This is a great location for a visit to Mt Rainier. The room was large, nicely decorated, and spotlessly clean. Microwave and refrigerator are included. The owners were very friendly and offered advice about where to eat in town (there are limited choices). I would highly

Just spent two nights here on a family trip to hike Mt. Rainier. Eric and Linda could not have been nicer or more accommodating. They were super helpful, and the location is great. Having breakfast was a huge help, as there are few restaurants around. I would definitely

For people who have never been to Mt Rainier and looking for lodging. All lodges to the south of the park look pretty similar to me from the outside, and are all located right off the road. All you need to decide is whether you want to stay near Ashford (southwest entrance) or

We had a room with a king size bed above the office. It was ideal. The room had been updated and done so very very well. Sometimes when a hotel updates, you still have the feel of some of the old parts in the tile or flooring or whatever. None of that was true here. The bed was

I find this review very deceiving. As I know the motel is known and legal name is Timberline Village motel, the only people that call it the Chateau, was a managment company that ran the place briefly, and there are some legal matters pending over them. So I question, if this person is just a friend of theirs, trying to ruin the reputation of the place. You can go to Facebook and see recent pics of this place, and you can tell how run down this place is as she states. Granted it's not brand new, but it is not as bad as she says. I know for a fact that there is someone available 24 hrs a day. There are messages everywhere as where the staff is at all times. There are two doorbells, along with a motion sensor that the manager carries everywhere with them, even to bed at night so they always know if someone is in the office. I know for a fact, that each room states exactly where you can get ice. I also know for a fact that there never was a broken fridge in any room, due to I take care of these things, and in the two years I have helped out here, there was only one fridge that broke, and the guest came to the office and we removed it and put a new one in. Also, yes they have a couple dogs there, they live way out in the mountains in an isolated area, so they are nice to have for protection. Though I also know, as I help with this too, that they clean up after the dogs. There are people that come up to this area and walk their dogs through the property and do not clean up after them. So yes I question the reliability of this review, and question their relationship to that previous managment company.
"No elevator so ask for room on first floor is you don't want to carry stuff upstairs."
"We had a room next to the creek, it was nice listening to the water flowing."
"For the price, go stay on Mt. Rainer instead. Make those reservations early."
"Higher floor rooms have less noise from kids running amok in their parents' room.."
"The 2 storey block is further from the road."
