4 day stay over Thanksgiving with 13 people. Plenty of sleeping room for all. Cabin was in excellent shape, clean and well taken care of . Large laundry room, 2 futons and a full and upper twin on the lower level with Fooseball table. Upstairs kitchen/living area a bit small for 13 people but it has a beautiful porch overlooking... Cabin is very small--approximately 540 sq ft. As would be expected the bedrooms are very small--think RV sized. Living/dining area adequate. Decent sized bathroom. Nice front and back porches. No cellular service (T-Mobile). Verizon and ATT functioned fine. Steep, private road access on a one-lane, unpaved road. Had to get a running start for my Prius to make it to... More

We arrived at night so it was pretty hard to find the actual cabin (terrible signage and no lighting to direct us in the middle of nowhere), but once we found it, we LOVED it. The cabin was spotless and modern. When we walked around the mountain, we noticed that our cabin seemed the most secluded so we were very... More

Our cabin was charming, spotless, with all the modern conveniences. It did not have wi-fi, but TV and cell coverage. We were well pleased. I enjoyed setting on both the deck and patio. Plus the hot tub on the deck, in the midst of nature was great. Very well built and maintained.

We stayed in #4 Sugar Shack. The cabin was small and quaint for a couple with everything all accessible in one big room. There is a futon for additional sleeping for a family. The balcony was mostly secluded with rocking chairs and hot tub. We had two little kittens visit us during our stay. We brought food and drink and... More

My husband and I first stayed at Lydia Mountain when we were just dating. We loved it so much that we decided to get married there :) We have stayed several times in a few different cabins and all of them were exceptional. I will say that the Sugar Shack is our personal favorite though. It is just the perfect... More

What a breathtakingly beautiful place!! The peace, privacy, beauty and rest we found there is second to none. My husband and I live at the beach, so we are no strangers to amazing sights, sounds and smells. But, Lydia Mountain, and the Mountain Paradise cabin in particular, take the cake. Leaving actually hurt but I was comforted in knowing that... More

What a great find! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary at the recommendation of a friend. The only cabin available was Southern Comfort. It was bigger than what we needed but again, it was all that was available. We upgraded to the romance package that includes dinner. Steak, potatoes, shrimp, salad, cheesecake. All were amazing. The candles... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Mountain Paradise cabin for 3 nights. We did not want to leave. Upon arrival, we called the main office and were given a key code for entry into the front door. Entering the cabin, we were amazed at how clean, updated, and nicely decorated it was. The cabin we stayed in was very... More

We spent the weekend with friends at the Dancing Bear cabin. It was fabulous! The cabin is gorgeous and well stocked with everything you need to spend a relaxing weekend enjoying the quiet of the mountains or a long vacation enjoying Charlottesville, hiking, skiing or wine tasting nearby. Luxurious amenities, comfortable beds, a well provisioned kitchen, books and puzzles -... More
