This is an older property near the East entrance into Mt. Rainier NP (which was closed when we were there on May 2)...Marilyn was a great host and never saw her after we had checked in. We were in room #9 which had its own bathroom and a large double bed. If you go try to score room #10 which...

I took a break hiking the PCT and found a cosy room, and friendly and helpful folks. It felt like being in a movie . A really nice and good value contrast to the standard motel accomodations found elsewhere. Hitching back to White Pass was really easy.

Wonderful place to stay! 100+ year old hotel -Teddy Roosevelt actually stayed there. Like a time warp of a bygone era. Wonderful, friendly service. Very clean. Simple, warm - felt like going to your favorite aunt's house. Cozy living room downstairs, 9 bedrooms upstairs. 2 communal bathrooms with lots of towels and basket for used towels. Worked just fine. $50...

This is not a 5 star review for amenities....it is a 5 star review for price, charm, and hospitality. We have stayed there 3 times now. Once in a queen room ($40 a night) which has 2 shared bathrooms down the hall), and twice in the new "garden shed" out back ($75 a night)...which is a private cabin with a...

I always stay at Hotel Packwood when skiing at White Pass. The low price cannot be beat. Not everyone will like having the bathroom down the hall, although there are 2 rooms with bathrooms. The owners are super friendly. The living room area is very comfortable. I really like the old time Western ambiance. And it is walking distance to...

Okay: Proprietor Marilyn, the Hotel, staying in the same room as Teddy Roosevelt once did, the elk visits, the proximity to the Grove of the Patriarchs (Rainier) and the incredibly affordable price are all great... but Jed (her yellow lab) is the star of the show! We love "vintage", casual, warm, well-loved accommodations, and The Hotel Packwood, founded in 1912,...

Honestly, when we learned the low price of a night's stay we were concerned about the accommodations, but based on the reviews we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed. We had one of the rooms with a private bath, and although it was small, it was very clean and comfortable. The first evening we observed a herd of...

I had stayed her about 6 years ago and it's still a cute, comfortable place to stay. The room was big (had a queen & a daybed with a trundle) that fit the 4 of us perfectly. It is outdated but added to the charm of the place. The tv was really old and we never turned it on but...

I stayed here three nights. The hotel is very clean. The hosts are pleasant and accommodating. The room was pleasant. The only downside of the hotel was noise. It seemed to me that the floors were thin. Footsteps reverberated as if they were sounding boards. I would stay here again if I could get a second floor room.

Was looking for a place to stay for the night to get some hiking in for 2 of us. Was nervous about Hotel Packwood BUT after reading the reviews here decided to give it a try. Called Marilyn and she was able to book us into a room with no problem. Price was good, bed was sleepable, bathrooms were accessible...
