Location of the hotel is lovely, close to nature yet very near the town center and restaurants. The bike storage area is handy for cyclists. Unfortunately the room we had was a huge disappointment. Entering the room we were met by an old an eerie smell, the curtains were the worst as they smelled of smoke. The room lacked proper lighting. Furniture and bathroom were very old (ok condition, but not providing value for the price we paid for the stay). Our room had access to a private seating area in the garden, which was nice and much needed to escape from the cave. While location is quiet we did hear quite some noise from other rooms as the building is old. Breakfast during covid times was takeaway, but quite good considering the circumstances. OK place if you only plan to sleep there, but we were not exactly looking forward to returning to our room after a long day outdoors

Me and my nan travelled here in 2018 as a holiday package with edward's coaches, the reception was tidy and clean. I was a little disappointed with our room as it was quite dark and eerie, on the second night we discovered half a dozen moths by the window sill and a few had been sat on the ceiling! There were quite a few bugs on the ceiling too. The bathroom was nice and the corridors outside of our room were quite dark too but not too bad. The restaurant was pretty confusing as we walked in but had a split off section for the holiday package travellers, the food was adequate but could of been a lot better.
Overall, the stay was ok but could of been improved.

We travelled to the Netherlands at the start of the school holidays & were caught up in a huge backlog at Folkestone awaiting a train at Eurotunnel. This resulted in getting to the hotel at 3am, we advised reception in advance who were extremely helpful & friendly & they arranged our arrival with the night security. Everything was handled smoothly & our room was very comfortable & clean. All ground floor rooms had their own small patio with seating. Breakfast was served in a large spacious separate pavilion, with a good choice of food albeit a little sparce with vegetarian options.
There is loads of car parking space, & bicycle storage; & everywhere appears to be wheelchair accessible.

The socialdemokratisk hotel has no working kitchen. The food come from somewhere Else, and all they do is heating it.
There is no real menu.
The quality of the food is horrible. It looks like canned food. The taste is salty.
If you insister on dating there, be the the minuts the restaurant opens, or you Will be met by empty bowls and cold french fries.
They were oftes runs out spoons, knives etc.
And if you ask for anything the cook has always just left.
Be Wiese find yourselves another place to get some decent food.

We stayed here for two nights in a suite. We had better service, facilities and comfort than we did in a well known chain hotel in The Veluwe. Location is good surrounded with beautiful well kept gardens. The breakfast was a hearty buffet. The staff were cheerful and approachable. I would definitely stay here again.
My only request would be to have bathrobes in The Suites.

We visited this nice hotel in a great area, the room was nice, but the lightening was a bit difficult.
Hard to read a book or paper, not enough light! The television screen was very small.
There is a restaurant called "Smakelijk" on the premises.

We visited this hotel 3 years ago and liked it then so we decided to go again!

We arrived during the afternoon, a little earlier than the stated check-in time, but this was no problem.
The very friendly lady at the front deask checked with housekeeping to see if our room was ready and handed us our key.
We had a room on the ground floor again, this time facing away from the central grassy area but looking towards the car park.

Rooms are nice, tidy and clean with a (very) small flat screen mounted on the wall.
Not a very spacious room but price/quality was very good.
Beds are two singles pushed together with two single duvets and are extremely comfortable.
The bathroom is a bit dated and small but again, clean with Rituals toiletries this time.
Plenty of hot water and good water pressure.

Breakfast is taken on the first floor of the main building and very good.
Everything was replenished straight away, no empties to be seen anywhere.
We had our breakfast on a Sunday morning which is probably busier than any other time of the week and we felt that the staff couldn't fully cope with the tidying of tables.
People sat down at tables with the leftovers of the previous occupants. There were only two very young members of staff trying to clear the tables and one of those also had to make sure that everything at the buffet counter was stocked up.

We did enjoy our second visit and it's location is only a short stroll into the little town of Putten.

I arrived at1435 to check-in and was advised that the room was not ready yet - ok, I guess but I was only 25 minutes early. I had booked a double room but the receptionist said they had a three-bed room for us. I explained there were only two of us. She gave me the key and I advised her that we would not be back until around 2130.

When we got there, the door to the main reception would not open (as before), so we rang the bell. Eventually a guy arrived to let us in and asked where our card was....they had not given us one....

The bar was nice and we had a few drinks before going to bed. Despite the fact we said there were two of us, the third bed had not been removed so it was rather cramped. We had neither water nor water glasses in the room and only one light worked in the bathroom. Lack of attention to detail.

On to breakfast - quite a nice selection with the exception of the cooked eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs were quite simply a disaster - hard, unattractive and no wonder that no-one had eaten any.....the bacon was fatty and greasy.

We mentioned all the above to the receptionist on check-out - and received apologies. This is not an acceptable standard and we would not stay again.

The hotel is in the middle of the town and not a particularly peaceful setting - the Postillion at Amersfort wins hands over....

Drivers use the road signs for" Putten town" not the Sat Nav its quicker! The Hotel Hof van Putten was re-bought by the original owner after Best Western tenure. Now the policy is look after guests aimed at Danish Dutch and English speakers .This fundamental policy has ensured that the staff nearly all Dutch ,are happy content and really want you to enjoy your stay!Yes its basic accommodation but beds are new and rooms re-vamped.Warning tea & coffee drinkers ask at reception for milk you are in Holland they do not use milk.Food limited choice but is local go for the fish options.Walk, the town is a block away and have at least three cake shops plus good cloths shops even an Aldi .If you are brave hire a cycle from the Hof keep on the red path.We visited in March 2015 a couple in a twin in the accommodation block, and noticed the Hof's attention to detail,ie rained a bit and at reception a cleaner ensured the floor was slip free. Separate Bars for delegates and coach parties made for an easy evening.Breakfasts were a buffet type with a Dutch twist ,Coffee excellent.Go and chill Putten is a bit out of the way but Coach companies know a bargain Hotel.

I was booked in to this hotel with 7 colleagues,I didn't,t personally choose to stay here, but I was very happy with the agency's choice!
The Putten Parkhotel is set at the top of a lovely drive in the middle of a lovely town!
I believe that Putten itself is in the religious belt of Holland and consequently, the town is very quiet, very well kept and very nice!
We were all booked into Suites in the main building which looked fairly new! There was further accomodation to the rear of the hotel which looked a little ' Pontins',but which too was in a lovely setting!
We arrived at Midday and as check in was not until 2pm,the lovely Lady on reception ' moved mountains' to get our rooms ready while we sat outside sampling the local beverage(s) and within 15 minutes our suites were ready! Excellent service!
The rooms themselves were very nice, all named after flowers and trees and all done in different colour schemes!
The rooms were of a good size, with 2 chairs ,a table and a desk with chair on which to work! Free WiFi of course!
The wardrobes were big and spacious although as we were only staying overnight, this did not have any relevance to us!
The bathrooms were big, with large bath with a shower over it,separate walk in shower and Villeray and Boch fittings throughout! The bathroom also had a heated floor!
Very nice accomodation!
We went downstairs and the very accommodating Chef ( a young man who,s name I unfortunately can,t remember) made s a splendid 'buffet style ' lunch with soups, salads, cold meats, warm bread ( yum) and fruits,Excellent!
We took Dinner in the Hotel restaurant !
This too was excellent with a small, but excellent Menu and an excellent wine list!
The food and service were excellent,my compliments again to the Chef and staff!
My only complaint is that there was no Night Porter and having locked myself out of the room,I had to wait 15/20 minutes for someone to come and let me in to my room, but my own fault for locking myself out really and it was 0100 as we returned from work at that time!
Everything was closed on our return, but hey, this a country hotel and much ,much nice than returning to Amsterdam!
The Breakfast was Continental style with just scrambled eggs and bacon to satisfy those in need of a 'Full English',but once again very nice!
Despite the 1100 check out,we were allowed to keep our rooms until we left at 1330 a very nice touch and once again,so different to the Amsterdam hotels!
The Reception staff were very efficient,as we're all of the staff ( my towels were changed and bed made up and room tidied by them while we were at breakfast, incidentally I had left my wallet, passport,I pad and other valuables on my bed ready for departure and these were untouched! Again excellent !
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxed stay with excellent, friendly service,in beautiful surroundings!
Highly recommended!

Hi, can I get to Amsterdam from here easily? How much by taxi? Is there a train nearby?
Answer from Egbert V
Almere, The Netherlands5 contributions
The only easy way is by car. Total distance is about 60 kilometers (40 miles). From the hotel you can take a taxi to the trainstation and from there it takes the train one hour and has one transfer. It costs about €12,50.
