The accommodations were lovely in this B & B and Jim and Kay were the perfect hosts. I must say, however, that the breakfast was "out of this World." Even if not into fly fishing, one has to appreciate the lovely collection that Jim has accumulated of memorabilia on this subject. We certainly look forward to returning.

This B&B experience was so beyond what we expected in every way. You simply must stay here! The hospitality and food are perfect....amazing! I slept better than I have in weeks. My son built a fishing fly with their provided supplies and set up. They actually escorted us to the door of the blacksmithing institute on the second day because...

This was our first bed and breakfast experience. We were unsure of what to expect. We arrived late, after 10:30 PM. Our hosts were welcoming and gracious. Jim and Kay have a charming bed and breakfast that genuinely reflects their interests and their enthusiasm for caring for people. They took time to answer our many questions. The accommodations were very...

My Husband and I were at Wintergreen all day and checked into this very cozy well decorated house after a long day on the slopes. The house was built in the 1950's but you wouldn't be able to tell by the way they have it so elegantly decorated inside. There are canon balls on the book shelves and swords hanging...

The Speckled Trout is a terrific B&B conveniently located between the Shenandoah National Park and the start of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The B&B is nestled in a beautiful neighborhood of historic homes. Kay and Jim are wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the refreshments after checking in, as well as yummy molten lava chocolate...

Recently (10/2014) my wife and I spent a couple of nights here while visiting the area. We were both absolutely entranced by this wonderful B&B - from the fascinating memorabilia collected by the innkeepers to the comfort of the lodgings and the attentive care we received. But I am moved to compliment Kay for what has to be the BEST...

We have stayed in small hotels and B&B's in Europe, Australia and now the USA and the Speckled Trout is far and away the best B&B that we have ever stayed in. We could not think of anything that would have made our stay better. The rooms have beautiful period furnishings with bed linen of the highest order. We were...

I have nothing but the highest regard and recommendation for The Speckled Trout B&B. Recently stayed 2 very relaxing days/nights at the B&B. The hosts are attentive but unobtrusive. Kay is a wonderful hostess and prepares a delicious gourmet b'fast each morning, and great coffee.Jim has a wonderful collection of fly-fishing books, artifacts, books and tasteful decorations, and has many...

We stayed at the Speckled Trout for two days. Kay was the perfect host, spoiling us with superb breakfasts, dessert, warm conversations, etc . . . The very nice B&B sits in a quiet residential neighborhood in Waynesboro, close to the downtown (10 minute walk). Very cozy. Definitely would recommend.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a trip to The Speckled Trout during "leaf season". This was the perfect place to relax, take in the beautiful surroundings, and be within a short driving distance of other nearby towns and to the George Washington National Forest. As many reviewers already mentioned, part of what made this B&B so...

“We had the suite with the bathroom attached. The other rooms share a large bathroom. But all the rooms were beautifully appointed. There is a nice garden out back, a living room, and a library that are welcoming and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Ask and ye shall receive.”
