I surprised my partner with a weekend in the Yarra Valley, culminating in an overnight stay at Chateau Yering. This is a most beautiful old building, filled with grand antique furniture and decorated in a luxurious, period style. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed as is the bathroom which includes a clawfoot bath. The staff were warm and...

I enjoyed my stay, my room was in the old stables, with a lovely fire place which we used each night on returning from seeing the valley wineries and galleries. I believe the hotel is too pricey and perhaps reducing room rates would benefit both the traveller and the hotel owners by more people coming to stay. Overall I enjoyed...

What an absolutely gorgeous historic mansion. Beautiful gardens. Stunning suites. Fireplace to sit by and read a book, have a glass of wine. Dinner in the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. Great food and wine to enjoy. A beautiful breakfast in the morning in their breakfast café. Highly recommend for a night or two away to relax.

Stayed here for my husband's birthday. The room was lovely & spacious with what looked like a recently renovated bathroom. We ate in the restaurant & enjoyed a good 3 course dinner with plenty of local produce. Breakfast was one of the best we have had at a hotel in Australia & it was nice that it was a mixture...

We stayed the night because I was given a voucher for dinner as a gift. The meal was very nice, but not exceptional, the service excellent & the wine was good too. The accommodation is clean, warm & comfortable, but very outdated. It really needs a facelift. The cost of the room for one night was very steep for what...

Stayed for 3 nights very clean but very over priced. They would do better to do better deals. Great location the history of the homestead was very well researched. Would I stay again ? maybe if it was a better deal. I've stayed at other similar places & this one could improve a few things.

Stayed here for a couple of nights to attend m friend's wedding. Majestic old homestead. All the bones of a great hotel but the hospitality staffed were seriously lacking. The rooms were nice but they are in need of modernizing. Overall a nice experience but could do more to take it to the next level.

Positives; -lovely old style building and rooms -Beautiful polished timber adorning hallways and throughout the building -All inclusive breakfasts as part of the package in the lovely Sweetwater cafe -Service always very accommodating -Central to the Yarra valley Negatives; limited reception with even commercial television stations and no cable...

Whilst I had a pleasant stay I feel that they may be living on past glories. The rooms were quiet good with the bathrooms very good. I don't know how an establishment that sets this standard can get away with no pay tv and a screen about 15 inches. The resturant was adequate however on one night they had one...
