My 2 sister-in-laws and I stayed here in September of 2015 and upon check-in we were told the curfew for noise is 10 p.m. Well, about 11 p.m. a very large BoyScout pack arrived and very noisily set up their camp. Okay, no enforcement and I walked up to the check in building and could not find anyone to help...

Hi Barbara- We are so sorry you had a noisy camping experience at Wheeler's Campground. We live onsite and prefer to respond to noise complaints promptly; most often people call (the office phone number is right on the map) or ring the doorbell after hours. We hope scout troops and leaders will enforce their Scout Law (including being kind and...

I've been camping at Wheelers since 1989. If you're looking for a beautifully wooded, well kept and quiet place to camp this is the place. For late night drinking games head over to the state park campground. I've seen a few bad reviews for wheelers and I can tell you if you're up drinking, yelling and laughing late into the...

Stopped here last minute and couldn't have been happier. Had a couple of really nice sites along the creek. The campground is very clean and very quiet. We had some neighbors across the creek that started blasting music pretty late. The owners quickly addressed the matter then stopped by our site to apologize. The next time I'm camping in the...

We came in and chose a last minute campsite based on availability and we liked it a lot. At checkin, the male owner joked that if it rained a lot, we would have to move and we'd have to move quickly. After we set up camp, it continued to rain and he came over and told us the creek was...

Sauk County has been plagued with flash flood warnings since the end of August. If the owner of a campground comes to your site suggesting you move to higher ground for your own safety it's a good idea to heed the warning. We do the best we can to communicate clearly with campers in a potentially dangerous situation without creating...

Had a fantastic time tent camping at Wheeler's, we stayed at a wooded site and it was a good size and felt private. The owners were really welcoming, even at our arrival very close to the cut off. We were guided to our site and asked multiple times if there was anything they could assist us with, enquiring about our...

This was our second trip to Wheeler's. We stayed with other couples on a multiple sites by the creek. We loved our sites. We did not have electricity but that's camping life. I know other sites have water and electricity. Our site had lots of tree coverage to prevent heat during the day. It was a little hike to the...

The owner is horrible. Harassing us from day 1. He is extremely rude. Won't let guests come in to visit us even though it was visiting hours, couldn't have alcohol or play any games at our site. Must not do more than a whisper after 11. Can't even giggle in your camper n he comes pounding away on ur door...

Wheeler's Campground promotes a peaceful camping experience. All the rules are posted on our website www.wheelerscampground.com. It is our responsibility to respond to noise complaints (we had several concerning these campers). Late night drinking games invariably result in noise complaints here. Over a three night stay, there was one management visit to their site.

I will admit that I was a little nervous about staying here after reading the recent reviews. I am happy to report that this is a fabulous private campground. The grounds are very clean and there are a lot of large trees that provide shade. I was happy about the 11pm quiet time. My friends and I were waking up...

We are a quiet, Christian family. We did not appreciate the owner, Mark creeping around our site at night, waiting for us to go above a whisper. We had heard bad things from friends but decided to give it a try, but never again! There are many, many other family-friendly campgrounds to choose from. Heed the bad reviews, I wish...

There is an 11pm quiet hour, and we do respond to noise complaints any time of day for the well being of all our campers. The majority of people who stay with us appreciate the quiet, peaceful camping experience WCG offers.
