I stayed here for 5 nights whilst on a course in the xscape snowdome which was a 5 minute drive. The hotel ticked all the boxes of super friendly owners/staff, a comfy clean room and really good value for money. No complaints at all!

Beautiful room and very welcoming check-in, however, it's 9pm and there are drunks outside my room fighting and threatening to kill each other! It's been going on for 10 minutes so far. As a lone female staying here for business, I actually don't feel safe staying here or indeed leaving the room. I did have reservations about staying here with... More

Very friendly greeting, nothing too much trouble. The owners went out of their way to change the beds from 2 singles to a double without being asked which was nice. Room very comfortable and clean with great rainfall shower. Breakfast was toast, cereal, juice and coffee. At a reasonable cost you can also have a full cooked breakfast. The place... More

We booked a twin room for an overnight stay(Saturday) before my daughter visited York Uni for their open day. Our arrival was a little bit chaotic, due to the fact that Castleford were playing away in France & everyone was watching the match in the beer garden. However, the lady quickly checked us in, showed us to our room &... More

I stayed at Wheldale hotel for two nights while working at Leeds festival. I was looking for a budget accomodation with basic facilities and that's exactly what I got. I arrived late at night, it was easy to find and I was quickly checked in by a friendly woman working behind the bar which is at the front of the... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our premises, You booked our last available room with the option of 2 or 3 beds. If the correct occupancy level is input the correct price would have been displayed. As you were trying to get the room cheaper you input incorrect information, the owner explained this but you didn't like paying... More

We booked the Wheldale as we were visiting family and stayed in room 10. The pictures of the room on the website don't do it justice, its much bigger than the image shows. Large bathroom with walk in shower, beautifully decorated and a good comfy bed. They are in the process of renovating the bar downstairs and said that we... More

We booked this hotel last minute to attend a wedding in Pontefract. It was almost suspiciously cheap but reading the previous reviews gave me confidence to book. When you first arrive, it's not a scenic surrounding and the first impression isn't fantastic. However, despite us arriving too early in the day, the owners were incredibly welcoming and offered to look... More

Booked a nights stay in a single room (shared bathroom and toilet) as was in Garforth down the road for two days. On arrival, I was shown to my room and told if I needed anything I just needed to ask. However, I sure didn't require anything regarding the hotel, as it was nothing short of perfect! My room was... I don't think you can fault a place that gives you enough information as to what to expect before you book. This place claims to be a reasonably priced budget option, which is exactly what it is. I paid £25 for a good sized room with breakfast (I left early so couldn't comment on it, though I understand it offered... More
