My family stayed here in April, 2014. Had 5 generations under one roof. It was incredible. The kitchen is huge. The beds are amazing. The place is beautiful with boxwood and patios everywhere. Plenty of rooms for everyone. I slept like a baby. I couldn't have done this without John and Barbara, the owners. Love this place.

My wife and I went here after we got married this fall. There was so much to do in the area we were barely at the house, but when we were, we had it all to ourselves. It was very clean and well kept. The breakfast is prepared by the Doctor and his wife, both of whom we are in... More

We splurge once a year to stay at a B&B around our anniversary. This year, we wanted to bring our new baby along, but were worried we would have to drop the tradition of staying at a B&B. We were so lucky to find Mountain Valley Farm. Not only were we able to share the trip with our young son,... More

My wife and I spent the weekend here while we went hiking in Shenandoah National Park. Because we were the only couple there, we essentially had free reign of the whole house. It is wonderfully decorated in a classic country style, but has all the modern conveniences one could need. The breakfasts were exquisite, and the innkeepers were completely accommodating... More

We just stayed at this B & B once again, while visiting our son at school. Each time the farm is a great escape for us from the city. It's so peaceful. We love having coffee on the front porch and watching the many beautiful horses on their property, each morning. Breakfast and the company of the Innkeepers is a... More

I, once again, stayed at Mountain Valley Farm last month. Really enjoyed it!! It's a quiet, peaceful, home away from home. A fantastic break from the city! The owners are wonderful people and go above and beyond to make all the guests comfortable. I cannot imagine flying into this area and staying with anyone else. Thanks again!

We wanted to be close to campus, as this was our first Parents's Wkend for our son at Blue Ridge College Prep School. The Farm is lovely!! Wonderful People!! We enjoyed breakfast with them each morning and look forward to seeing them when we go back!! The Farm reminded me, very much of being at my Grandmother's when I was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the graceful tranquility of Mountain Valley Farm. Located in the heart of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Our three bedroom Bed & Breakfast and Family Vacation Farm house, serves as a revitalizing escape. Our location, just 5 miles from the entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Many Bed and Breakfasts try to imitate the relaxed pace of our farm through use of decor, architecture and paintings. When it comes down to it though, this invented atmosphere is fragile, and the beep of a car's horn shatters the illusion. The Mountain Valley Farm vacation retreat rests upon the majesty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with some horses roaming the hay fields, adding that special touch that just can't be replicated. With the gently rolling mountains, the private and serene feeling is very real. If you choose, you can even pet the horses. ... more   less
