Five stars for Jill's hot chocolates with marshmallows. Delicious! And great friendly service too! A very comfortable relaxed setting with magnificent views of the Great Western Tiers as a backdrop. Well worth a visit!

The mad world disappears in this quiet place where the locals are kind, the hospitality is warm and inviting and creation is at its awesome best. The motel is modest but warm and clean and has a great cafe with magnificent views over the mountains. Thank you for allowing us to share this beautiful place.

The location is excellent with stunning views of the mountains and farm land below. Poatina village is quiet and friendly with a small shop and excellent tearooms and gallery. The motel is small but the rooms are clean and tidy with every thing you require. The bathrooms are older in style but very clean. There is a large dining room...

A great location with spectacular views of the countryside around, especially from the cafe and restaurant. Small motel (12 rooms), comfortable, intimate and well-priced. Some aspects, like bathrooms are slightly older but reasonable. If available, book the Commissioners Suite - had a look and is not that much extra and there is a separate lounge and facilities were good. Very...

This place is straight out of the 60's. It's not retro furniture, it's original. Sat by the open fire, eating toasted sandwiches and coffee, looking up at the Great Western Tiers, finding out that there is an artists retreat just starting and another one in January. What a fantastic stop. The silence outside was beautiful. Exceptional service. Thanks.

Warm and friendly greeting from Manager, pleasant and homely feeling with a log fire to warm by. A good menu selection, meals are of a good quality and substantial. Good coffee and a lovely view across to the tiers. This restaurant is alcohol free but there is a good selection of soft drinks on offer!

We stayed here by accident, as we were travelling in a campervan and as it was wet and windy so we wanted a warm spot. We were very pleasantly surprised as we stayed in a $20 a night hostel room and it was clean and warm, so much better than some other hostel and backpacker places for a lot more....
