The location was not in a tourist area but it was still easy to get around, I used the bus and I walked. Bicycles are available for rental as well. Being able to use your credit/debit cards to board public transport buses and the rail system added to the convenience.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed one night to see family locally, and everything was fantastic. We were welcomed by Zara on reception who ensured our room was prioritised for cleaning as we had arrived early. The family room was huge and immaculately clean. There was even space for me to practice yoga in the room! We enjoyed afternoon coffee in the restaurant whilst the children played on the trampoline and slide outside, the waiters were friendly and helpful at all times. This morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in clean and comfortable bright surroundings. Karen was the restaurant host and was so friendly band helpful I wanted to hug her! Her gentleman colleague was also excellent. Karen went out of her way to speak with the chefs who produced a wonderful selection of gluten free goodies for my coeliac child and myself including GF pancakes, homemade GF croissants and beautifully soft warm multigrain rolls. I can honestly say, as a mum of 6 year old twins, one of whom is autistic, and working full time, I felt truly nurtured by the whole experience and the staff are pivotal to that.

Clean and comfortable Not suitable for tourists and for anyone who wants to use public transport Quite far from the train station and tourist spots Basic food and no restaurants anywhere close By and large good staff but we had a very unpleasant experience of being served meat after having specifically informed that we were vegetarians - and no apology from the server for such a serious lapse Front office staff is quite helpful and proactive

It felt more like a Premier Inn rather than a Garden Inn. Our evening meal on the first night was very disappointing. This service was very poor: I had to remind the waiter to bring my wine after a very extended delay ( I believe he had forgotten about it, the measure was considerably less than the ones served at other tables and it tasted ‘off’. We were ignored by our waitress, with other tables arriving after us being attended to before us. Our room was ignored and wasn’t cleaned at all after our first night: the bed was completely unmade, the towels were still wet and where we’d left them and the hot beverage selection had not been refilled. I confirm we had not hung the do not disturb sign on the outside of our door. On our departure morning, we telephoned the front desk 5 times at 4:00am to ask for our taxi to be reconfirmed - the receptionist never picked up. We came down to the front desk 10 minutes before our taxi was due and had to go searching for and raise our voices to arouse the receptionist. We asked her to confirm our taxi, but she only chose to look at the paper list of bookings which we had booked the morning before. Once our taxi was overdue, we insisted she telephone the taxi company, after which she told us the taxi would arrive in one minute. 10 minutes later we insisted she telephone again after which she told us it would be 3 to 4 minutes. This was extremely stressful given that we needed to catch a specific train to Schipol Airport to catch our flight back to the UK. I normally expect a much higher standard of service and customer care than this from any Hilton hotel.

Ok hotel, clean and acceptable, but we had some issues with the hotel. There is no way to crack our window open, room 117, leading to very stuffy air in the room and now way to fix that. There are no coat hooks in the room! It is not possible to take the stairs, even when the elevators are full and you have to wait 10 minutes for an elevator to go from the first floor to the ground floor. The Bar is boring and only open from lack of choices in the area. I found the bed too hard.

The Hilton Garden Inn Leiden is a modern hotel near the main highway. My room was spacious and comfortable. The shower, toilet, and sink worked well. The breakfast buffet has a large section of items that were fresh and delicious. The staff was very helpful calling taxis for transportation, The one drawback is the location - not central to the city.

Rather a 3* hotel, due to the dusty decorations. Not such a great location, a bit far from Leiden and not great surroundings. Great staff and good food. Breakfast has a good variety of choices. Very clean and quiet, even if it is located next to some highway. The room is rather poor on amenities. I especially missed the slippers but I appreciated the coffee and tea facilities. The bed was comfortable. Definitely a decent hotel for business.

Good location for seeing windmills at Unesco site in Rotterdam. Very close to highway and can drive to supermarket. Nice clean and new rooms with good breakfast that has many things that you can order.

booking is painful so please careful for double charged and over paid. I was charged double so many times and still trying to get that resolved... also some hidden charges which I was not aware during booking so again need to make calls to get that reverted ... lot of outside noise as rooms are next to highway but manageable
