We stayed just overnight in Winthrop and we'll come again! Mt Gardner Inn has to be THE cleanest hotel room we've ever stayed. Not a spec of dust. Great attention to detail and the staff knowledgeable about the area. Exceeded our expectations and highly recommend...More

The big question for the Methow Valley in May is whether or not the North Cascades Highway is open. You can get there when it's not open, but you have more options when it is open. There is a wsdot webpage that lists historic opening dates. I normally go in winter, but I have been there over Memorial Day weekends a couple times. The weather is typically warm and dry then.
