The Williamsburg Lodge Autograph Collection is a cute, authentically decorated property in the historic tourist area. Stayed recently for a conference and appreciated that I could walk to see things nearby. Lovely, friendly staff. My bathroom was small and the sink was tiny, which is a minor thing. Overall, a very nice stay. Shrimp and grits for breakfast was yummy! Arrived on a late night flight and concierge arranged a great car service, Patriot Shuttle. Highly recommend them for area transport and tours.

Booked a long weekend for my boyfriends birthday in early March 2024! Visited the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, strolled through Colonial Williamsburg and the many buildings (Courthouse, Governor's Palace, etc.), enjoyed a couple massage at the full-service Spa located directly across the street, and booked a walking ghost tour as well. Conveniently located and within walking distance of not only Historic Williamsburg, but also the many shops and restaurants surrounding the area. Plus they are dog-friendly! Helen, the front desk representative, was incredibly attentive, kind and accommodating! She truly made our stay here very memorable!

Really surprised this is an AUTOGRAPH level hotel in the Marriott family. It is certainly not up to par with what an Autograph property is. It's so tired, not well maintained at all - rooms, facility & service were all lacking Convenient to Historic Williamsburg, short walk to Colonial Williamsburg, their sister restaurant Christiana Campbell's Tavern & the King's Arm even at night. BUT the facilities & service severely need upgrading PROS: -Short walk to Colonial Williamsburg & shops -Lobby of the Lodge is nice -Room Package that included tickets to Colonial Williamsburg & Free cups of coffee or tea at the Cupboard -Rooms were spacious, nice large bathroom -Tina (Concierge) was very helpful and cheerful offering many good suggestions -Shuttle takes you to their sister restaurants & around Colonial Williamsburg CONS: -Expensive for what you're getting ($500/night) -$20/day to park your car in their garage if you can find a parking spot -Check In desk person was very difficult to understand. She had a very heavy accent & did not seem to understand what we were asking nor could she communicate clearly. It really sounded like she knew very little English. It was mumbling & unintelligible. -TICKETS are NOT GIVEN OUT at Check In, but you have to pick them up at the concierge desk the next morning which as you can well imagine there was a long line as everyone had to do this & another long wait ensured in the morning, since guests had questions & concierge had suggestions. Would be better if they had just given them out at check in -Our room was in the furthest building from the main lodge & you have to walk/wheel your luggage OUTSIDE under covered pathways through several keyed doors & if you're on the 2nd or 3rd floor you have to take the elevator up when you reach your building. In the summer, it will be humid & sweaty hot, in the winter it will be cold having to walk outside to get to the main lodge for breakfast, a cup of coffee or to take the shuttle. -the gym is across the street, so if you're sweaty after a workout you have to walk a distance in the cold to get back to your room -honestly, i thought the configuration of the entire place reminded me of a community college. Brick buildings arranged in a square with an open atrium/patio in the center of all the buildings. i actually thought it was a college with dormitories that had been converted into this hotel, but then i read the history & that it was designed like this. The rooms certainly felt like a dorm. -FURNITURE in the room had so many scuffs, dings, chips, missing veneer. Stains on the furniture, the lamp & even the wallpaper. The rooms were nicely decorated all in all, beds were comfortable. -BE CAREFUL the doors are not weighted very well & do not close automatically. You have to actually shut them yourself so when you leave or enter your room make sure you pull the door shut. THIS IS A SECURITY ISSUE. More than once we noticed other people's door to their room ajar. -WALLS ARE PAPER THIN - we heard our neighbor's conversation, their TV, their phone calls -NOT MUCH OF A VIEW, our room faced a residential house -While they provided a SHUTTLE, either they only had one shuttle or they were understaffed. One night we had dinner at Christiana Campbell's tavern & it was very late so we called for the shuttle. It took a good 1/2/hr for it to come while we shivered in the cold. Another group who also had been waiting for the shuttle gave up and just started walking back to the hotel. -SHOWER WATER PRESSURE was weak & TEMPERATURE was lukewarm -Felt HOUSEKEEPING MAIDS only did a quick refresh. Cups were either never removed/cleaned or just missing & never replaced. On the first day, we noticed a used coffee/tea pod in the coffee maker, not sure how long it's been there. Had to ask for extra towels every day because didn't have enough for all of us. Definitely didn't vacuum the carpets -Worst were the ELEVATORS in the buildings outside of the Lodge-part of the hotel. The interior of the elevators were all scuffed, scratched up. It looked so bad, They looked like service elevators or elevators in low income housing and was just missing the graffiti. There was obviously some sort of pipe / plumbing leak coming from above that dripped all over the outside of the elevator all the way to the parking garage & soaked the carpet. It was leaking between the building & elevator so when you step into the elevator you'll get dripped on. This has obviously been going on for awhile since the paint on the walls surrounding the entrance of the elevator was peeling. Not sure but Water & an Elevator that runs on electricity doesn't seem very safe -MAINTENANCE is bad. Old historic properties have their charm & we have stayed at older properties but this place is just not well maintained. it's always the little things you notice & I just don't think the property owners/managers notice these details like the bubbling of the wallpaper or the lifting of the veneer on the desks/ nightstands, caulking of the bathtub & sink that looks tacky. Some times you can overlook these things with superior service but even that was dismal. All together they leave an impression on the guests that screams neglect, budget or run down, instead of luxury, pampering & upscale. For being an Autograph Hotel & the price point they are demanding I expected much better. It's just such a disappointment. But we did love Historic Colonial Williamsburg itself.

If you want to stay in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg, the Williamsburg Lodge os for you. My room was spacious and comfortable. Colonial Williamsburg has a shuttle bus that stops in front of the hotel and you can easily walk to the historic area, which begins one block from the hotel. They also have a minibus that can pick you up and take you to the train station. My complaints about this hotel were about meals. I wrote a separate review of Traditions Restaurant. Needless to say, they replaced the formerly excellent breakfast buffet with a much smaller continental buffet so you have to order a la carte if you wish a cooked breakfast.

We recently stayed at the Williamsburg Lodge over New Years with our small children and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is historic and well-appointed with stunning Christmas decorations, including a fantastic gingerbread house display in the lobby. Everyone we encountered (the front desk, the bell services, the bar tenders at Sweet Tea & Barley, the housekeeping staff and the staff at the Cupboard) were extremely friendly and helpful which made the stay so pleasant! We booked a junior suite and it was lovely. The sofa bed that my son used was already made with all the sheets when we pulled it out and a crib was already in the room waiting for our younger son. Our king sized bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the double sinks in the bathroom. It was so nice to have a daily, thorough room cleaning with all the details and touches that you would expect at a luxury hotel. Thank you to the housekeeping staff who did a wonderful job! This sort of service is so rare since the pandemic and truly elevates the comfort of the stay. We also appreciated the convenience of the grab and go breakfast at The Cupboard. The hot sandwiches were delicious. The cocktails from Sweet Tea & Barley were also excellent!Unfortunately, the gift shop had surprisingly limited hours—basically the day time hours we spent at Colonial Williamsburg—so I was a bit disappointed we never made it there, but I also realize that it was a holiday weekend. Everything within Colonial Williamsburg is within walking distance of the hotel which was very convenient! We had a great stay and would definitely consider coming back!

Excellent hotel. Exemplary service. Lots of walking in Williamsburg but the Lodge provides a bus/car service to drop off/pick up when needed. Concierge went out of her way to accommodate us to include a free ticket for the day.

I stayed in the Tyler bldg. for 5 days. My room was updated and lovely. Staff were extremely helpful. They also have a shuttle that will take you within a 5 mile radius. The restaurant staff were very attentive. Caesar salad with grilled chicken was delicious. Will stay again.

Definitely not what it used to be. Absolutely does not live up to the Mariot Autograph label. Rooms are run down and dated, with damaged furnishings. Service is mediocre. All you get from this property is location.

We stayed at the Williamsburg Lodge a few days before Christmas in 2022 and again in 2023. In 2022, the room was great as well as the service and amazing breakfast buffet. We just got back this Christmas 2023 in staying there again and it was terrible. No breakfast buffet. It was replaced by a lousy continental breakfast we had to pay for, mold in the bathroom shower, water damage in the bathroom as well as in the parking garage, elevator, and around the ice machine. There was also an outside door that would not lock so anyone from outside could enter and walk the halls. The service had gone down hill as well. It appears no one checks rooms so that they can be properly maintained. Won’t be coming back.

Brought my family here to celebrate my 79th birthday. I paid for 3 rooms for 4 nights each. Way overpriced for a run down hotel. The rooms are in terrible shape. To top it off there was a fireworks show the first night and apparently they allow anyone to park on the hotel lot. We had 3 cars and had to drive around with babies for 30-49 minutes only to find no spots in the hotel we paid for This is unacceptable. This is only our first night of four and I regret staying here. Not a good experience.
