This is a 4-star hotel with 4-star rooms.
It is in a good location just 20 minutes from the airport, traffic permitting (40.00 euro taxi fee).
We booked a superior sea view room 3rd floor, see the photos and make up your own mind about the view.
The location is 5 minutes from the main resort beach and comfortable bars, restaurants, and supermarkets be warned it's all uphill on the way back if you struggle with walking
The breakfast is very good value at 11 euro pp.
The Amra restaurant wasn't busy, however, you can not sit and drink at that location.
With only one main bar you may find it difficult to get a quiet spot in the evenings as the entertainment was extremely loud.
The adults bar on the top of the main building is a great spot to catch the sun without the noise of the main pool, however, they do not do food, and the infinity pool isn't as large as you may think. Overall and good spot for a weekend away without the kids.

We are already planning the next visit as this hotel never disappoints. The perfect family place. They treat you like family and cater to every need.
We had booked an apartment which was very spacious for 2 adults and 2 children and it had a large balcony and partial Seaview. We enjoyed our lunches on the balcony and being able to dry clothes and beach towels etc.

The breakfast buffet was plentiful, delicious, well organised and not at all chaotic. Our daughter is wheat intolerant and they had a gluten free table and toaster for her to use to prevent cross-tamination which is really important for any coeliac guests.

They have an adults only rooftop area with pool and bar and between midday and 4pm children are allowed to accompany their parents and visit the spa with pools on floor 3.

There was evening entertainment every night in the main bar and 2 nights a week children were allowed up to the rooftop adults only area to listen to the DJ and enjoy the view and chilled out vibes.
We made use of the onsite shop and launderette. It was €3 for a 30min wash that included detergent.

There was a lovely friendly atmosphere with guests ranging from all ages, couples, families, extended families and friends from a variety of different countries.
There were clearly a lot of repeat guests. The pool was a perfect temperature and had a baby section and 2 soft entries perfect for little ones.

There is a bar near the pool with delicious frozen drinks, ice creams and other drinks an snacks. The strawberry slush was a daily enjoyment. We were so pleased to see recycling opportunities all around the hotel.

We enjoyed a lovely meal in the buffet one night which that night had a Mediterranean theme. The theme alternates each night through 7 different themes.

The Balinese terrace was also a nice retreat with sun daybeds and a shower.

Kids club ran 3 afternoons a week with tshirt and facepainting opportunities as well as some arcade games.

We made it down to the sea at the edge of the property as well as to the public large beaches which were a short walk away.

We are so content at the hotel due to how well it is managed and look forward to our next visit. I cannot think of a friendlier place where we felt so relaxed and comfortable with our 2 young children.

We just enjoyed a week here, our first proper holiday since the March 2020. First impressions on entering the hotel were very pleasant surroundings, very clean, calm and well run.

We had a superior sea view room with stunning views which could have kept you in your room. There was a main bedroom and a second room with sofa bed for 2 and kitchenette. Balcony with lounge chairs.

The first few days of the holiday were cold and rained on and off so we spent a lot of time in the spa which was very clean and relaxing.
Second half of the holiday was brilliant sunshine and there was no shortage of terraces including the poolside terrace to soak up sun. Cannot overstate how stunning the views are. The beach is a few minutes walk away and near the promenade of shops and restaurants.

We had half board and breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold. Special mention to the lady on the omelette station.
Dinner was good too - themed nights including Spanish, Asian, Mediterranean, Mexican, International, Mallorcan nights. There was a good range of food and we particularly enjoyed the grilled section with fresh fish, shrimp and meats done on request. This was manned by Ganiz (John) who was brilliant. Special mention to Eusobio, the head waiter, who kept things running smoothly. Christina and Laura were extremely attentive and busy waitresses whose efforts did no unnoticed.

Our room was cleaned very well daily and Adrianna our cleaning lady dealt with issues like extra blankets without me having to go to reception although reception staff, especially Biel and David were very helpful.
Special mention to the lovely Charo who organised daytime activities and Bingo on a couple of nights. Her yoga sessions were quite relaxing and I will continue to practise some of the techniques learned.
It was a really lovely holiday at a beautiful place with good food and attentive staff.
Hope to return!

Certain staff were pleasant towards the end of our stay. I don’t get why I have to ‘perform’ so staff can like be enough to DO THEIR JOB!!!! Thus wasting initial days of a supposed relaxing holiday. I liked the fact I had booked a second hotel in Playa de Palma to conclude our visit to Mallorca, which has proved immensely better already.

Our room was next to the cleaning station. Supposedly a ‘sea view’ it was obstructed by the pool and suffer footfall traffic night and day from visitors to the pool, restaurant and bar. So zero privacy. We had to continuously ask for our room to be cleaned, wether we were on site or off during the day. Staff were either hostile fully or very reluctant. Not one experience of ‘above and beyond service’. This being our first vacation in a long while for my 70yo mother and 16yo son who needed a break for different and varied reasons was so disappointing. Being the only people of colour in the hotel that I could see, so already being of interest to other guests, I would certainly expect staff to do their job as a minimum instead of choosing to sink even further. I was told off verbally in front of other guests for inadvertently sitting in the wrong place when another white family did the same they were cosseted and facilitated. When eating at the supposed ‘a le Carte’ restaurant the starter (nachos) were visibly burnt (were ash rubbed off on my fingers) when I explained this to the waiter. He asked me if I had tasted it as it was a darker corn. I explained I was aware of darker tortillas but the ones on the plate were visibly burnt. When taken back to the kitchen I could hear the chef aggressively complaining in Spanish. The replacement plate came out with a price tag cooked into the meal. The main was no better. Restaurant management were lack lustre in their resolution and offered a free aperitif that I declined. On another occasion I was at reception and watched the member of staff take THREE lengthy phone calls in clear view of me waiting. Ultimately we made the most of our visit to Palmanova predominately out of the hotel or in our room which also defeats the objective of a relaxing break. Luckily as if I knew, I had booked a second hotel.

Everything about my stay at Ponent Mar was outstanding. The staff is extremely helpful if you have any questions about restaurants, transportation, laundry, etc. The food at the restaurants is reasonably priced and very good (for a family, the nightly buffet is a great option), the room we had was big and bright, and the beds were very comfortable. The pool area is clean with lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas, and the drinks at the bar are reasonably priced. The hotel also has one washer and one dryer in case you need to do laundry. You can easily walk down to the water where the beaches and many restaurants are so the location is excellent (about an 8-10 minute walk). There's also a bus stop about 10 minutes from the hotel and several buses that stop there go right to Old Town Palma. Highly recommend this hotel.

This was booked as a last minute short break , wow we were not disappointed in fact I can't praise the hotel enough and will definitely return.
When we arrived the room wasn't ready ,so we're able to leave luggage in a secure room, and use the facilities . Because we had to wait our room was upgraded , the reception staff could not be any more apologetic and helpful if they tried . Our room had the most fabulous view , and there was a well equipped kitchenette. The room was modern, clean and bright. There was full sized hand soap, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. The beds were also very comfortable and even the sofa bed in the lounge was comfortable for our teenager.
The pool was clean and there were plenty of sunbeds, but also sun terraces around the hotel and a roof pool with fabulous views.
The Amure restaurant situated in the hotel served excellent food at reasonable prices , staff were friendly and polite at all times . In fact the staff throughout the hotel were always pleasant and friendly. The entertainment was also very good with daytime activities too. We were also given a breakfast box as we had a very early morning flight ,at no extra charge, which consisted of fruit, yogurt ,orange juice ,sandwich and cake.
If you get the chance give this hotel a try you won't be disappointed, with the stunning views , cleanliness and all round fantastic hotel .

This hotel is definitely the best positioned in Palma Nova, it is on the edge, elevated so you have surrounding sea views. One side is Palma Nova and the other is Son Caliu. It is a 15 min drive to Palma and 7 min drive to the amazing marina, Portals Nous which is buzzing with lots of bars and restaurants and of course many super yachts. There is a night market in Portals on a Wednesday which is great. The hotel is modern, very clean the staff very friendly. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have seen, lots of variety and completely stocked until 10.15 am when they shut. The strip of Palma Nova begins at the bottom of a 2 min slope so there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. There are 3 continuous beaches in Palma Nova and it is quite touristy, packed with tourist shops bars/restaurants. At the bottom of the hill before you get to the beach there is a small harbour where you can rent jet skis and hire boats.

We booked here for a week after hearing good things about Ponent Mar, and we weren’t disappointed.

The studio we had on the 7th floor was beautiful and the view even better. The bathroom was gigantic (loved the huge shower). The cleaning staff were so friendly and did a super job. Providing both a table for eating as well as a chaise lounge on the large balcony was a nice touch.

The hotel has everything you need. The family pool was welcoming and the highlight was the daily water aerobics with Toni - he led a fun tabata workout with pool noodles followed by 3 dance songs that had everyone (kids and adults) smiling and singing along! Thanks Toni! There were also yoga and CrossFit classes on a gorgeous ocean view terrace shaded by a huge tree. The rooftop adults only pool overlooking the bay was spectacular.

When we first arrived the pool chairs were being “reserved” for hours by people not using the pool, and there weren’t enough for everyone. On our third day, the management appeared and removed all the towels etc from the “reserved” chairs. And from then on the problem disappeared! :)

We also really enjoyed the newly renovated indoor spa and pools, which kids could use from 12-16. They have several pools with varying temperatures and water massage features, a beautiful tiled steam room/hammam and sauna. We often had it all to ourselves, as most guests used the pools outside. The aromatherapy massage treatment at the spa was also out of this world.

It felt like this end of Palmanova had a very different, less tacky/wild vibe than further down the beach. There were many good restaurants within walking distance with lots of local vacationing Spaniards eating there too. At the hotel itself there was a really nice mix of guests from all over - Scandinavia, Germany, France, UK, Spain…not just one dominant nationality, which we liked a lot.

The hotel took COVID restrictions seriously and the other guests seemed to respect them as well. You could get an antigen test at the hotel daily at 13:45 if you needed one for travel, which is a huge help since testing centers often have waiting time or limited hours.

The one small complaint we have is that the breakfast buffet only offered orange juice from concentrate and not fresh squeezed juice. It’s not a deal breaker of course, but when you come to Mallorca where wonderful oranges are abundant, you hope for the real thing.

Thank you Ponent Mar for a relaxing and luxurious week in the midst of such a challenging year, and thanks to all the staff for making us feel welcome. We would definitely return again.

Thank you once again for an exceptional stay Ponent Mar team. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 10-12 years and it absolutely never fails to disappoint! Whilst there, we made our first ever complaint, as another guest was noisy (young people clashing with family holiday, couldn’t be helped), and the hotel managed this brilliantly. They moved us to a suite, with the BEST views.
Ponent Mar is the perfect hotel in terms of location. It’s a couple of minutes walk to the beach, just a few minutes taxi drive to Portals. The pool had a brilliant sanitisation system for the sunbeds which I was really impressed with. There was live music on the roof terrace twice per week. Ordinarily children are not allowed on the roof terrace but the exception is when there is live music, so the parents don’t miss out! It was a little piece of heaven!
This is just the perfect place to relax. It’s not an all singing, all dancing all inclusive, and it’s not a Magaluf party hotel. The spa is fantastic, and again recognise that parents sometimes can’t leave their little ones behind, so they allow children between 12-3.
We will of course return to this hotel, likely many many more times!

If you are looking for a relaxing hotel that is spotlessly clean with magnificent views, then Ponent Mar is the one for you!

This hotel is situated about 15 mins from the airport. It is up a steep hill so that is something to bare in mind but also means the views from the hotel are absolutely incredible. We ate in the beautiful outside dining area the whole stay and it was amazing to watch the airplanes flying over the island and the waves in the ocean. Food was really tasty, lots of variety with a theme every night, but a bit too salty at times!

We felt that the poolside bar could have served more lunch time snacks, sandwiches etc. We had to go to the Amura restaurant to order chips separately to our toasties so that was a bit limited. Didn’t eat there other than that as it was very expensive!

The pool area is lovely with modern decking and chilled out music. Really comfy brand new sunbeds and parasols galore! We thought it was lovely that the lifeguard had a variety of balls and inflatables for guests to play with in the pool. Water aerobics and fun games daily. Pool toilets kept really clean, although these are down some steep steps again.

The room was lovely, quiet and clean with a big walk in shower. There were a few parts of the room that did look a bit tired, but nothing major. Beds really comfortable. The sofa bed wasn’t made up upon arrival and we had to ask for bedding at reception, so that would have been a nice touch if it had been ready. All receptionists were really kind and accommodating.

We loved that the hotel was big on the eco friendly stuff, with recycling bins everywhere. WiFi is really good.

Tiny recommendation, drinks (cola, water etc) are so much cheaper at the shop downstairs than at the bar, so go there!

Nighttime entertainment wasn’t up to much, just one person usually singing or doing a quiz, if you have kids there isn’t really a proper entertainment area so it doesn’t appear they do shows or space to dance like in other hotels. Sometimes it was up on the rooftop which wasn’t clearly advertised and we had a laugh with some other guests that we’d sat downstairs waiting and missed it!

Overall we had an amazing time! Definitely recommend for a chilled time!

It really all depends on what you want. If your looking for full on kids club ponentmar probably not the place for you. If you just want a little bit of children's entertainment on a small scale it would be fine for that. The pool is massive which the kids love. They have one or two entertainment staff i think they do things like paint your own t shirt and crabbing down at the rocks. Hope this helps.
