I have been visiting Black's Cliff since 1999. I spent my honeymoon there & my husband and I spent our first Christmas there. I've gone with a large group of friends who are always jealous when I go without them. I've gone every season. I think I've stayed in every cabin except Eagle's Nest. The kids love it - the...

The resort is in a beautiful area of the northwoods of WI. We have stayed here for years...spring, fall, and winter. The cabins have always clean and they are well appointed. The resort is within 15 min. of Minocqua Winter Park, a premier cross-country ski area. In spring and fall it is within great biking, hiking, and kayaking. The cabins...

The resort is a wonderful place to stay, it's clean, up to date and has everything that you could want. We've been vacationing there for 11 years with our family, we're now going there 4 times a year. The owners go out of there way to make your vacation perfect and we always have a great time.

Blacks Cliff resort looked perfect when I first found the website, the pictures made this establishment seem like the perfect place to spend time with my family and friends. It wasn't until I arrived that I found the flaws. Our cabin wasn't ready for us when we arrived at the time given to us. When we finally got into our...

Since our Scottie furkids are family to us----it is important that we get to take them along on vacation. This is our 4th year returning to Blacks Cliff Resort....we continue to be delighted with the quiet and ambiance that this special place holds for us. My fave is the swinging bed on the screened in porch that every cabin has....

Yes, it's true that these are rustic cabins, but this is a unique and wonderful property for boating, swimming, hiking, fishing and just relaxing. Everything was very clean and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything from wineglasses to a spoon rest. The swinging bed is worth the stay all by itself. We just let our hair down and enjoyed...

My family stayed for a week in the Wigwam, a rustic Northwoods style 3 bedroom/1bath cabin. The furniture in our cabin was very clean, comfortable, and it coordinated well. Our cabin had a large screened in porch (with a swinging bed), a small living room with flat screen TV & VCR, a couch and sleeper/love seat and 2 recliner chairs....

Broken furniture and appliances, no amenities at all, several things in the cabins and on the resort were in such disrepair that they were downright unsafe, the cabins look like they were decorated with odds and ends of unsold rummage sale leftovers. And that's not the worst part. The worst is the service or the lack of it. The place...

Please read all the other reviews of our resort to see that this review is not the way most folks feel about our resort. We run a very well maintained and up to date resort. You have but to look at our website to see we are one of the nicest resorts in the MInocqua Area. It is sad that...

We have stayed at Black's Cliff's for 5 years now. We call this our new family tradition. As written elsewhere, this is how "Up North" was once upon a time. Whispering pines, clear blue water, quiet, relaxing, friendly. Close enough to Minaqua to partake in mini-golf, bike trails, nature parks, go-karts and so on. Free ski show at the Landings....

Black's Cliff is the kind of cabin resort that used by everywhere in nothern Wisconsin. This is a great place for families with kids ages 7-14. The younger kids may find the lake a bit cold, and older ones may want more action. Black's has cabins of all sizes perched on the shore of Lower Kaubashine Lake. A steep climb...

“The cabins are up a hill from the lake so you have to use the stairways to get down to the lake. There isn't much for beach but the lake has a nice swimming area that is shallow, clean and safe. The setting is gorgeous but if you have folks in your group who have problems with stairs, or little ones that like to run off, you might not find this location ideal. Otherwise, it really is beautiful.”

“Only possible downfall to some would be that the cabins are up on the hill-need to walk a well manicured path/staircase down to the lake. No problem for most folks but would be for say, my mother.”

“If you can afford it, and/or are sharing like we did, I recommend the private homes over the resort as cabins are close together”
