The owners hired REALLY CREATIVE photographers, because the pit we walked into was NOTHING like the website photos! The room was so small that you could hardly turn around in it, the plastic blinds by the bed were cracked and some were missing (Nice for...More
My husband and I had stayed in the "cabins" at Hoarbor Resort several times before. It was my birthday and I decided I would like to go to Westport (which I LOVE) with a friend to buy some fish/seafood. Having been to Harbor Resort in...More
My husband, son, daughter-in-law, their 3 young children and I rented the cottages for one night, possibly two. Costing over $140 for one and $129 for the other, we expected a pretty decent place to stay...OH.....were we in for a big surprise. As soon as...More
Based on the reviews I'd read, I didn't expect much and I got worse! Pretty much everything in our room was broken...the blinds fell down when we tried to open them, smoke alarm went off due to steam from the bathroom, couldn't figure out how...More
We had a reservation for two nights for $129 a night plus $10 daily pet fee. The unit we were given had a strong odor of mold, the futon/sofa in the sitting area was broken. The bedding was dingy but we decided to make the...More

We are not the owners or staff, but have stayed there many times over the last 30 years. When we first stayed there rooms were $20 per night. We go there to fish and crab off the dock, which is just outside the door. We get a room with a kitchenette to cook the crabs. This is NOT a resort type place with amenities. It is more like a fishing shack. No real "services" other than the store that sells trinkets, milk and bait with crab ring rentals. Our room didn't smell bad last time we went. Clean enough if you don't have a baby crawling on the carpet. Not a place to lay around the room and enjoy yourself, a place to use the dock, and sleep after adventuring. We haven't seen any bugs. You really can't compare this place to a best western or even motel 6.
We would stay there again, because we like to put in the crab pot, go back to the room and watch some tv, then pull up the crab pot and check it. We like taking our own trailer better and staying in one of their rv spaces and do the same thing.
It just really depends on what kind of traveler you are, and how important amenities are. Hope this helps.
