The location of this hotel is stellar, it is close to everything and right next to a stage where there are often some pretty well known musical acts (we were there during the Neptune Festival). However, it is very loud to stay on the north side of the hotel and there was usually live music every night until at least 9 pm. We had a corner room with oceanfront views from two windows, it was beautiful but the hotel was lacking in service and appears to be hurting. When we first arrived on Monday, the lobby was really dark and there appeared to be several lights that were not on. They turned all the lights on for the weekend (although there were several bulbs that were out). The next problem was the elevators, they were so slow. It was fine during the week but starting on Thursday, there was a line for the elevator everytime we needed it and we often didn't get onto the first car when we were in line in the lobby. At one point during our stay, the water went out and we were not notified. It took me a half hour and a call to the bellhop to even get anyone at the front desk on the phone to report the issue. I was told they were aware and there was an emergency they had to shut down the water in the building but it would be back on in 15-20 minutes. I waited 45 minutes, no water. Called again, they said another 15- 20 minutes. I waited 30 minutes, no water. I called again, they said 20-25 minutes. I asked if there were any working toilets in the building, they told me to go to the gym. However, when I left the room, I could hear the maid service running water in another room ON MY FLOOR! We also did not receive maid service for the first three nights of our stay. I didn't mind this too much as there was a notice in the room saying maid service was only upon request except for stays of four nights or more but our towels and coffee were not replenished for that time. After the third night, we received maid service everyday and they consistently gave us fresh towels and coffee. The maids were also very nice and attentive if we asked for anything. The final issue I had was there was no guide in the room. Nothing telling us where amenities were located in the hotel, room service menu or television guide. There was a channel guide on the TV, but no programming guide. They also provided us with a QR code for the room service menu but neither of our phones could read it.

Hotel's Favourite
From the very 1st few hiccups regarding booking to the final request for accurate billing post my birthday May19th my requests for an incredible oceanfront high floor “view” w/balcony were met and exceeded! In fact the accommodations restaurant staff front desk associates were so exemplary that we booked another 2nd room we were simply overjoyed by the hotel exteriors and amenities. Kudos to MrJoseph a concierge and ambassador for the hotel and a true outstanding individual that’s room choice and recommendations for me as a Hilton Diamond guest made us literally “rebook” a second room for our extended family. We were blown away!! Ms Alexis LeClaire (not sure if that’s her name) but a Sales IN HOUSE Supv was also exceptional in assisting between applications on the Hilton app vs the modifications with the property direct and the “wait” times that were exhausting but “do-able” as no doubt the bookings perhaps the 1st of the pre Memorial “Va Beach” season were well worth the rate and the wait!! Our hotel rooms spacious views were simply gorgeous from the 16th floor and spectacular in its effect! Kudos to all we will absolutely return again!!

I've never stayed at this particular Hilton due to the timing but was very happy at our choice. Staff was very professional and accommodating, and the facility was nice. We definitely enjoyed Catch 31, and Virginia Beach overall. Can't wait until next time.

My stay there overall was good. I just felt like communication between the staff seemed a bit all over the place. I scheduled for the room to be cleaned and nobody came. I had an issue in the morning with the breakfast buffet where I had to wait a bit for my son’s pancakes to be made (which honestly wasn’t the real issue). When they realized the order wasn’t in, I’m assuming they rushed it leaving us with some uncooked batter. They were understaffed so most of the time it was hard to call anyone for questions or help. And when my husband pressed the “bell boy” button as we were checking out, it lead him to Vallet. Eventually we spoke to someone who could help us. My favorite part of the hotel was the rooftop pool. The beach is always a plus. And the staff did the best they could with what they had. Not sure if I would want to do another long stay with two toddlers by myself all day, but if it was a getaway with my husband I would.

Such an amazing place to celebrate a birthday! The hotel was beautiful and has great amenities. The hotel staff made the experience unforgettable. They were unbelievable kind and helpful. We wanted to change rooms and Conner moved all of our stuff while we went to dinner so we didn’t have to do a thing. He even grabbed the stuff we forget to pack up. I would absolutely stay here again. From Faith and Tish at check-in to Isaac on the beach, it feels likes home.

This was our first time to Virginia Beach and after reading reviews on here, I was very nervous for our stay. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised and we had a lovely stay at the Hilton. The location was great- right in the middle of the strip. Live music outside the hotel every night- with rocking chairs to enjoy in or Catch 31 to sit at and grab a cocktail. Surrey bikes to rent, playground at the beach, Neptune statue for pics. ;) The elevator situation was an issue for a day and a half but then the third elevator was fixed and was never an issue again. We stayed in 3 rooms on the 17th floor and Amanda in reservations was super helpful in making sure we had connecting rooms/all on the same floor. The rooms were clean and although we did not request housekeeping during our stay, we were always able to get towels replenished when needed. The rooftop pool and hot tub were nice, and despite them being on the older side and maybe needing re-coping, they were clean and enjoyable. We used valet and the guys at valet were FABULOUS. We took our cars out almost every day and we never waited more than 5 minutes. (I have not had those prompt of service for valet in a very long time.) Lastly, the club level was nice. The staff, especially Chris (and his crew) were so friendly and helpful. Nothing fancy, but a good addition to make our stay even more comfortable. Thanks, VA Hilton, for making our family vacation such a good experience.

Room Tip: We had rooms by the elevators so used sound machines on our phones to ensure good night sleeps. :)

Roaches in the room / beds were uncomfortable / room wasn’t ready on time Bathroom and room lighting was dark. Pool was dirty and small - the infinity pool glass was dirty as well. There were lines to get on the elevators both on the floor and on the lobby. Concierge service didn’t work on Sunday - never saw anyone at the desk to be helpful in any way.

Our family stay at this Hilton was very disappointing to say the least. When we arrived at the hotel our vehicle(s) were unloaded onto the curb due to a shortage of luggage carts. My son and I were directed to go up to our room while our luggage was brought up. I did not have a keycard to get into our room (my husband and soon to be doughier-n-law each had a keycard) but the porter said that he would meet us up at our room and let us in. We waited at the door for 20 minutes. Finally Sabrina let us in with her card when she came up. We sat for over an hour waiting for our luggage. After approximately 75 minutes I went down to the front desk to check to see where our luggage was. (I had watched the porter take one rack of our luggage through a door beside the front desk.) There sat one luggage rack full of our luggage and all of our pillows, blankets and other necessities that should not be on a dirty floor, were sitting on the floor. Nothing was being watched. After waiting at the front desk for 15 minutes to get service, another porter was asked to bring our things to our room. After finally getting all of our things to our room, upon inspecting them, my gold weekender bag with all of my medication, jewelry, camera, and outfits for the weekend was nowhere to be found. I went back own to the front desk and they had no idea where my bag was. They said they would have to pull security footage to see where it was. I asked when that would be because we had dinner reservations and my clothes, makeup- everything was in that bag. I was told that it would be hours. I spoke to a second person to voice that this was not acceptable and that person went through the back door by the front desk and came out a couple minutes later with my gold bag. I asked for the manager to please call the room so that I could speak to her about the situation. Our personal items laying on the floor that should have been washed, my expensive bag being taken off the luggage rack (the first one) and placed somewhere in the back. The manager was standing there during this entire episode and never once came to speak with me or address the situation. She was not engaged with any other guests, on the phone, or doing anything. She literally looked the other way. And, she never called. 20% off of our room was offered by an evening staff desk person (who was extremely nice) and again, I requested the manager please call our room. Again, no call. We requested a microwave for the room and was told it would be there. No microwave. Another visit to the front desk- I was told that no microwave could be guaranteed because they were first come first serve, luck of the draw. Our reservation clearly had microwave on it and that it would be in the room. We had requested a cot for medical reasons for one of our family members- no cot. Another trip to the front desk, which includes a long wait for the elevator because one of them is out of service. I am told that due to fire codes we cannot have a cot. I was given bedding to place on the floor, to sleep on the floor. The air conditioner in our room would not work. The room would not get cool. A maintenance person was sent up to fix it. It worked for that evening. After going out for dinner and then going to bed, we all woke up sweating due to no AC. Our AC was never working correctly the entire stay. It was cooler outside (in July) than it was in our room. After another trip, you guessed it- to the front desk, we were told that another 20% would be taken off of our bill. When we got home, we were charged for the entire stay. No discount at all. After calling and reminding them of the multiple unacceptable situations that came about during our stay, 20% was taken off but the other 20% was refused. This was by far the worst stay at any Hilton or hotel I have had in years. I would not recommend this Hilton to anyone.

Absolutely number one hotel in Va Beach. The service is amazing. Particularly Sasha at the front desk, who bent over backwards to upgrade our room for our anniversary and wonderful Kiara at Tulu, who made sure we were totally taken care of. Partnered with neighboring, magical cavalier inn, these two properties provided a complete escape. We will be back !

Ants & partial non-view Upon checking in I was given the option of what floor level I wanted. Came in and saw that my corner rooms side view was of mostly the side of the building next door because I was only on the 5th floor. Called front desk to let them know it was an issue and the gentleman said they are full and it was not possible to switch. I don't believe that was the truth for several reasons. In addition, the bathroom had ants and gaps between wall, baseboards and floor which is probably making it easier for them to get in. They had to send maintenance up with bug spray, he spent 30 minutes killing gnats around our window, im guessing they were there because the grungy are appears to have some type of drainage pipes. They should have warned us that people where coming up to this area where the public doesn't have access because i was changing my clothes. Lastly, the space outside the balcony is very grungy which is completely taking away from my experience. I'm a very detailed and esthetic driven individual. Offering me pillows, blankets and a microwave is not compensating me for this experience. There was no suggestion of another type of room or discount. I will just take my business back to the Marriott on my next visit to the beach. You should let guests know that you have to be above the 5th floor to really have the corner view experience or not even offer this particular room (513) as a OCEAN FRONT CORNER VIEW. In addition the room had some mold around the shower as well. Have videos but can't upload.
