never know when sitting...

We stayed here in August for 3 nights. We had a family room which had a little separate room for children in bunk beds. The bathroom was quite small and had a window in the door so not ideal for privacy (with teenagers!) but manageable for a short stay. Unfortunately the room overlooked a street which leads down to the...

What a lovely place ! We stayed three nights at La Baronnie and it was just amazing. It is very close to the port but so quiet in the same time. Our room was very clean and spacious. We also enjoyed the homemade cakes for the breakfast! Thank you ! We will come back for sure !
