1st impressions was not great. But always give things a chance.... As we pulled up to the house the yard was mowed, but grass was everywhere. It looked like hay laying in a field. Grounds were not kept very well. Walked into the front door and it was cramped, dark, dingy and stuffy. We were taken through the bottom level... More

We're sorry for any guest that is not happy, but always ask that they tell us if there is a problem. Our pricing policy is clearly stated on our website and have not had any issues about it before. I dont believe this review is about the food or heat, as we could have made accommodations to help if they... More

Larry and Paula made our stay perfect with restaurant suggestions and trail advice. Only three miles to the Trail and Larry even shuttles people if need be. We loved the quiet zone and gazing at the stars at night.

Chestnut Ridge Country Inn is a wonderful B&B tucked away in the small community of Dunmore in West Virginia but very close to larger towns and many activities such as Cass & Durbin Railways, Bear Town, the Greenbrier River Trail, Snowshoe Resort, and Greenbank Observatory. Larry and Paula were excellent hosts. The breakfast is outstanding and very filling. Paula is... More

Chestnut Ridge was a wonderful place to come "home" to after a day of riding our motorcycle through the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. Larry and Paula are great hosts and made us feel right at home. Looking forward to returning in the near future

We decided to stay here as we made last minute plans to go skiing at nearby Showshoe. Must say that we found this place to be an excellent choice as compared to the over-pricey accommodations at the hill. Both Larry and Paula are excellent hosts and we loved their new addition "Bear" as part of the overall experience. We were... More

Larry and Paula Garretson welcomed me to their restored farm house in a Pastoral setting while attending and competing in the West Virginia Road Kill Cook Off. In spite of being busy all week with the preparations for the cook off. Larry welcomed me and allowed me to check in early. Even though this was my first time to stay... More

We just returned to Charles Town after staying Friday-Saturday, August 22nd. I was pleasantly suprised to find a highly rated B&B near Cass. Everywhere else seemed to be lower rated. We arrived about 7pm from work and were immediately greeted by Paula and Larry, who promptly gave us the tour. The B&B is set in an 1890 farmhouse, so there... More

If you are looking for simplicity, wholesomeness and peace, this is the place to be. A great place to explore the Greenbrier Valley and the Cass Scenic Railway. Great food in Snowshoe. But the highlight of this lovely home is the warmth, hospitality and genuine love and concern given by the lovely hosts, Larry and Paula. As a guest you... More
