In spite of previous statements from the management the wifi still does not work in the rooms. When I asked the desk clerk he had a very poor attitude and just repeated the password. Which is not helpful when the wifi does not work.
Room was a good size and well presented. But poor quality and intermittent internet and no fridge were annoying. Breakfast was well presented but a second coffee machine would have been good. Overall it was an ok stay.
Very tired and very basic and small rooms which were quite dark The lift was so old and noisy and the wooden doors to reception masked the exit so you never knew when to get off so often ended up in the basement The pictures were definitely not any of the rooms we stayed in – our rooms were damp, dingy, basic old furniture and in need of renovation The town of Piazza Amerina has very little for the tourist/traveller, and be warned its very hilly!! Wi-Fi only worked in the main reception and the breakfast room It was clean enough but looked unkempt rather than dirty, shower had no power to it and took a long while to get warm Quite noisy in the morning once traffic started – particularly motorbikes Staff were really polite and helpful Very cold concrete floors (bring slippers or flipflops) Breakfast was very basic, 2 juices, machin4 coffee, a few cakes and pastries, pots of sweetened yoghurts, minimal basic cheese ham Short drive to Villa Romana del Casale which was why our company select this hotel but really think better could be found in the area…
I have looked at other reviews which are incredibly mixed. We were actually moved here after our original B and B overbooked so when we arrived didn't have a room for us, you can imagine, very stressful! Anyway, they had a connection with the Hotel Villa Romana and so we ended up there. Yes, it isn't the most aesthetically pleasing hotel, it's on the main road through the town, the lift is very clunky, and the room was totally bland. However, it was clean, well situated, we had no problems at all with anything, the breakfast was standard but perfectly fine, and most of all the staff were absolutely lovely. Someone else mentioned the issue of language, and yes, we do speak Italian so I don't know if there might be a difficulty with the staff not speaking other languages but one of them certainly did speak English, as I do sometimes have to check out my Italian vocabulary as I am by no means fluent! We had a very funny conversation about Italian hand gestures and what they mean. We found the staff really helpful. The place was really quiet, I think we only encountered 2 other guests and I couldn't really understand why. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the hotel. Maybe people now are just going more for B and Bs or apartments, or if you have a car, Agritourismo. I would stay here again, definitely, so want to give a good review to balance out some of the negative ones, everyone is obviously subjective in their reviews, we are all looking for different things. This isn't the most amazing place to staybut it provides a good base which is all you need when going around as a tourist. Plus, Piazza Armerina is very lovely, and the hotel is right on the edge of the centro storico. …
My company booked me into this hotel for 4 nights. Having read the reviews I was not sure what I would find. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. OK, so the furniture in the rooms maybe rather worn and the shower lacked power but it was clean and comfortable with everything you need. The breakfast was very Italian but as much as you wanted, brought to your table. I would happily stay here in future.
the room are dark and filty, a good location, well located, I would not recommend unless you know the kind of hotel you are going to. I suggested to really be concern about it. the breakfast is good not too many choices.
Good enough for sleeping when you are on your way to see Villa Romana. Good location and friendly staff. We arrived late in the afternoon ,after dinner time , but a plate of chease and ham was placed in our room to our surprise.
I was en route to the nearby Roman mosaics, to see them on the following day, and when I could not find the hotel I was looking for, kept driving by this one. It was late, it was dark, it was raining, and I needed a hotel, esp. one I could find. I parked, I went in, I got a room. I was the only guest in the hotel (Oct. 13, 2012). If you want to find the most basic Motel 6 type of hotel in Sicily this may be it. No charm whatsoever and the breakfast was indeed terrible. The internet is not available in the room only in the reception area. The evening clerk spoke no English; the morning receptionist a little but at least he was very nice. I cannot recommend it, except that I was able to get to the mosaics down the road by 9 am - very important. I had the whole site to myself until about 10 am. By 11, the hordes of buses and people had descended. They charged me 50 euros off season for a single. I think it was very overpriced. And nothing I would ever recommend. Unless its raining and late at night and you happen to come upon it.…
I and my husband stayed there in Nov 2011, it was close to Villa Romano Castel..I should have read the reviews first. This hotel was awful!! Breakfast if that is what they call it was two hard rolls ...Overpriced and don't expectbreakfast!! stay away!
