Beautiful Northwoods lodge with rooms at a very good price. Rooms clean, a/c units, indoor pool, bar and restaurant. Hours of bar and restaurant change so plan ahead..this time the restaurant is closed Sunday &Monday, bar closed on Sunday. Our room was a studio with kitchen, comfortable bed, hot shower/bath. For the price, great deal! Wi-if worked without cutting out and tv had many channels. Cell phone reception was good too. This place is a winner!

Golf course is terrible! Spotty greens and concrete fairways. Golf carts are ancient. Bunkers are gravel not sand. Fairways are mostly dirt. Extremely over priced. You can drive 15 minutes and golf better courses, Big Sand or Eagle River, for the same price.

Thank you for your response. The Gateway Lodge is not affiliated with the Golf Course. When our complex was originally built the golf course was part of our property, but hasn't been in many many years

Stayed one night at the Gateway in June of 2020... The receptionist was fantastic, but from there the experience went downhill. We were given our room key on first floor, upon entering the room strange smell of vomit was noticed , coming from the carpet next to the bed and the room was also abnormally cold... Tried to turn on the heat, but it wouldn't work. We asked the front desk clerk how to operate the heating unit, as we thought maybe we were doing it wrong. She told us the heat was turned off inside the entire hotel. She said when the hotel closed in March for Covid, they never turned it back on. The temps were getting down to 37 the night I stayed there and the clerk said, they couldn't turn it on, and said I should put a extra blanket on the bed. At this point, I should have left and stayed somewhere else. But decided it wouldn't be that bad. Went to the casino and came back a couple hours later and it was freezing in the room.. It was so bad, my husband had to turn on the electric stove to try to warm the room up... I proceeded to take a hot shower thinking that would help warm me and the room up. I stepped into the tub and found a good amount of long black hair, obviously someone isn't cleaning it well. Went to bed and woke several times during the night, freezing cold.. Awoke for the morning at 7am and it was literally 59 degrees in the room... It was so cold, we literally dressed in five minutes and checked out. When you are having guests pay over $100 a night, you should at least have heat for their room if they need it. If I wanted to be cold during the night, I would have just camped.. First and last time I stay there..

Good atmosphere and overall old lodge vibe, nice enough rooms- we had a studio that was plenty big with a pleasant view toward the back- good restaurant and bar- Sunday night bartender was a good guy.
