This is a great little family-operated hotel suitable for guests with children. The grounds are perched high above the valley, providing excellent views in all directions. Play areas for children include toys and comfortable swinging chairs for adult supervisors. Dining room windows provide dramatic sunset views. The town itself has a few shops, but nothing special. Every room is unique,...

What a beautiful hotel and outstanding food! We had room #23 and the bathroom was the most unique ever for a hotel and the room had a view from three sides plus they used the original 400 year old beams which provided such character. Modern meets old. Small town and was there as part of hiking group and stayed in...

We stayed there last summer and it was absolutely fantastic. The dining room had amazing mountain views and we just could not leave the table at breakfast- great food and great view. The village had a great traditional Swiss Village vibe and it was just so tranquil and well, surreal. Will go back for hiking. Love love love it.

We planned a 3 night stay at Hotel Meisser for our anniversary several months in advance. Unfortunately when we arrived at the hotel we were informed that our booking was lost and that they could only accommodate us for the first and last nights of our stay. They were kind enough to offer us an upgrade the first night and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guarda, a cluster of very old intricately painted farmhouses with flowers at every window, nestles on a mountain shelf high above the Engadine Valley - one of the most picturesque hideaways in Switzerland. Happily, there is a gem of a hotel to match the perfection of the village. The Hotel Meisser is beautifully situated on a promontory overlooking the expanse of green valley below, with a terrace where guests can enjoy refreshments an fine food. The hotel, a typical Engadine farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century. Throughout the hotel there is an old-world ambiance achieved through the use of antique chests, pieces of old copper, oil paintings, and baskets of fresh flowers everywhere. The main house offers simple accommodation in rooms with shower or bath, and tree rooms afford memorable views an enjoy their own balconies. ... more   less
