Last weekend an intended farm stay in Kangaroo Valley went all wrong when torrential rain washed away the road into the property. It was around 10:30 in the evening so we decided to drive back into Bowral to seek accommodation. We tried to find a room at Craigieburn but the hotel had suffered some storm damage as well so there...

Other than restuarant prices the stay was excellent, food was good but prices were too steep, that was the only negative on the stay, staff were friendly and helpful, accommodation was first class and we will probably stay again but eat elsewhere

Peppers Manor House was lovely. A mix of old world charm in a beautiful country setting. The restaurant was a bit overpriced and the spa was non operational but the room was lovely. Peppers is a little isolated but is only a short drive from Moss Vale. The general ambience and feel of the place was lovely as were the...

A fantastic place to stay, exceptional staff, and the food in Katers Restaurant was superb. Plenty of areas to sit quietly and enjoy a drink in front of the fire. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

restaurant meal whilst good could have done with a better range especially in the non fine dining section the staff were very friendly and were very helpful we did book the room on a deal which made it very reasonable however at normal price we may tend to see what else is available in the area Regards Mike

All good apart from the rain which seemed to never stop. Signage a bit poor when you have not been there before and you are running around in the rain trying to work out where to go. Other wise no issues.

Loved this place. Even in the wet, it was a brilliant venue for a wedding. Stayed in a Queen Room, was tiny, but comfortable. Beds are lovely. Bathroom was so big. All lean and well kept. Just such a pleasant, relaxing feel. I think the big open fires in Winter would be so lovely too.

The room and bathroom were both good sizes and were clean. There was a good selection on teas. It was great that could park right outside the lodge and wasn't very far to go down to the resteraunt in the evening.

The quality of the rooms is as always excellent, but there were a few minor things that let it down this time. They are very small, but sometimes it is the little things that can be irritating. We stayed for two nights & would like to have had the instant coffee & milk replenished after the first night.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Peppers Manor House is set on a beautiful Southern Highlands estate and provides an experience of life and leisure at one of Australia's grand country houses. Built in 1926, the house was originally home to the Katers, a pioneering grazing family, and has retained its original country charm. During winter, an open fire burns continually in the Great Hall and in summer meals are served in a leafy courtyard with drinks by the pool. Wake up refreshed and enjoy the views of the estate from your elegantly appointed room or suite. The setting is tranquil, the decor charmingly luxe. Highland Queen Rooms, Highland King Rooms, Garden Wing Deluxe, Garden Wing Suites and the Elizabeth Broughton Suite (in the original master bedroom), form part of the historic home, with an adjacent Garden Wing taking full advantage of the country views. The retreat offers the 18-hole championship Mount Broughton Golf Course and Country Club, tennis, boules, lawn bowls or be rejuvenated with a bushwalk or a gentle stroll around the beautiful gardens and cool off with a swim. Be pampered with the retreat's range of massage therapies and beauty treatments, or relax with a good book and a glass of wine in front of the open fire. Katers Restaurant at Peppers Manor House in the Southern Highlands offers diners a truly world class experience. The magnificent country estate setting and celebration of fresh seasonal produce will ensure an experience to be remembered. Open for breakfast, lunch, traditional afternoon tea and dinner daily, there's no need to wait for a special occasion. Try the Pan fried barramundi served with Morton Bay bug cannelloni and squid ink crumbs or Angus beef fillet served with red cabbage puree, corn cake and Cabernet jus. And for something really special at this multi award winning restaurant, there's a delicious 5 course degustation menu, available with or without matched wines. The surrounding area has something for everyone, including horse riding, mountain biking, trout fishing, historic villages, antique shopping or winery tours. The Highlands area offers a delightful environment to seek antiques and rare books, arts and crafts, or that perfect escape in a National Park. ... more   less
