Arrived with my family of 10 adults and 3 children a treat in lieu of my husbands impending 60th birthday. A 5 day all inclusive holiday (2 adults of which had already arrived from Australia as a birthday surprise). Staff at reception went above and beyond in ensuring surprise went to plan. I had booked 1 swim up room and 3 pool view rooms and honestly could not have been allocated better rooms... We had room 1017...enviably the best room in the entire hotel.. Being an ex travel agent even I was super impressed. Next to kids water pool and bar.... this became the family party room. From our swim up pool to kids adventure pool and main pool with water pillow... amaaasing.....Our entire family young and old had an absolute ball. All staff from bar to restaurant to lifeguards to cleaners... Everyone a total credit to zafiro hotels cannot single anyone out. Restaurant and food varied and amazing.. Although we ate ala carte 1 night we were not overwhelmed.. Found it hard to beat main restaurant. Our one and only minor criticism was the nightly entertainment... Not great... Mibi bit of somethn for adults would be appreciated? . Possibly karaoke or somethn? But after an amazing family day at pool this was not a biggie . Zafiro.. Keep doing what you are doing.. Our family have already started a savings account for next years holiday.... (coz were not paying next time 🤣) Most defo be zafiro 👍.... Thank you so much for the amazing memories made......

Generally we thought the hotel was great and we had a very enjoyable time.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

Food was generally good, some nights better than others but there was always a good meal to be had.

Drinks as mentioned further below were really excellent.

The main swimming pool is brilliant for children and therefore the parents as well, the whole pool has a depth of only 1M so for children of about 8 years old and upwards it’s a very safe pool as they can stand in all parts. There is NO deep end.

The room was fine and had two TVs although we didn’t really use them. There was only a tiny bin in the bathroom and no bin in the bedroom which was a bit annoying. The bathroom in particular was not very well lit and was quite dark. The bedroom also didn’t have great lighting.

The location is very good and not far from the airport, the beach is a short walk and there are shops and bars also a very short walk. We needed a Pharmacist and there were two a short walk away. There is a shop just outside the hotel as well which I think is owned by the hotel as well.

One evening there was no water at all for 30 minutes. I have no idea if this happens once per week or once every year but it did happen.

The evening entertainment we thought was extremely repetitive. Although every performer was different, they more or less did the same thing which was acrobatics and balancing etc, in ten nights it seemed this was the style of act for 6-7 nights.

You can have one evening meal per week A La Carte, it wasn’t really anything special and was quite slow to come, I wouldn’t really bother with this.

One evening at dinner we asked a waiter if he had time to take a photo of us, he said he didn’t have time and walked away. Myself and my wife looked at each other in disbelief, not something we have experienced before.

Two things I would definitely advise you do, which we did, both will cost you more but are well worth it:

1: Pay for a room which faces inwards, pool view. Otherwise you could be facing a road, a car park or a derelict patch of land.

2: The all inclusive, while it will obviously cost more, offers a wonderful array of hot (excellent coffees from the lounge bar) and cold drinks including drinks for children such as juices and milkshakes. All drinks are premium and the soft drinks such as Coke and Fanta come in glass bottles.

The hotel is great for families. The food available in the buffet was of a good standard and always lots to choose from, with a lot of options being cooked fresh in front of you. The only downside was slow drinks service in the restaurant, but it wasn’t a big issue.

The A la Carte restaurant that you get one meal at on all inclusive is actually just a section of the normal restaurants seating outside which was a bit confusing for guests knowing how to book. The same goes for advertising that you could choose the ‘Bistro’ menu at lunch time and therefore have table service. Once you find out these things, the food and service is great.

The sunbed reserving when the hotel is full was a problem for some guests as not fully explained. In case you are booked to go and are reading this…if you wish to reserve a day bed or sun beds round the pool then you can do this between 9-10am without you towels being removed. As the popular positions get taken quickly, what people do is place their towels out from as early as 7am and leave 1 person with them until 9am so that the lifeguard does not remove them.

Something to note…if you prefer a hotel mainly filled with British people then this hotel is not for you. There are a range of nationalities who holiday here.

Highly recommend booking a pool view room at least as the standard rooms overlook the road or car park. If you can stretch to it then the roof terrace rooms with hot tub are fantastic. We upgraded once we were there. The swim up rooms looked good if you like a quieter bit of pool. You get a small plunge pool area and then a stretch of pool runs along in front of the plunge pools. They do not link with the main pool though, so if you are expecting to step off your terrace and swim out to the main part then that is not possible.

If you have small kids who like a mini disco then the mascot comes out by the pirate splash pool/stage at 5pm and they do some dances, but the evening mini disco is after the main entertainment finishes at 9.45pm roughly and lasts for about 3 songs. All entertainment/noise finished by 10pm.

All in all, if you want a family friendly hotel with great pools and food on offer just a short transfer from the airport then the Zafiro Palmanova fits perfectly. The beach is a short walk away, as are lots of bar, restaurant and shopping options.

This is the best run Hotel I have ever stayed in . The food, service and cleanliness was out of this world. All the staff are so friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this hotels to family's with small children and babies and they have incredible facilities. The food and beverage options are fantastic and they use premium products . The hotel operates as self catered , half board and all inclusive . I had the fully inclusive package and was totally satisfied with everything. Each room has a cooktop, toaster, fridge and cutlery/glasses ... The hotel is located only a 5 minute walk from Aldi and also has a small supermarket on site. I recommended going half board as the food is so good though even bed a breakfast works with all the facilities and restaurants within a short walk of the premises. Flawless 8 day stay.

Me and my fiancée stayed here for a week as a first real summer holiday since 2017 and generally, this hotel did not disappoint. The interior layout and decor was top Quality. It had real character and felt good each and every time we walked through the communal areas.

We picked a “basic” room package which meant we were on the ground floor. Our room was located at the very end of the corridor and had a balcony which unfortunately overlooked the rear car park of this hotel as well as the children’s play area. It wasn’t very private so I would advise booking a room with a pool view as although you still won’t have privacy on your balcony, you will feel like you have a better view of the hotel and what’s going on. The room itself was great. The bed was super comfortable and the room itself was very spacious.

The restaurant served generally a good variety of different foods and it was lovely. There was only one night were my partner chose chicken and there was a piece which was still pink inside. This out her off getting the chicken again. It is difficult because the cooks are under a lot of pressure to ensure food is present so it can be hard to critique as it was just the one time.

The main pool was a decent size and had around 10 bed loungers but you have to be up pretty early in the morning to get them! You should get a lounger if you’re up and down by around 9am.

One major downside was the inconsistency in the staffs manners. Sometimes the staff, whether it be at reception, bar staff or restaurant staff, would be really friendly and smile. Other times they would be blunt, direct and… well not smile, making us feel like we were an inconvenience. I would draw particular attention to one of the chefs who would go around whilst we were trying to pick food, and more or less push in front of you to try clean a ridiculously small area which probably didn’t need cleaning. She never smiled and it really frustrated us at times. Unbelievably rude.

The hotel itself was also kept very clean by the cleaners and the communal toilets were exceptionally clean… really positive part of our stay.

The hotel was located in close proximity to the beach and local shops, bars and restaurants… another positive to the hotel.

Overall, our stay was excellent and we would for sure stay again… perhaps in a different hotel room where we have a pool view or better still, the top floor!

We have been going to Mallorca for 20+ years & stayed in many hotels, Villas & apartments and I can say we found the Zafiro Palmanove to be one of our best stays on the island. The hotel was superb from the second we entered at 2am the check in staff made us very welcome with food and drinks. The rooms are are large with a separated bedroom/sliding doors, with a large bathroom & small kitchen, most importantly the cleanliness' of the rooms are very good. The pool areas are perfect but the kiddies pool is very cold with the larger pool it was much warmer maybe heated? Our stay was half board the food was great with lots of variety each day - the staff are very helpful amazing - location is perfect within a 5min walk to the front/beach. would definitely return.

Dear Tom, Thank you for taking some of your valuable time to share your impressions about our hotel. We are all thrilled that you enjoyed every aspect of your stay and that our team members added to this experience positively. We will not hesitate to pass on your kind comments as they encourage us to continue to maintain the high standards we set ourselves. We are well aware that there are always things that we could improve in our hotels, but the heating of our pools is also something that requires a lot of energy and thus has a considerable impact on the environment. As a company that is committed to environmental protection, Zafiro Hotels is currently studying the most appropriate and environmentally-friendly solutions for our pools, such as heating them using biomass or other sustainable alternatives. These solutions are already being used in five of our hotels. We hope and trust that we will be able to extend these improvements to more hotels in the future for the enjoyment of our guests. However, we are pleased that you were able to enjoy all our other services and facilities and that we may welcome you back again in the future. We hope to welcome you back to our hotel soon. This was our second visit to this hotel after our first visit in August 2022.

Generally we had a wonderful time and I DO recommend this hotel. We were happy with our stay overall.

On both occasions we paid extra for a pool view room and I do recommend this if you have the budget because otherwise you are facing outwards and you could be looking onto the road or a car park.

The beach and shops are very close and a taxi to Palma will take about 20 minutes and I think cost about 25 euros.

We thought the food was better in August 2022. Generally speaking the dining room is not a particularly relaxing experience, it’s a very family friendly hotel and we also have children but there was a regular clattering of cutlery falling to the tiled floor and there was often food spilt on the floor which wasn’t cleaned up as quickly as it should be. At peak times the buffet area gets very busy.

We were all inclusive both years and the selection of drinks available is great.

On arrival the sofa bed was not made up at all as a bed and we had to phone to ask for this to be done. The booking was made for a family of four months in advance so the sofa bed should have been made up in advance of us arriving, as it was last year.

On one occasion I went from the pool area into the bar without my t shirt on, it was so hot, the lady at the bar told me I must wear my top which I said was fine and then again said “next time with the top” which I said of course no problem, however once was enough, I am not a child. However there is no sign whatsoever asking men to wear a top and throughout the week there were men at the inside bar getting a drink without a top on so if Zafiro are going to have a rule you should have a sign to say so and also be consistent, not say to one customer you must wear a top but not say it to anyone else all week.

Parents with young children should note that the hotel playground is easily accessed from the hotel car park which in turn is easily accessed from the public road. I would personally not recommend this playground for younger children unless supervised at all times.

The swimming pool is excellent for all ages.

The evening entertainment was more or less exactly the same as last year and some of the acts are quite similar. In my opinion the evening entertainment is more suited to children and teenagers.

We have just returned from a week at Zafiro Palmanova. It our first family holiday (kids 7 and 2 years old) and had a very good time overall.

Positives:

Our pool view room was cleaned daily and was really spacious (we had a corner room which I believe has a bigger area than others).

Food in the buffet restaurant was varied every night and always hot. I liked that we were served drinks at the buffet and all came in glass bottles, not draught. It just gave the hotel a slightly more upmarket feel rather than self service machines. Be warned though, they buffet can be pretty hectic at times and with toddlers running about. The restaurant feels slightly small for the numbers.

Pool area was a decent size with plenty of sun beds and our 7 year old daughter spent ours on the inflatable bubble! The pirate ship pool was always very cold until it temperature really increased late afternoon.

Negatives:

The biggest let down for us was the Mini Club. Firstly, the activities were very poor from playing board games to "medal games" e.g. throwing a ping pong ball at paper cups to see how many they can knock over, throwing hoops over cones, just very poor. These activities are advertised as Mini/Maxi club but what older child would want to do anything like that?! I should say my daughter at 7 was by far and away the oldest at the Mini Club but is it any wonder with activities like this on offer...

BUT the biggest disappointment of the Mini Club was the staff. We found them to lack any sort of personality and to be quite honest they looked very fed up and uninterested. Usually staff that run kids clubs are very welcoming and bubbly but that wasn't the case here, they barely spoke or even smiled.

Overall we did have a really good holiday but I think for the price we paid for 1 week All Inclusive there are much better options out there.

Lovely hotel overall but a couple of things could be improved. We booked late so only had one room option, which turned out to be overlooking the bins and car park. We asked about an upgrade but were told to ask again in a few days which we did. There wasn’t one available so we made do. The room was noisy, bins being emptied, people talking outside, you could hear people walk down the corridor in flip flops. Another couple we spoke to did complain and got moved (so there must have been rooms available) If we did the stay again we would definitely get a swim up room so we would could guarantee to have sun loungers - we couldn’t get beds around the pool for the first 2 days of our stay as we followed the rules so we ended up having to get up early and sit on our beds while the other person got the kids ready. If you have rules then I think they should be stuck to! From what I remember you weren’t supposed to put towels down before 9am and if you hadn’t been back to your bed for a certain amount of time then the towels would be moved. We got back to our beds one day to find another family on it but then other mornings we would see people put towels down and not be back until near lunchtime.
Only other issue was the food and something that I think could be addressed easily by the hotel. I have a dairy intolerance so on my first day I asked if there was butter on the pasta. The chef said if I asked one of the chefs they would walk around and tell me what I could eat - not sure which chef he was talking about because I couldn’t find one that would do that. He said there was no butter on the pasta but it’s an important ingredient so they do use it a lot. The next day I asked another chef who just pointed at the description that was above the food (meatballs for example!) but there was no dietary information on there. This would’ve made all the difference if they could just put that info on the labelling as I felt like an inconvenience when I asked. I gave up on day 3.
The positives were the location - steps at the front of the hotel lead down to the beach and shops. A few restaurants but plenty more if you keep following the beach.
The staff were lovely overall. Kids club was great for my little one who is very shy. I think the most kids I saw in the club at one point was 10 and then a few more joined in for the outdoor games.
All inclusive for drinks was great. Good selection and plentiful!

We stayed here for a week with our daughter, her husband and our twin grandsons who were 11 months old. We booked a swim up room for them and a premium room for us and were allocated rooms almost opposite each other, which was very convenient.

The additional cost of the swim up room was easily justified by the ease of access to the almost private swimming lane which was so convenient with the twins, and this room had a huge veranda for us all to sit on and the twins to play.

Staff in the restaurant were amazing, very helpful and attentive, they simply couldn’t do enough for us, a big thank you to Oscar, Tete, and the rest of the team. We were on an all-inclusive package and enjoyed the food, particularly the a la carte lunch menu as buffet food, even with freshly cooked main courses can get a bit boring after a week.

Bar service was very good, I’d recommend drinking the Menorcan gin, Xoriguer, rather than your usual UK brand, and the chilled rose Spanish wine was refreshing.

All in all a great family holiday
