My wife and I, along with our teenage son, stayed for 11 nights, 12 - 23 June. Room 002.
The hotel is spotless, the grounds are well maintained, the rooms are comfortable, but, as many previous reviews have stated, it is the staff which make...More
TA jumps from Average (3 Star) to Very Good (4 Star), my Rating for the Playa would be in-between at Good which I guess would be 3.5 Star, were it available.

Hotel room was lovely, nice bed and bathroom etc. I was dissapointed and quite annoyed that my 3 year old daughter had to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed when she had to pay full price! We stayed all inclusive and found that some of...More

We've just returned from a 10 night stay, after returning for the second time.
We stayed in a select semi private pool room, shared between only 10 rooms, with a deck which was worth paying the extra for. The swim-up rooms also look great and...More

We stay in a standard twin room with our 8yr old. The twin beds which are each about four foot wide, are normally pushed together to create a massive double albeit with a gap between the two. The room additionally has a double sofa bed. So there is space to have it as a child's bed or a sofa and space for a cot. The vast majority of rooms in the hotel are standard twins, and most are occupied by people with children. Definitely enough space for you guys.

The "water park" is located close to the Hotel and it's sister hotels. There is a pool with a couple of slides and a day ticket includes food and drink. AI guests still have to pay but at a reduced cost compared to HB. Personally with an 18 month old, I wouldn't bother. The hotel has a baby pool, and the main pool slopes very gently so is still safe for toddlers. Plus a five minute walk away there is a small pool with a couple of slides for toddlers/young children and a play park. With regard to your choice of AI or HB, it depends on how much you drink ! We have visited a number of times HB over the last few years and have typically had lunch at the pool bar, had wine/beer with our evening meals and each time we have spent less than what it would have cost AI. That said, we aren't big drinkers and I guess a few rounds of cocktails/spirits etc each night would soon balance it up. With the exchange rate being close to a euro to a pound, and prices being similar to at home, it's fairly easy to work out what's best for you.
