Reviews summary

Meliá Calviá Beach has earned commendation for its spotlessness, with guests frequently highlighting the pristine condition of both rooms and public spaces, despite occasional lapses in housekeeping. The serene ambiance and luxurious live entertainment contribute to a tranquil and comfortable stay, framed by the hotel's advantageous location close to the beach yet peacefully removed from the bustle. While the exclusive 'Level' upgrade offers sought-after amenities, some guests have voiced concerns over confusing policies and unexpected charges. Room comfort is generally celebrated, although there are some grievances regarding air conditioning and upkeep. In terms of service, opinions are split, with 'The Level' receiving praise for its exclusivity, contrasting with mixed feedback about the front desk. Value perceptions are polarized, especially concerning the cost versus benefits of additional services.

General impression of the service:
Impressive customer service already started prior to our arrival, when Level agent Hristo reached out with additional information. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Adrina, whom we had very pleasant conversation with while he took us to Level check-in. He was also always around the hotel whenever we need help, for example, call all for a taxi or guide us to where activities are held. Sam at the level and Marta at the main reception are both very customer-oriented.  Never too many questions, they helped us in terms of planning our excursions/activities during our stay, always with a heartwarming smile.

Room:
Wow! The view from our room was breathtaking. Definitely one of the best rooms in the hotel. Thanks Hristo for making this first mother & daughter trip (for my daughter's 13th birthday) as a magic memory of lifetime! We were also happily surprised to find complimentary water and chocolate cakes in our room. The room itself is modern, fresh and airy. We got everything we needed, also appreciated the Ritual products in the bathroom.

Food and beverage:
Level lounge is highly recommended! We ate daily breakfast and afternoon snacks. Everything was well-prepared and presented. It dose get a bit more crowded between 17-18 when free alcoholic drinks are offered. We did enjoy the soft drinks, sandwitches, and deserts.
We had halfboard with dinner included, which felt a bit less variety after 3 nights, but it did not make us enjoy the meal any less, thanks to the great hospitality of Irene and Mery. Irene is my daughter's favourite through the whole stay. She just go above and beyond with her genuine care. There is a dedicated area in the dinner restaurang for level guests.
Beach front location is non-beatable!
Mojito master class held by Pablo was really fun and children-friendly. We enjoyed it very much.

Our stay at Melia, Calvia beach that we have just completed has exceed all of our expectations and beyond. Myself and my wife both travel extensively around the world and our experience here has been one of the best. Originally we planned to only stay 2 weeks but because we were so impressed by the resort, it’s location, cleanliness and all the staff, we decided to extend for an extra week.
From the moment we arrived, check in was seamless and welcoming, the room was spotless and the view from our balcony was spectacular. In our rate we decided to go with the half board option which included a full buffet breakfast and dinner which Initially had us concerned that we might get bored of the variety at dinner time with it being repetitive, However we have honestly been blown away by the choices and variation each evening.
One of the highlights of our stay has been the staff at the Merkado Restaurant and a special mention must go out to the supervisor Carlos and his wait staff Saroya, Keke and Valentino. All of whom made our experience incredibly memorable and enjoyable. Carlos is constantly on his toes not only checking but making sure the food is replenished and presented perfectly. His enthusiasm is reflected through his staff because they are constantly on the go making sure your plates are always cleared and your glasses full.
All in all we would highly recommend this resort to anyone and would like to send out a special Thank you to Carlos, Soraya, Keke and Valentino for an amazing experience, one we won’t forget.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Arrived on a Thursday for a weekend trip, and amidst all of the uncertainty on what was allowed and what was not during this global pandemic, it was clear Melia (Calvia Beach) were extremely thorough about their new regulations but did their best to ensure your experience wasn't marred by this worldwide issue.

Andres, a manager called me a day or so before confirm the booking I made with Booking.com, and then greeted my group of 18 at the foyer to speak to everyone about how this trip may differ to normal holidays. He was helpful and was friendly.

The trip was absolutely brilliant, and made better by the relaxed pool area, good bar and amenities. The location is superb, bang on Calvia beach, directly adjacent to Nikki Beach.

We managed to make a great holiday out of our time there, and much of this was down to the common sense approach that Melia took to taking on business in the middle of a pandemic.

We had to wear masks in the common areas, and heading to our tables at the restaurants, and whilst standing at the bars, but aside from that, due to either being outside, in the pool, in your room, or at your adequately distanced table at the restaurant, no mask was required and it made for an excellent trip.

The beds are great. The wristbands for keyless entry to room and charging to your room across the island is convenient. Breakfast was good and those of us who sampled the food during the day too had no complaints.

Drinks around the pool were not of poor value either.

Could not fault this hotel at all, hosting an 18 male party is tough to get right, but we were treated like adults, and the respect was reciprocated. I would say that they could employ maybe a few quicker bar staff, as the waiting time was long sometimes, but that is the only con I can think of in a plethora of pros.

We loved this hotel , the food were fantastic we never got bored of the options , the cleaner came in the room everyday charged the bedding fresh towels everyday , it were a pleasure to come back to and even the shapes she made out of towels . The reception staff were helpful and pleasant at all times the restaurant staff did a amazing job keeping the tables clean and drinks arriving , we got a fantastic room with a lovely view of the bay and the strip , there is a hotel spa and gym as well as outdoor pools but we never used these facilities so I can’t comment we tend to stick to the beach which is only a grasp away from the hotel perimeter. The staff are quite strict on the mask wearing whilst your walking around , the only reason I give 4 stars is there is very few parking options outside the hotel for those who hire a car, overall i would book with Melia again I would recommend to anyone for a pleasant stay . Thank you media hotels you’ve been a blast ... I will also add we were originally booked into the sister hotel next door but with the COVID they seem to forget to inform us when we got there it were all closed off so we made our way to Calvià beach they took our paperwork and had it all sorted within half hour

Staying here at present. Booked Level Room but most of the extras and luxury’s in the room not supplied. Not sure if this is due to Covid or simply to save costs.. No welcome gift no dressing gown etc, no hairdryer. Sunbeds on the Level area are gone by 8.45am so forget it if you like a lay in. Not been a problem for us as constant noise all night on the Level Floor 10. People coming back as late as 4am making a racket banging and knocking on neighbour omg doors. Dogs then barking and then the cleaners rock up at 830am to start work. I bought ear plugs and very pleased I did.

Security here are very rude and unprofessional and was abusive and swore at my husband for not wearing a mask to walk 100 yards to toilet inside bar. I get it was an error to which he apologized but wearing masks is new territory to many and you don’t need to wear them to pop to toilets in the bars over here. We tried to complain to reception but they didn’t care and were totally disinterested. Extremely poor and not a good reflection on the Melia Brand.

We had booked to stay at the Melia in Marbella next year but seriously considering canceling this now after our experience with the staff here.

Sadly won’t recommend this hotel.

We are currently staying at this hotel and we are a little disappointed. Firstly no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, no mini bar, no robes or slippers and no hair conditioner. I have told them about the hair conditioner but the house keeping staff should have checked. We imagine the other items are removed due to COVID 19 which we understand and the low score for the review is not due to those items but thought I should mention it. The low score is due to the paper thin walls you can hear everything. The room next to ours had the tv on until gone 2 in the morning and it is all I could here. We are on the 9th floor and the hotel only has 10 but you can hear dogs barking at night I don’t think I have ever heard that in any hotel I have stayed where I have been so high. Also on our first day we asked the staff at the pool if you had to pay to use the cabanas and we were told no the second day we used them and were told they were 50 euros which they are not worth. For the beach we have no issue paying for sun beds the most we have ever paid is 25 euros however they want 50 euros for large sun lounger or 40 euros for two small ones. During my stay I received an email from Meliá to say I had been given 3000 points per night to spend which is 60 euros but it was not showing in my account I asked the reception staff and was told they could not help. If it is not showing in my account I can’t use them unless I call Meliá. We only stayed here as we booked a last min get away to have some sun after lockdown the grounds are lovely but beds expensive for beach and rooms not sound proof so if you have a room next to you that likes to keep the tv on you will need ear plugs

We returned last night from an 8 night stay at Melia Calvia Beach. It was our first holiday post pandemic and our first holiday with our little boy. We had a wonderful stay at the Melia. It was a very family friendly hotel, the only thing that wasn’t was the fact that we had to carry the buggy down a flight of stairs to the pool area. There is a wheelchair lift, however we didn’t use this as not ideal with an impatient toddler. It would be ideal if the hotel could just make this a ramp rather than stairs as over the week we saw lots of families carrying buggies up and down the stairs.

Our room was on floor 4 and be prepared for long waits for lifts. Some days we would wait 10-15 mins for a lift. A hotel of this size most definitely needs more lifts and also lifts strictly just for house keeping staff as often they would be in the lift with towels and trollies. We didn’t find the air con in our room was that great. We did ask reception to get it checked and apparently it was ‘fine’. Be aware that communal areas of the hotel aren’t that cool due to the new Spanish law on air con. We bought a mini fan with us, would definitely recommend!

Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Great selection of fresh fruits, hot and cold buffet, pastries, juices etc.

We preferred to sit round the Melia South Beach Pool as found this was a little calmer and had a brilliant sized kids pool for our toddler. This pool opened slightly later and the sunbed issue wasn’t as bad as the main pool. The pool areas were clean, the kids pool was often very sandy on the bottom so could be cleaned a bit more often.

We visited the beach bar a few evenings and enjoyed a cocktail or two. These were really good, priced around 10 euro a cocktail.

We got a taxi to Puerto Portals a couple of times and it was a lovely evening out with great restaurants and a lovely market on a Weds/Thurs over the summer.

Overall we had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!

Nice hotel and catered for most tastes and budgets. The hotel was right next to the beach, bars and restaurants but far enough away from the strip to relax but close enough walk there.

There are several pools, family, adult only and the Level which you pay more for (more on that in a minute). The staff are friendly and courteous, the food is of a good standard and the Buffett breakfast has lots of choice and is of a good quality ( I only stayed bed and breakfast). To buy meals during the day is fairly pricey but shops and restaurants are a couple of minutes walk down the beach so we’ll worth doing.

The Level: we looked into investing in this package but eventually decided against it. It was 30 euros per day for the level only and 50 euros for the level and a room upgrade. Our reason was that the hotel wasn’t very busy and there wasn’t any issues with getting sun beds, however if the place was busier I think I may have invested in the Level.

There is a good gym at the hotel and there are some fitness staff that do fitness (these guys were an asset to the hotel) classes most days. There are quite a lot of activities around the pool every day to keep children and adults alike entertained.

If you read my reviews, you’ll know I like wifi in my hotels and this place has decent wifi.

There were a lot more things I could add but I didn’t use them or didn’t experience it. I liked the hotel and its location and would definitely use it again if I visit the area.

Well, the exceptional service was noted even prior our arrival on emails and messages for some requests and questions we had before arrival. the responds were very quick polite and helpful. on arrival the reception team was very friendly quick and helpful who made our check in experience easy.
We choose to stay in a sea view room, the room itself is very comfy the bathroom is super clean and the bed is very comfy and big nothing more to expect from a fine hotel room! the view from the balcony is just WOW! you can see the small Island and the sea and the whole Magaluf Bay in front of you, the sun rises every morning from behind the small island and sea in front of you, found myself waking up every day at 5:30 to watch the beautiful sunrise!
our deal included a breakfast, 5 star breakfast I have to say!! and the food on the pools bars is also very delicious (may be a little expensive but worth it).
the room service is also quick, the Gym facilities are clean and new!
there is accessible paths for disabled people everywhere.
over all personal rating: 7 stars hotel, will definitely visit again.

Arrived at 1.00 pm informed our room wouldn’t be ready until 3.00 pm, we chose this hotel as we had a 6 year old and we wanted somewhere that did activities ie kids club, the first session which was 1 and a half hours started at 11.00 am which was ok but unfortunately evening kids club didn’t start until 9.00 pm our child is usually fast asleep by then so we were unable to make use of this! The hotel was extremely noisy we complained several times about this, they did offer to move us to another room but stated it will probably be just as noisy there? The drinks were very expensive ie €16 for 2 fruit juices, the hotel was clean but had a constant smell of sewage, on 2 separate occasions I found what appeared to be pubic hair in my breakfast, I would suggest if you are not intending to use the minibar you ask them to remove the items from it as we were charged £20.40 for items we never had, I disputed the charge but was ignored, the location is beautiful but the amenities around the hotel are limited the food in the several venues we used was substandard and well overpriced to the point where we tended to take a taxi out of the area in order to feel that we may get value for your money, 1 venue charged €12.50 for a single vodka and coke which had definitely been watered down, all in all we felt that we were robbed, taken advantage of and generally used as cash cows! I wouldn’t recommend the hotel or that part of Spain,

The hotel has a small, free parking area which they share with an adjoining hotel, which is usually full. There are also parking spots just outside the Reception (not part of the hotel) - free but usually taken (we got one here on the arrival day but but not again). If nothing's available, you'll just need to go further up the hill & find an empty spot. Not usually a problem but obviously no guarantees.
