Leonardo Royal Hotel Mallorca Palmanova Bay is often commended for its friendly staff and spotless facilities, offering a range of amenities that captivate guests with their cleanliness and stunning sea vistas. Many visitors relish the hotel's proximity to scenic beaches and vibrant local spots, though some have noted the pool's size and temperature to be less inviting. While the rooms are generally spacious and offer breathtaking views, concerns have been raised about noise and maintenance issues. Guests have called out discrepancies in the 'all inclusive' package, advising caution with its actual value.

The Hotel is right on the boarder with Magaluf, but not affected by Magaluf night life.
First the bad things - the rooms are quite small, catering facilities are very basic and there are only enough utencils fo two. We had no large glasses, small cups, no bowls and work top space was very limited. We had a room over the childrens pool and the noise of the cascading water was very loud, add to that the music from the bar and general noise, and our room was not quiet. This was exacerbated by the shape of the hotel, funneling the sounds up to our room. Also the Wi Fi was hit and miss.
Even with that, I've given 5 stars because, the staff moved us the next day to a quiet room, gve us bowls, we bought two cheap mugs and some plastic glasses. They provided extra pillows almost as soon as asked and the staff were very plesant to a man / woman.
The view from the pool area / balcomies across the bay is exceptional. The rooms were cleaned every day. The showers in both the rooms we had were good. The beds were comfortable. We were self catering so I can't comment on the food. We could get English channels on the TV which was nice. The communal areas were clean, generally a good appearance all round.
We found plenty of things to do, a walk round the three beaches took an hour each way.
A bus into Palm was 5e, the taxi bacl e20 and was a good day out.
Walking into and around Magaluf in the day (we're both over 60) was supprisingly pleasant.
The beach is a short walk away and there are small shops close by for bits and pieces. Best breakfast was in the Scots Man bar, which is under the cliff just round the corner. Lots of bars along the front, again a short walk away. As per the title, we would return. But if you want a quiet room, go for a downstairs room, the view is not so good as there may be some trees in front of you. But none of the rooms get the sun, which in the height of the summer might be a good thing.

I booked this fairly last minute so wasn’t expecting that much but this is a lovely hotel.
Very clean and well looked after and all staff very friendly and helpful.
I booked self catering but the the 1st night we ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed it so upgraded to all inclusive which was very good value and with 2 kids (9 and 11) got our moneys worth just in drinks and lollipops.
The rules around the amount of alcohol you can have didn’t bother us as we aren’t big drinkers anyway but is one to watch if going all inclusive (not the hotels fault as is the law). You can get wine and lager with meals in the restaurant but have to pay at the pool bar/inside bar so not fully all inclusive but like I say this didn’t bother us at all.

Short work down a slight hill to the lovely beach area with loads of waterspouts and boat trips available.
Some lovely restaurants on the seafront too if self catering.

Small supermarket right next to the hotel for groceries/drinks etc.

You do have to get up and put towels on sun beds but it was very civilised and happened around 0800 so not ridiculously early. If you miss it or aren’t bothered about a subbed there are loads of chairs to sit on near the snack bar and the pool.

The only thing that could have been better is the pool area. The pool is clean and well maintained but there is very little space around the main pool area. (We didn’t use the kids pool as kids too old)
Our kids are good swimmers and a bit older so we were fine sitting on the top bit and just keeping checking on them but with younger kids it would have been a struggle to get beds right next to pool where you could see them all the time.

That aside we all said (including the kids) that we stay there again as the location is brill and the room was very modern and clean.

We walked to katmandhu theme park in 10 minutes which was good and has a small water park.

Great hotel and would highly recommend and oh the views are amazing!!!!

We have just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel. We had originally booked self catering but after the first day we upgraded at reception to all inclusive and we are so pleased we did. The selection of food on offer was fantastic, the kitchen staff clearly work tirelessly to ensure there is a wide selection which is tasty and presented beautifully too. It’s all inclusive soft drinks all day but only three alcoholic drinks at meal times included- this was more than enough for us however I’m not sure how they can keep tabs on everyone so it would be easy to have a couple more if needed! The bar staff were great and the cost of alcohol for the all inclusive guests is incredibly cheap compared to the rest of the resort. I’m unsure if the prices are the same for all guests however I’m assuming they are?!
The splash pool for children is fantastic and there were always sun beds available for us even after coming back from the beach in the middle of the day. This is what we liked most about this hotel it isn’t too big so still plenty of space in between tables and sun beds. The main pool is a little on the small size and gets quite noisy with lots of ball games but it’s a lovely pool and didn’t stop my son being in it all day everyday! The rooms are lovely and spacious, the beds really comfy!! The only thing I’d say is the front room backs onto the road so it is quite noisy with cars and vans etc and also people returning from nights out but I’d just recommend taking ear plugs next time! Rooms were cleaned each day and beds made we had clean towels most days too. Some comments have mentioned the cleanliness of the room floors and I agree this could be better I’m not sure if they were just mopped rather than swept then mopped but again this wasn’t a problem for us.
Overall we had a fantastic stay and will miss the incredible views which are absolutely gorgeous!
The kids entertainers are fab and work really hard we loved the mini disco each night however half an hour just isn’t long enough!! The main entertainment was typical of a hotel really but we enjoyed it!!
We are already booking to go here again as we had a really great stay. Thank you to all at this hotel!

Clean
Good location
Close to the beach
Entertainment staff are very kind and hard working. Kids love them!
My children loved the kids disco, we had to plan our holiday around it

Negatives
Food - dreadful
Cocktails - awful
Older lady on reception, clearly hates her job!
Entertainment staff, so over worked and clearly trying to make the best of a small budget
Rooms are small. Far to small for a family with a 4 and 6 year old
Lifeguard - well in glad we never saw anyone come into trouble, he sat on his phone all day. Pool is far too small for the amount of guests in the hotel. Feral kids booting balls across the pool hitting you ger kids.
Sunbeds all have towels on by 8am. Most peopel dont retun until about 3pm. Hotel have no rules in place for this.
Dont ask reception to book a taxi, they never book them.

I could go on, but you get the point.
Book a different hotel!

From the moment we arrived i knew what kind of holiday it was going to be by the big grumpy old man on reception!!! we got given a room which we walked in a first thing that hit us was a musty damp smell over powering the whole room! my daughter has asthma so we went back to tell him the room stinks we want to be moved which he said no we have no studios, so we refused to stay in that room an was given an apartment for the night untill a studio became available. next morning we was told we had 5 mins to move as the room needed cleaning so we packed our bits up we had used an put them in the case an moved to our studio...(which was nothing like the awful room they tried to palm us with). got to the new room an my daughter said did you get my bra an sliders from the side of the bed i said no didnt know they was there, (an expensive victorias secret bra with gems) so i went back the cleaner was there an of course she said they wasnt there! she has obvs kept the bra an pink fluffly sliders! 12 hours into our holiday!!

then there was the food....
everything was floating in grease, just a total mish mash of whatever they could find i think! the pork skewers were still raw in the middle an i got sick that night after already eating a piece!
the pool was situated away from the loungers an more like a pool whats in the gym, the the ugly metal railing around it what made it look worse! the pool bar staff an entertainment staff are brill tho! just not much entertainment at night or no music in the day an we did put our speaker on an got looked at funny but you can walkout i suppose an go to the beach front! apart from the thieving cleaners, raw food an moody reception staff we made it a good holiday but we will defo not
be returning to this hotel even if it was given to me for free theres so many nicer ones around! hope this helps you choose :)

A really lovely, clean and bright hotel. The staff at reception were very friendly and easy to communicate with. Julia especially was really lovely!
We were lucky enough to be given a room looking out to sea. It was amazing! Some other rooms look over the pool area and the sea too. The rooms were lovely and bright. Spacious and welcoming. The air-con was great and the bathroom had complimentary toiletries which was a lovely little extra. The towels were happily changed daily if needed and the tea and coffee was topped up too if needed.
There are quite a few stairs or 1 lift to various floors which can be quite hard work.
The food was variable but sometimes a little cold. The restaurant staff were very fast to clear away any plates that you had finished with and it was very clean too. The chef? behind the servery was a little grumpy if you did not put the serving spoons back where they belonged! - remember to put them back or you'll know about it!
The hotel is a very short distance from the beach (stairs / uphill) but it was an ideal location and quiet too. Situated at the end of the beach, you have access to some lovely restaurants and a really lovely part of the beach too!
We did not access the day time activities for the children. There were a few advertised but my daughter was not really interested and the evening mini disco felt a little boring. However there were pool tables and air hockey if you were happy to pay the 1 euro a time.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Myself and 5 year old son came here for just 5 days all inclusive. Arrived at the hotel at just past midnight, reception staff were so friendly, even offered to open the kitchen for us. Such a warm welcome! Our apartment was so clean and roomy. Had everything we needed, the cleaning crew were brilliant, providing fresh towels etc everyday and were really friendly. The food was plentiful however was a little bit repetitive but there was a good variety and all cooked perfectly. Desserts were a big hit for my son! Lots of snacks, drinks and ice creams all day long. The swimming pools were clean, big pool was very refreshing however we didn’t mind as the weather was so warm. The kid pool was great, a bit warmer with slides and water canons. Lots of sun loungers about. The kids beach hut was brilliant, the staff did face painting for the kids and colouring in there, the staff were great with them. The hotel is close to the beaches, the strip, just a €5 taxi ride to marineland if you get the taxi from the rank on palm beach front a 10 min walk away. Katmandu was an 11 min walk away which was great. Although it’s a short walk away from magaluf the hotel was very quiet at night.
Wish we stayed longer, will be returning next year! Highly recommend this hotel, something for everyone and it’s run really well. Thank you to all the staff!

Stayed here at the beginning of October. We arrived around 1:30ish and didn’t think our room would be ready but it was which was ideal after travelling with a 5 month old baby. We arrived to our room and we’re blown away with the views overlooking the bay, so glad we paid to have a sea view!! The room itself was spacious and very clean and everything you needed in there from microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge etc. we went self catering but ate out along the local restaurants each night. When we got into our room the phone rang and it was Julia from reception saying that we had left our passports at reception and that she’d keep them safe for us. Thank you :)
We visited the pool area most days and the snack bar was really good, the food was pretty decent and plenty of choice for drinks. The kids pool was absolutely freezing which my 5 month old daughter hated, I get it’s in the shade to keep the kids out of the sun but maybe they could heat it so it’s a bit warmer and enjoyable for kids. Daniel was fab with the entertainment, we learnt how to make sangria which was good fun even if it did taste like vinegar to me, my boyfriend did enjoy it though!
We didn’t eat at the hotel apart from snacks, we went out for breakfast most mornings and always ended up in the beach club along the beach front. Lovely food and lovely staff. Evening meals we went to the steakhouse 2 nights and again excellent food there, a few others along the beachfront were really nice aswell. We booked a table one night at the blue bar which is just down the hill from the hotel as it looked good and always busy but this was the worst meal of the holiday. I booked a table and made sure I requested a big enough table that the pram can go by, we arrived and the waitress had no idea, said we hadn’t booked which we did have as I had a confirmation email and then she squeezed us in the corner down the stairs even though we had a pram and we had to lift it down them. The meal was awful I had a steak with no steak knife which tasted like rubber and my boyfriend had a linguine dish which hours later made him ill so would not recommend this restaurant!
A few days into our stay I checked my online booking to see we had booked a one bedroom apartment and when I checked on the hotels website and seen the pictures I realised we had been given the wrong room and we’re actually in a studio room which we were a bit upset about as we had paid more money to upgrade to have the one bedroom apartment as there would’ve been more room for all my daughters stuff, I decided not to complain at this point as we had unpacked all our stuff and that it would be too much hassle to pack everything back up to move rooms but was annoyed about this as we had paid extra money like I said to have a room we wanted but didn’t get.
Overall though this hotel is great, great for families and there’s lots to do in the area. I would definitely return again in the future.
Thanks

We booked this holiday as a self catering holiday. The hotel was lovely and clean and the room spacious also. It was kept clean throughout our stay. We were one of the few guests who unfortunately didn’t get a sea view room our room overlooked the street at the front of the hotel but it is what it is. The only problem I found with the room was the locking mechanism on the door. The door could be locked from the inside to stop access in but if you pushed down the handle it unlocked straight away. On the first night my 3 year old child opened the door mistakenly to use the toilet which from a safety point of view worried me and so myself and my husband spent the rest of our holiday in the single beds in the lounge.

We ate a couple of times in the restaurant and the food was pleasant but I am glad we went self catering as we ate some amazing food in the restaurants along the beach front. This is the first time we have been on. Self catering holiday and made this decision due to the rule change to the all inclusive. We are not huge drinkers but believe this rule change has caused a lack of atmosphere in the hotel. The entertainers worked tirelessly but didn’t have much of an audience or people to interact with. Entertainment was usually finished by 10:30pm and by that point the minimal people that did stick around soon left. It’s sad because my parents stayed in an adults only hotel 5 minute walk away and the alcohol rule didn’t apply there.

The pool area is busy but we enjoyed it round the pool as did our children. We managed to get beds daily if we wanted them and loved joining in with the pool games.

The only other niggle was the inconsistency in pricing for eating in the hotel. The snack bar was well priced with great food. We did find that when using the restaurant we were charged a different price on several occasions for my 9 year old child. Some days we paid the full adult price and some times it was discounted. When I questioned this they did say there was nothing they could do because I didn’t have a receipt. But even at this time two different prices were given.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, the hotel is in a great location but I must say I have been to hotels that have a much better atmosphere and entertainment programme. The entertainers were fantastic but just couldn’t draw in the crowds.

Rooms clean and good enough, except for a leaky shower which flooded the bathroom, we’d made the reception aware of an issue in the room and the maintenance guy came, looked at it, said he didn’t speak English and disappeared without ever fixing the issue, so we didn’t bother reporting the flooding bathroom.
Location very good, bit of a hill but not too bad, Sea view is wonderful.
Danny and Michelle in entertainment are brilliant, they do a really good job and try involve everyone, sadly some of the staff were quite rude, one member cooking in the restaurant and one on reception both shouted at my wife or I for forgetting to wear a mask, which we usually did and all we needed was asking and they were put on immediately this was more infuriating as other guests and indeed some staff especially in reception regularly didn’t wear masks and nobody even asked them to put one on.
This holiday would’ve got 5 stars had we been self catering, sadly we went all inclusive, hence the lower rating, drink quality very poor, food quality no better, no variety, if you have children there is bread, chips, sometimes pizza and sometimes the pasta is edible sometimes not.
5 out of the 7 of us travelling suffered with upset stomachs for the majority of our stay and ended up eating out more than in.
My advice, it’s well worth a stay but only self catering, don’t bother with all inclusive total waste of money.
