I stayed at Douglas Fir Campground the last week of July 2015 in one of the few tent-only sites. Site 9 has to be one of the best sites in the whole campground. It was quite spacious and actually had two tent pads, one in the "normal" camp area near the picnic table and fire pit, and one down a... More

First of all, I need to tell you that we actually stayed at the Silver Fir campground (not available on TripAdvisor). Silver Fir is one of the most scenic campgrounds I've ever stayed at. We left Vancouver, BC early on a Friday morning in July to get one of the first-come-first-serve spots. Got to Douglas Fir about 10 am, all... More

This is a very nice site for car camping when you are visiting the Heather Meadow area in Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The campsite is off of SR 542 (Mt Baker Hwy) and is situated along the Nooksack River. There are 29 tent/trailer sites. All campsites appear shaded by large trees. Privacy: average to above-average. Sites: well-spaced. Amenities: very limited... More

“I think #6 is one of the largest sites at Silver Fir, we could easily fit three tents. Many of the sites at Douglas Fir looked smaller and could maybe fit two tents. It all depends on whether you get a site in the woods or by the river (river sites are bigger).”
