You couldn't ask for a more peaceful, friendly place to stay. Very clean with some private rooms and two gender-specific shared dorms. Managers live on-site and go out of their way to make you feel at home from wonderful fresh baked bread in the morning to careful directions to areas of interest. The hostel is within Fort Worden State Park...

My wife and i have been coming to this hostel for years, for an annual event in Port Townsend. When asking to make a reservation for next year, we were told that the hostel was closing in December 2011. Very sad indeed, as this is about the only "budget" accommodation in this very touristy area. The setting is beautiful, and...

This hostel is somewhat similar to the hostel in SF. Both located in former forts. The olympic hostel is much smaller (and so is Port Townsend) compared to the HI Hostel in SF. Because of its size, you can really socialize with the other guests if you want to. Kitchen is okay, not great. Staff is very helpful and very...

We totally loved this place. We brought my 11 year old niece and rented a small private room (#8). The room was sparse, but looked out on the little garden, which was gorgeous. This place rocks. Absolute quiet at night, baby raccoons playing outside our window, deer, birds, etc. in the morning. Great trails to walk and run on--fantastic beach....

We went from a 3-4 star hotel the night before to here so we were expecting a bit of a transition! Staff was very friendly but you could tell he had given the same information spiel over and over again. Location is gorgeous, views of the park at breakfast, short walk to the cliffs. We walked into town easily enough...

Wooden blocks, games, acres and acres of woods, beach and the 1890's ruins of military bunkers, dark passages bring your flashlights kids love!!! this. The hostel overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca, a Scottish castle replica ( small brick building ) They've got their own organic garden that anyone's...

My husband and I stayed for one night at the Olympic Hostel. For what you pay it delivered. It felt very safe with a family atmosphere. We were assisted right as we came in and shown to our room. We had a private room that was neat and functional. They offer an all you can eat pancake breakfast in the...

The place was fine but the manager was not. She made a couple of problems much more unpleasant than they needed to be, and I left feeling a little depressed. Only the next day did I realize that my down mood was due to the manager's judgemental attitude. In sum, a nice place in a nice setting, but the manager...

My husband and I stayed in a private room at this hostel. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom was right outside the door of our room. The location in Fort Worden State Park is great for exploring Port Townsend, Olympic National Park, and Fort Worden State Park itself. Although this is not a luxury accommodation,...
