We stayed at this beautiful hotel for one week during June, and our first impressions were very positive. As soon as you enter the reception area, you are greeted by stunning views of the sea and the pool through the large glass windows, which took our breath away.
Upon arrival, a friendly member of staff welcomed us and offered a refreshing welcome drink, which was a nice touch. Although we arrived at 11:30 AM and check-in wasn't until 3:00 PM, we were kindly allowed to leave our luggage and enjoy the pool area in the meantime.
When we finally got our room, we found it to be very clean, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable. However, we were immediately disappointed when we opened the doors to the balcony. We had paid for a side sea view room, but the balcony overlooked the road leading to the car park underneath the hotel, with people walking past. This was room 514 which should not be advertised as a side sea view, as the view was essentially the same as from the cheaper rooms.
I went to reception to express my concerns, and they were very accommodating. They offered us a pool view room for an extra €13 PPPN, but since we specifically wanted a side sea view, they eventually gave us a room on the 7th floor with the beautiful sea views we desired.
The staff at the hotel are all very friendly, and the room service is of a high standard. The cleaners work extremely hard, and this is evident in the cleanliness of the rooms and surrounding areas.
The pool area is fantastic, with plenty of sunbeds available no matter what time of day you go.
There are plenty of options for breakfast, and overall, the food is of a high standard, which pleasantly surprised us.
The hotel also has steps leading down to the sea where you are able to jump in and enjoy the sea with ladders enabling you to easily get in and out, which me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed.
We would 100% come back to this beautiful hotel and would recommend it to anyone.
PS. If you go down to San Matias beach, there are lovely restaurants and bars. You wouldn't even know how close you are to Magaluf, which worried us initially when we saw the hotel was listed as being in 'Magaluf'.

Located right on the cliffs, with breathtaking views of the sea. Great sunrises and sunsets. Although low season (4 nights booked at the end of October), an exclusive, very rich breakfast buffet was offered, with really everything you could wish for. Fresh fruit, various smoothies, fresh honey straight from the honeycomb, local food, very tasty coffee variations, etc. etc. You can't list everything here. Originally we wanted to eat out in the evening, but the buffet had convinced us so much that we enjoyed the buffet in the hotel in the evening. Wide selection of very delicious dishes. The room was very clean. The pool area has been cleaned continuously and the hotel manager has personally constantly checked on the right. The staff at reception or service was very friendly. This hotel and the area was a very big disappointment on every level. Expectations were high reading the previous reviews of this hotel but there is a but.
Myself and my husband were hesitant to book due to cost of the hotel but we decided to go ahead after going through the fantastic reviews. Is not cheap let’s be honest, room prices are above £240 just ridiculous knowing now what you get in return, basics! Ladies get prepared as you don’t have a single bottle of shampoo or body lotion in the room, for £240/ night. We thought at least the spa would be enjoyable when the weather is bad but for €30/person for an hour is nahhh, no thank you. Dear Elba Sunset Hotel you are ripping off your costumers big time!!!!!
Drinks and food are not cheap at the hotel either, €12/13 for a Gin (tonic not included) just an example. We went for a half board option (breakfast which is the SAME every day and dinner/buffet style-some nights we couldn’t eat because it was not appealing in the slightest ). People said in their reviews the food is fantastic! Is it? I don’t think so! No cash at the hotel accepted, unless you put a money down on the reception and they will set up a tap on your room so you don’t have to pay by card every time you order something.
The hotel is located on the top of the hill and a it is very steep, coming back up is a mission!!!! When you come out of the hotel and turn right you can get into Magaluf strip 5/10 mins walk, only clubs and fast food available here, don’t expect much. If you turn to the left again in 10 mins you can get into a restaurant area, lots of choices available and more civilised.
The pool area at the hotel is ok, very slippery bare foot. The pool itself is ok, could do with some cleaning on the bottom. Sunbeds are always available, no need to go out and putting towels down 7 am in the morning,
The staff at the hotel are friendly enough, not speaking much english. The WiFi is not great, keep dropping out in the room, only seem to be working properly around the pool.
In overall it’s an ok hotel and good location if you are after getting drunk and partying. Definitely not for relaxation or family trip. I wouldn’t recommend personally due to the price and the location ,is just not value for money.

This Hotel is a mix of approximations that cannot boast 4 stars just because the view is spectacular. The stars are given by the services that in this case, apart from food, are completely insufficient. You start with check-in which must take place after 3pm but if you arrive at 2pm you must wait at least until 3:40pm before your room is ready. In the meantime you could sip the welcome drink that, despite repeated requests, you are not offered (good thing since it is a hot mix of I do not know what). The rooms are spacious the de luxe Artemisa with balcony and 2 chairs have the particularity of having shower and toilet adjacent and separated by a glass structure. Zero intimacy. Moreover, the toilet does not have the purpose of the toilet, if you dirty the toilet, or leave it dirty with good peace of the other guest of the room or clean it by hand using toilet paper. Crazy to think I'm in a 4-star hotel. The fridge in the room does not work, we required maintenance on the first day, no results. Most of the TV channels don't work. Do not stay here, read the reviews before booking as I am sorry I never, booked going off the image of the pool and view and unfortunately ended up in an extremely noisy room just myself and my child. Got hardly no sleep and no help from staff to help resolve the issue. Can hear people drying their hair from other rooms the walls are that thin, booked an upgraded room with a sea view, given a room on the bottom floor and had to listen to footsteps and chairs being dragged from 7am until 2/3am every night of our stay, it was absolutely awful. Called reception at 2.30am on our first night to complain about being kept awake by the constant walking back and forth from the room above, furniture being dragged, wardrobes doors sliding back and forth, it sounded like they was in our room. A member of staff at Elba turned up at our door at that time knowing I was alone with a child, screaming and shouting at me in Spanish and was unable to speak English for me to dry and discuss with him the issue. He then stormed off and I was told by reception the following day he had come in and heard no noise when he hadn’t even asked to enter the room. Woman on reception then told me the man above had left the hotel that day and the noise should stop, this was a lie as I asked somebody else later that day if the guests above were still there after dtilk hearing constsnt noise and they said yes they are staying for the exact same length of time we we were. We had to move rooms at midnight after 1 night in a desperate try to get some sleep and after complaining again to reception and getting no help or even any effort to resolve, they basically told me i was making the noise up until I mentioned further cleaning issues and that they had previous awful reviews. Only given a room two rooms along on the same floor which was floor 1, the rest of the hotel was apparently full. Noise was the exact same so unfortunately we were forced to accept being kept awake all night for the rest of our stay and then woken up early to noise, we chose to spend the rest of our 2/3 days away from the hotel as much as possible. Cleaners don’t knock before entering, one staff lady threw bin liners on the floor and stormed out when I asked her to come back in 30 minutes as my child was still in bed at 8am as she was trying to clean around us, then got back later that day to a dirty room she had not bothered to come back. Also on a day of asking the bedding to be changed we was provided with stained bed sheets. The bathroom area is also really weird, no privacy at all to get dressed/showered, can see through the toilet door and shower door and through the glass to the sink etc, no privacy at all. Would not recommend and would never return as prices were not cheap at all and the staff couldn’t care less about their guests, have stayed in others in the area for much cheaper and a much better service. Also unable to pay cash at all across the hotel, unaware of this before arriving and after having money changed to euros. The pool view is really not worth it, take this as a warning if you are looking to stay here.

We came here as a couple, we had high expectations due to the stunning views and the great reviews, our first impressions were stunning hotel, we had a road view room, the room was just average, we couldn’t get one English Channel on the tv, we were half board, the breakfast was the worst we’ve ever had, the bacon you couldn’t cut it as it was rock hard, the scrambled egg was wet and the sausages were strong spicy taste, the pastries were nice but the cooked breakfast was poor, the evening meal was never appealing, we went in the bow restaurant once as it was included in our package holiday yet the lady still tried to charge us after we told her it was included, we noticed she said the same to other guests and some actually paid the amount she was asking when it should of been included, we found the drinks expensive. The evening entertainment is very low key, we didn’t relise there was any until a few days in, the location is further away than we thought and the hill is steeper than we imagined. When we were checking out to leave we were told we owed £38 euro when infact they owed us as we’d not spent the £100 euro we’d loaded up on the room. We’d never return to this hotel, we feel we paid a lot out for it and it no where near reached our expectations, the views are great and the pool area, reception but not worth the money just for that.

Pleasant stay gives a beautiful environment. Spacious and very comfortable bed. Very clean room with an amazing private terrace with an exceptional view [prestige room], well equipped gym with a plunging view of the sea. Extra and private access to the sea from the hotel by the cliff [ideal to come with floating fries if you come with children because quite a lot of waves and depth]. Nice and lively beaches of Palmanova (restaurants bar and shops). Mini golf is to be tested. Some downsides compared to the Inn: The reception should be better received and its sense of service improved. There is a shortage of staff to serve or offer drinks. Soundproofing is poor. Conseils: Grab some quiescent balls. Avoid half board. The quality of the evening buffet leaves much to be desired. The hotel was modern which is to our liking. The staff were all lovely except poor Adrian the morning omelette/egg chef. Frankly he had inadequate space to prepare effectively to cope with the demand he had - the pressure he was under every day would have made me surly to be honest. While communal areas were very clean, the bedroom standards weren’t quite up to scratch - something was missed every day , be that replenishing the tea/coffee or the complimentary water or cleaning the floor sufficiently or the toilet cleaning (why aren’t toilet brushes provided?) or not entirely changing the bed when we asked for a change. I have to say the breakfast had a really good variety and choice. The bacon is typical European bacon which was fine. It was funny being given a feedback form on our first morning there 😀 The gym was pretty good as hotel gyms go - it was a shame one of the three machines was broken and the free weights could have had a few heavier sets for us. All in all these were all minor issues and did not spoil our enjoyment of our stay. These are just things that could be easily improved.

In some ways in a fantastic location in some ways not. Lovely views but nothing really around the hotel unless you walk 10mins. Stayed bed and breakfast, and the breakfast was really poor, the worst I’ve had at a hotel. Poor choice, stone cold hash browns, beans etc. Even the fried eggs looked like they had been round in a washing machine. Staff in general were very good, polite etc. However, housekeeping was not great. Three day stay and didn’t manage to get the room cleaned once. Housekeeping turned up at 9:45am so we asked them to return in 10 minutes when we had left the room but they did not bother. We also booked a pool view and paid extra for this, but were allocated a pool facing ground floor room, which wasn’t fantastic. Drying your swim wear on a terrace to which everyone has easy access to was not ideal

We literally were at Elba Sunset last week the pools are not heated. Bit of a shock sometimes when you first get in but once your in they are all good and the weather is so warm anyway the pool being colder is refreshing haha. We personally found the sky pool warmer than the bigger pool.
There are more places to choose from in the Palmanova area.
