we wanted to get away from it all, no cells, no computers, and no stress. this was the most peaceful stay we ever had. I loved the room with it's woodsy theme, and honestly I have no idea what anyone is saying about the water (maybe they were showering during the cooking hours hense less hot water). I showered, my...

We spent 2 nights here for an anniversary weekend and would return again. Had some trouble with the TV in our room but the owner came right up to work on it. He was a really nice fellow and we had a pleasant chat while he fiddled with it. He moved us to another room so we could watch the...

If you are taking a ride on the Cass railroad then this is the place to stay. Cass, WV is a very isolated location so there are not a lot of options available. The lodge sits across the river from the old Company town of Cass. Beautiful view of the town and the river. There is also a field between...

It was relaxing and enjoyable. Lots to see. Lots to do. This is within so many places to add to your must see list. Would recommend it to anyone who is into the wild and wonderful views of West Virginia. Will definitely return again and again. Seneca Caverns, Smoke Hole Caverns and Dolly Sodds are all close to here.

My husband and I spent several days touring the NRAO Green Bank Radio Telescope and Science Center. We stayed in a wonderful lodge nearby, Bear Creek Lodge in Cass WV. Our room was very clean, bed comfortable and we had a great view of the Greenbriar River and Cass Scenic Railroad Depot. All 8 rooms share a full length balcony...

When we got there our room was showing the temperature of 91. We went to turn on the air conditioning to no avail. We went to the front desk and was advised that there had been problems with the air and it should be coming back on soon. Later when we went to sleep it still was not on in...

If you want a Hilton & room service...keep driving& open your wallet. Our whole family stayed July 4th weekend & absolutely found a GREAT gem with the Bear Creek Lodge/diner. My wife and I stayed here for one night after riding the Cass railroad in the afternoon. In general, the hotel was very clean with comfortable beds. There is one long community balcony outside all of the rooms that faces the stream and railroad depot. The rooms are on the second floor over a gift shop/breakfast/pizza restaurant. The people that...

I was lucky to find this little gem nestled in the woods of "Nowhere", WVa. Okay, it's actually Cass, WV. Had I just been driving through I might never had stopped. But I needed a hotel close to the Greenbank Telescope, and this one offers no minimum stay! Don't let the old country store exterior fool you. The room was...

After an all day bike ride on the Greenbrier River Trail we stopped in at the Bear Creek Lodge/ Rt 66 Outpost to find something to eat. Rachel fixed us up with a scrumptious veggie pizza and cold beers. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful.
