The Colonial Houses at Williamsburg were great. The location was perfect, the staff were so friendly, and we had a great stay. We ate at a couple of the taverns in Williamsburg, which was a fun experience.

We recently stayed at the David Morton House in Colonial Williamsburg's Colonial Houses. It is an excellent set up with a large bedroom and adjacent sitting room with a full private bath. You also have access to a full kitchen facility in the lower level of the house with a dining room which is ideal for larger groups. The rooms...

For the second time this decade we visited Colonial Williamsburg by "living" in one of the historic houses spread throughout this fantastic living history museum. The whole colonial town is truly a little jewel filled with attractive gardens and period buildings as well as restaurants that imitate the colonial era in Virginia. You can get up in the morning and...

We were pleasantly surprised with Colonial Williamsburg. Staying in the Colonial houses is a big treat; you'll feel like you stepped back in time hundreds of years ago. Make sure to buy tickets to events before you go including your carriage ride. Things get booked up very quickly. And if you like seafood, also make reservations well in advance for...

Colonial houses maintained by colonial Williamsburg might provide an opportunity to bring the colonial experience home but when dirty linens are found on the floor at check in, the garbage is collected and left with additional dirty linens on the front stoop for days there is an issue. Truly it was the mattress, bedding, and an absence of pillows that...

This is really a dream come true for me. When my parents took me to Williamsburg as a child I wanted to live there. Now, for a night or so, you can! With heat, electricity and indoor plumbing! Best of all possible worlds. The architcectural detailing of these little cottages is a wonder, the gardens are a dream.

My daughter andI stayed at the Colonial Houses while visiting the College of William and Mary. The rooms were comfortable and decorated authentically. We loved the stay - the rooms were clean and convenient. Our house was right on the Duke of Gloucester street and it was fun to wake up in the morning and see the street come alive...

We spent 2 delightful nights and 3 days at Williamsburg this week (May, 2017) We booked the Robert Carter Kitchen on the recommendation of the reservations clerk who we spoke with at Williamburg. She said it was 'off the beaten path' (which we loved!) and featured a sitting room with fireplace and trundle bed, and a second floor bedroom with...

We greatly enjoyed the sizable room, period furniture, and "hidden passageway" bathroom (it was opened so we could see it but the door blended into the wall when closed). Most of all, we appreciated the well-kept colonial garden behind the Chiswell-Bucktrout House. The included spa soap and shampoo even smelled delicious. I would not have paid that much for comparable...

Ok, so the houses are original or from the period, and they have all of the modern amenities. AC, water, toilets, showers. But they are old. Really old usually. And outfitted very nicely for the time. They aren't exceptionally clean but aren't dirty. They aren't amazingly comfy- he beds vary in quality and comfort. But so they work? Yep. We...
