Ok, so the houses are original or from the period, and they have all of the modern amenities. AC, water, toilets, showers. But they are old. Really old usually. And outfitted very nicely for the time. They aren't exceptionally clean but aren't dirty. They aren't amazingly comfy- he beds vary in quality and comfort. But so they work? Yep. We...

I recently stayed in the Colonial Houses at Colonial Williamsburg for 3 nights at the Brick House Tavern. The tavern has 16 rooms and mine was in the middle front of the 2nd story. The windows overlooked Duke of Gloucester Street just across from the Prentis Store. Staying in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg is perfect for seeing the sights...

We stayed for the second time at one of the Colonial Houses in Colonial Williamsburg, the George Jackson House this time. Located at the far end near the Capitol building, just behind Cristiana Campbell's tavern, it is a great location to explore the area. It is a little pricey, but you do get a very authentic experience. The rooms may...

Stayed at the Nicholas-Tyler Office for two nights during spring break. Great location in the historic district - close to the Williamsburg Lodge and one block from Duke of Gloucester Street where everything historic is happening. The house is divided so that the downstairs (2 full size beds, sitting room, bath) are rented separately from upstairs (1 bed, sitting area,...

My wife came back to Colonial Williamsburg for our 10th honeymoon anniversary. When we were there for our honeymoon, we stayed in Colonial Housing. This time I wanted to do that again, but wanted a full house instead of just a room. I searched through the Colonial Housing option on the Williamsburg website and then spoke to a nice representative...

Williamsburg Inn has several colonial homes in the historic area that are available to rent. We stayed in a downstairs room in a tavern near the market square. Location was perfect for all the sights and activities. The rooms are not elegant like the Inn but have canopy beds, fireplace, tv, etc. Bathroom was small but serviceable. We really enjoyed...

I highly recommend staying in these houses. The house we stayed in didn't have wifi, but that was fine. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I would say that the room was romantic and a great place for couples. Location was perfect and a quick walk to everything.
