This was our first stop during our trip through the BVI's and it was the most memorable as well. There was no real office for check in when we arrived so we wandered over to the Soggy Dollar where there were about 20 people gathered around the bar waiting for drinks. Since we weren't ordering drinks, I thought it was...

My first visit to Jost was 2 years ago on the day ferry from STJ...I took one look at The Sandcastle and knew I HAD to come back and stay. Well this year, on a girl's trip, I got to do just that. We had both beachfront cottages for 2 nights. I can tell you, it wasn't long enough. The...

There are other places to stay on Jost Van Dyke, but the location of the Sandcastle makes it the best, hands down. There is nothing that compares to being able to walk out onto beautiful White Bay in the morning and have it all to yourself. We found check-in and out to be very easy. The staff was incredibly friendly,...

Sandcastles is a must if you want to experience one of the most beautiful beaches in the caribbean. It's a quirky place with 4 cottages and 2 AC rooms set less than 30 steps to the water surrounded by lush tropical flowering folliage. The staff of Sandcastles and Soggy Dollar take care of you like you are visiting family. The...

Recently, the Soggy Dollar Bar was reviewed as one of the 7 best party places in the Caribbean, especially on Sunday when noisy motor boats come over from St Thomas. For those of us who have loved the place for a decade or more, it has a become a nightmare. Mornings are still idyllic and evenings occasionally provide the quiet...

Great setting on one of the most beautiful beaches in the caribbean. Rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly. They have water toys just for the guests. Food at dinner time was out of this world. Can't wait to come back. Capt. Don

Sometimes when people stay at the same place year after year they find it not as wonderful as they first thought it to be. NOT the case at Sandcastle. We have been back in Maine for 3 weeks following our 5th yearly stay. We are tan, rested, relaxed and happy. Another great vacation. We stayed in Garden Cottage # 3...

We rented the 2 air conditioned cabins for a week over Halloween so that we could go to Foxy's Halloween party. The staff was excellent and couldn't have been nicer. The rooms are immaculate and have everything that you need. You sign up for dinner in the morning and then go to the outdoor dining room at 7 to be...

So here's how you can tell if a place is truly good. Whip up a hurricane. Call her Irene. Knock out the power all over the BVI. And leave it off for 4 days. Now, sit back and see what happens. If you try this at the Soggy Dollar Bar/Sandcastle Hotel you'll discover how a first class establishment is run....

When we arrived, Tina set us up in our rooms and we were off to the beach and bar. When it was crowded at the bar Mic would still get us what we needed and put it on our tab. We just put every thing on our tab and paid the bill at the end of our stay(how easy is...
