Positive was the room was clean. However the cons were rude woman, only one elevator worked, waited 30 mins. Ice maker did not work. Halls were hot amd outdated. Pool looked nasty and very chemical smelling.
This hotel had one redeeming quality, and that was that it was oceanfront. From the time you pulled into the cramped parking lot, to walking inside to the mini front desk, to riding the lone working elevator in the hotel... The one star rating I gave it was generous. And the room... The room was horrendous, especially the bathroom. Absolutely no exaggeration here either. I left feeling bad for the people that stayed there as their one vacation each summer.
Great location, all ocean front rooms. Hotel needs some updating. Room 508, water from the air-conditioner kept the balcony flooded (no drainage). And coming in to a tile floor can be quite dangerous with wet feet. We could not go out without shoes, and Grandson could not sit on the balcony to play. Elevators are VERY slow. There are two, and one was out of service for 1/2 of our stay. With most people coming and going with luggage carts, luggage, coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc., you're lucky to fit four ppl per ride. One evening, there were 17 ppl waiting for the elevator (only one was working). The guest restrooms on the main floor had "out of order" signs on them 95% of our visit. This was very much an inconvenience when running in from the beach. Great potential .... get it together!!!…
Great views from the rooms. Very clean hotel lobby and rooms. Beds are very comfortable and the a/c works great! Parking is not great. You also have to pay $10 a day to park in their lots. Very convenient location to shops, restaurants and beach.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!!!!! Checked in with my sister and a friend for a 3 night stay. Sheets were never changed, garbage was never collected and my sister found a bed bug in her bed. So, now we are sitting on the balcony waiting for more garbage bags to put our clothes in so we can go to the laundromat to wash them before heading home. Not a good way to end a vacation!!!!!
Disgusting to say the least! Absolutely horrible customer service, cockroachs and bugs every where!!! Old carpet old and Disgusting furniture..I can go on and on. I traveled alot and tried so many different places but this place is the absolute f...worst place ever, and I truly mean that. Only one plastic Disgusting chair on balcony no 2nd chair no table nothing! No available parking on site we had to use another parking lot like two streets away. Air conditioner was so loud at night I couldn't go to sleep...they had a non smoking policy every where yet I seen people smoke hookah with weed and cigarettes on balcony and since there was no privacy or barrier that was so uncomfortable to say the least. Just Absolutely hated that stay. Thank God was only for the weekend. Just don't go there! Yeah its close to the beach but believe me it's Disgusting and so not worth it.…
The staff was wonderful, everything I needed was complimentary in great time.when I got there the front desk personell did everything possible they could to get me accommodated. I will def recommend Ocean Resort to anyone traveling to the Virginia Beach area.
Imagine cutting the bedroom light on around 2 in the morning and encounter this. I yelled at my husband...a roach! who was in the bathroom. Whiletayed in place for a while, the minute my husband lunged for it, it ran of course. My husband stayed right there waiting for it until it showed up again and met it's fate. Told the front desk about it and he acted as if he could care less Gave us a copy of the receipt to make a report. No I'm sorry, I apologize for that happening to you guys... nothing. Place is very outdated with some things like the rotary telephone. It was an okay place, but the roach and uncaring attitude really did it for me.😳
It was very easy to check in. Our room was ready when we got there. Everyone was very friendly. The rooms seemed like they had been updated. The elevators were a little slow. I would definitely stay here again. We had no problem checking out.
This place had amazing views. You were NOT right on the beach. You had to walk across the boardwalk to get to the beach. The balcony was not private, and the AC I think was preset. No matter how low we turned it down it wouldn't get cool. I think the bathroom was a bit small. You couldn't have two people in it at the same time. Over all the rooms were not bad at all. The beds were comfy enough. Now the PARKING was not that great. They had parking (If you could find a spot) in the front of the building. If not you had to go across the street behind a few shops to park in their other parking spot. So you have to make sure you get all your items out of the car unless you want to keep going across the street. I would recommend this hotel. I don't think I will ever come back to Virginia Beach because the hours we spent in the car with traffic we could of driven further down to the Carolinia's.…
