Booked 2 nights accommodation at The Lobster Lodge, but due to the Perth COVID Lockdown, we had to cancel our trip to WA, the day before we were due to arrive at Cervantes. I contacted “Liz” , and she had no problem in cancelling our booking and refunding the $50 deposit. I haven’t stayed at The Lobster Lodge as yet, but will definitely do so, when we finally get to WA and complete our planned itinerary.
Thanks so much for your understanding, Liz. It’s very much appreciated.

Newly renovated lodge. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils and the bathrooms are sparkling clean. Outdoor area is also amazing where you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the morning. They have family rooms and budget rooms at an affordable price, suitable for every travellers.
I stayed there for a few times and definitely going back again! Btw, you will also be welcomed by the most helpful and friendly manager, Liz.

Great location for a beach get away! Great way to get away from hustle and bustle of the city and just relax. Rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Newly renovated and nice and modern. big kitchen and fridge to ring along own food. Easy 5 minute walk to beach and 10 minutes into shops. Easy drive out to the Pinnacles. Staff were very accommodating and flexible with check in/out! Will definitely be back in summer!

We stayed here twice during our trip to WA and both times the room and service were faultless. We stayed in the family en suite, with stunning sea views. The room was spotless throughout with a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a tv.
There is a well equipped communal kitchen with indoor and outdoor seating. Good laundry facilities.
Location is great, a short walk to the beach, shops and kids playground.
The hotel manager went above and beyond to help us and had great local knowledge. Can't recommend this place more.

Booked one night at this backpackers over Easter through Wotif and Tony, the contact at the backpackers, sent me a barrage of rude, threatening emails to force me to cancel this booking because he wanted us to stay a minimum of three nights instead of one. He even threatened to call the police if we ever showed up for our booking. I have never been treated so badly by an accommodation provider before and I did not respond to Tony's threatening emails as he did not deserve a response. The issue was dealt with brilliantly through the Wotif customer service team who found us alternate accommodation. I warn anybody who goes to stay at this backpackers that the staff could be a bit rough and rude. It is a shame that our holiday to the Pinnacles has been tarnished by this guy.

Also known as Cervantes Lodge, this seems to be a welcome alternative to what appears to be a very limited choice of possibly over-priced hotel rooms for those wishing to view the Pinnacles in their glory at sunset (which I can highly recommend if the weather’s with you). It does bill itself as a backpacker’s retreat and the rooms are fairly basic although they do have some newer ensuites available. We stayed in a smallish room with two sets of bunks, one with a double base, a small cupboard, table and chair, and bedside cabinet – nothing fancy. Beds were clean and fairly comfortable but if you happen to be travelling with small children be advised that these metal-framed bunks are likely to result in bumped heads and tears unless you have unnaturally inactive kids. Also, the top bunks don’t have guard-rails so they would be unsuitable for young children.

Toilets and showers are located down the corridor toward the kitchen and lounge area, and there is a laundry adjacent. Everything seems to operate off $2 coins, which you can get from reception during office hours, including washing machines, 15-min internet access, and vending machines. Toilets and showers appeared clean but there are only a couple available at any one time. Toilet paper was the cheap one-ply rubbish on rolls in gravity dispensers with minute slots that have you fiddling around with your fingers trying to find the end and tease out enough so as to end up with more than one sheet whilst the weight of the rolls above challenges your manual dexterity and the position of the toilet seat (which was made from plastic almost as thin as the paper) ensures that your practice at being a contortionist is well and truly tested. Washbasins don’t have mixer taps and the hot water was scalding. A communal hand towel is provided (no towels in the room rate). I thought the bathroom set-up was bizarre.

The kitchen/dining area was much better, well-equipped with complimentary tea & milk, large fridge space and pigeon-holes for dry goods. I can imagine it might become a bit fraught with a full house but as there were only two other couples and a solo traveller there at the same time as us we experienced no problems. There are two gas hobs with four burners each, one microwave and toaster, and one sink unit. The owners seem very keen on recycling and the number of different bins for different materials could be quite confusing – it certainly makes you think about what you throw away. A small office with one computer terminal is adjacent and the TV lounge was well-stocked with books, magazines, games, toys and tourist info.

The location was quiet and there were no noisy neighbours during our one-night stay. Little street-lighting permits starry skies to be viewed and we even glimpsed three kangaroos hopping down the road in single file. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the place for $75 overnight plus $10 returnable key deposit, despite the oddities of the toilets.

Stayed at Cervantes Lodge in a family deluxe room for one night. The room was great value, just what we expected, and looked exactly like the photos shown on accommodation websites.

Our room was on the upper floor in the building towards the back. The room came with a double bed, a bunk bed and ensuite. It was bright, comfortable and decorated in cheerful colours. Both the room and bathroom were a large size, and spotlessly clean.

We arrived late in the evening, but the friendly owner stayed up to give us our room keys. As we left early the following morning, we did not visit the other parts of the complex such as the kitchen and communal areas.

Having stayed at the Pinnacles Motel a month earlier when also here to visit the Pinnacles, I would definitely recommend staying at Cervantes Lodge. For essentially the same price, the rooms here are larger, brighter, much newer and more comfortable, with friendlier service.

Very clean tidy back packers to stay in .Very clean and well appointed. Only grumble was that the bed in our room had a metal rail and a rough edge on the corner -which tore all the skin on my husbands leg (not a lot or room between the beds. Just be ware of this if you stay.) A very big Giant skink lives in the garden and a delight to see. This accomodation is a short walk from a beautiful swimming beach and miles of walking prisitine beaches.

Cervantes is a pretty small town and this hostel is easy to find. It has a very quiet location between the main part of town and the beach. The hostel overall is very clean and well laid out. The kitchen is functional and clean. The single/double room is fairly spacious with comfortable beds. The shared bathrooms/showers are basic, but work OK. I would not recommend using the clothes washers as they made my clothes smell moldy and I ended up having to wash them all over again two days later. You can forget about internet here, it was not working when I arrived. Further, I had a hard time finding a working PC or working internet anywhere in town. Finally, I did not find the hotel staff to be very friendly or accommodating, they only seemed to "tolerate" having me there as a guest. So, if you want to visit Cervantes, then I would consider looking at some of the other, few options in town.

I needed an overnight stop on the way back to Perth and googled several motels/hotels and thought the prices was a bit on the high side. There were even places that wanted to charge for linen and towels. Although there were a couple of bad reviews for this hotel, it was only for 1 night and it was close to the places I wanted to visit. Prior directions to the place was very straight forward and this was appreciated as I got confused when approacing the roundabout for the first time.

I am quite pleased to say it was a very clean and comfortable room. Although we could not see the Indian Ocean, I could hear the waves pounding. We had a disabled room, and therefore the bathroom was large. There were no fancy toiletries. There were tea and coffee facilities provided. I looked into the kitchens and they were very clean. There seemed to be basic provisions, like salt, pepper, oil, sauces (maybe leftover by previous guests). I would presume that the kitchen and dining areas would be crowded if it was a full house.

I used the laundry and dryer and its cost $3 for the washer and $2 for the dryer. No laundry powder was provided. As it was late, I did not want to disturb the owners for a minor request.

Checked in was quick and simple. The lady was very friendly and recommended a few places to eat. We ate at the Country Club and had their Seafood, with lobster, platter for $79.00. There were lots of chips and salads. I thought the lobster was overcooked and there was too much batter with the squid. However bearing in mind that this is country area and culinary standards are different, I was not too fuss. Service was friendly.

I checked out early the next morning and just dropped my key in the box, without meeting anyone.
