An authentic 17th-century castle offers you all kinds of possibilities for business meetings, conferences and hotel/restaurant facilities in style. You will be hospitably received and catered to a culinary delight in an oasis of peace. Kasteel De Vanenburg is located in a peaceful, forest-rich area in the heart of the Netherlands (less than 45 minutes from Amsterdam), in the Veluwe region, one of the most nature-rich areas in the Netherlands, near the village Putten. The castle is surrounded by beautiful old trees; historical lanes and watercourses determine the structure of the 13-hectare estate. On the estate you can stay in a rustic setting. Kasteel De Vanenburg has 48 hotel rooms and suites which are all located on our property. The rooms are spread over four courtyards around the castle. The restaurant (which is classified as one of the 500 best restaurants of the country) is located in the main castle, where the chef and his team will prepare the most surprising culinary creations, often using products from the herbal garden at the property. A great variety of meeting facilities are spread over the estate, accommodating from 3 to 300 persons. A combination of modern facilities and historical atmosphere provides a truly inspiring setting for all kinds of business meetings, trainings and conventions.

My friend and I booked a culinary deal and had a delicious 4 course diner, including prosecco. The ambiance was lovely, so was the service/staff.
Our hotelroom was situated in the garden of the castle: we had a living room with a desk, a small table with chairs, a small fridge, coffee/tea making facilities.
The bathroom was not big, but was clean and contained nice toiletries (rituals).
The bed was very nice with a good matras.
The breakfast buffet was the best I ever had: not only did they offer the standard breakfast items such as bacon and scrambled eggs, but they also served different types of granola and had a special tea corner with loose tea leaves and fresh ginger and licorice sticks.
All staff working at both restaurants and at the reception were very friendly, which made us feel even more welcome.
The price of the room, the 4 course dinner and the breakfast buffet was 104 euro per person. It was definitely worth it (and even more)!

Lovely, tranquil hotel in bucolic area. The rooms are in split bungalows off towards the outside of the property. Modern rooms are on the tight side- had a suite with fireplace, and a bathtub in the room. The beds were comfortable but pillows over stuffed and hard so had to use my travel pillow. The bathrooms were single sink with a large shower and modern toilet with built in fan. Everything in the suite is at an odd angle but a good set up. The fireplace is a vapor and light model. Cute. The two tvs (one on each side of foreplace) were odd as the one not watching would turn on at random times. Due to rain, we were unable to use the outside seating area but it was nice, surrounded by low lying hedges. Walk ways boarder the rooms so not absolutely private but the hotel is quiet. There is ample parking and possible to park smaller camper if needed.

The estate is lovely. There is a trail around the main house for viewing there lovely plantings and specimen trees. There area is full of biking paths and the nearby town of Putten is adorable and has an excellent bakery (be sure to look for the good one which is on a corner at end of shopping street- the other bakery is commercial stuff).

Dear Michele, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. We are happy to read a positive review about your stay and thank you for the compliments of the estate and the area. We will take a look at the pillow options, we do have two kinds but one should be soft and the other hard. Also we will check out the tv, why this turns on randomly. We hope to welcome you another time, maybe with sunny weather to also enjoy the terrace of the rooms! Kind regards Team Kasteel De Vanenburg

The place looks really nice and the service is at a high standard. The room is comfortable and has everything you need. In some cases you might hear the noise from the other rooms but in general that is not a problem. I do recommend you to walk around as the nature there is beautiful. The food at their restaurant is great but pricey.

I stayed in one of the luxury (superior) suites. They may cost a bit more, but I think its worth it. A complete home from home. Everything you can expect, a great bed, a shower with lots of power. Some free drinks in the mini-bar. Fruit and nibbles on the table. A nice sofa to sit on. (I suspect it can be transformed into an extra bed).
The room itself is a separate building. The more standard rooms of in small blocks of about five rooms. This gives plenty of privacy. The rooms all have private access from the beautiful gardens outside.
What was nice to see was that everything was being well maintained. The gardeners were busy, the patios were being cleaned, etc. All the chairs in the restaurant had been renewed.
A great time was had.

A really beautiful place surrounded by nature. I went with my family to spend some of my Easter holiday in Vanenburg Castle. We had a really nice and large room for the whole family, and breakfast and dinner was brought to our room due to Corona. All was delicious, and the place can't be more charming. The quietness, the gardens, all the staff... amazing!

We stayed for a Saturday night away and had dinner in the restaurant as well. It was a very relaxing, refreshing escape. Our junior suite was spacious and comfortable, the grounds are lovely. Staff were professional if not openly friendly. Definitely recommended.

Excellent stay, the property and grounda are gorgeous. Stayed in a compact room with little terrace, parking easy and available, bed comfortable, great having a little terrace and room was clean. My only qualm was that some maintenance could be done inside the room; leakage mark from ceiling on the wallpaper and some stains in carpet and curtain that should be dealt with. Highly recommend a stay here.

This is a lovely place in a beautiful old house or I should say a castle really with a fantastic restaurant and very helpful staff. I had a wedding celebration here, but we all stayed an extra day because it is so nice here. Very quiet with beautiful gardens, peaceful setting, excellent food, a nice bar and a little chapel with fantastic instruments (orghan/piano), all in all the perfect place to get married, but certainly worth a visit as a tourist. Lovely little towns close by and an area for walks or bike rides.

A hotel with a difference. Basically a converted mansion house, but still with all the elegance. The main building houses the restaurants and reception. This is surrounded by a very large garden. The guest rooms and meeting rooms are in small buildings distributed around the gardens. I can well imagine that it is an ideal location for all kinds of parties and weddings.
We stayed in one of the deluxe range of rooms. The rather small bedroom was compensated by a roomy lounge. As expected, all facilities were available and everything was clean and in order. As all these rooms are on the ground floor they has a small teras where you can sit in the sun.
The food in the restaurant was excellent. There is a very limited a-la-cart selection, but each day there is a different multi course meal from which you can select which courses you want to eat.
The fact that the rooms are at a distance from the main building may be a problem for some people, but the hotel does have some electric buggies they use for all kind of purposes. I suspect they will help those that need it.
If you are wondering what happens when it rains, there are umbrellas everywhere.
All in all we had a very relaxing and enjoyable four days.

I read a few reviews that had me skeptical about the place. When we arrived I thought, "The person who wrote that review has issues!" The staff is professional, the rooms are comfortable, the price was very reasonable, the location absolutely stunning (even better than the pictures) and perfect if you're looking for a quiet retreat with good access. The only thing I would change would be the price and location of the breakfast buffet. The price would be okay if the breakfast was upstairs in the beautiful dining rooms with their gorgeous views of the gardens and not in the servants' quarters in the basement with little natural light.
