We have been going to Shady Rest Lodge for over 10 years. I have 4 children and each of my 3 siblings have 3+ children. Since everyone is busy with their own lives, we only have the opportunity to get together during holidays unless we prioritize something. Shady Rest Lodge is located near Rhinelander, WI on a private peninsula. The...

We enjoyed a very nice quiet peaceful getaway weekend up here at the Shady rest lodge. Very easy access off of highway 8. We stayed in cabin 6 and enjoyed the lake view from the sitting room as well as from the screen porch. Very nice and clean modern restroom was a plus as well.

Our large family occupied several units. We had a fabulous time. The resort is rustic but very nice. Having breakfasts and dinners included relieved a lot of stress. We learned that a lot of the things we brought were unnecessary as they were already provided. We have been searching for years for a place that could accommodate all of us...

We spent a week here bit was a truly fabulous experience. Brad and Amy were very accommodating and organized. The kids loved hanging out at the beach and fishing. One of the kids in our group caught 60+ fish off the dock! There is water skiing, tubing, and wake boarding daily. It was very organized and fair. The boat drivers...

Our family has been visiting this resort almost every summer since 1970 and each visit ends with us planning the next trip. Brad and Amy have done a great job carrying on the tradition that the Fease family started. This resort is exactly what you would hope for when visiting the north woods. The cabins are cozy, rustic, and each...

This was our tenth year at Shady Rest! Our extended family of grandparents, parents and grandchildren (30 of us in total this year) meet every year for a week in July. Over the years we have gotten to know Brad and Amy and watch their kids grow up. They are a wonderful family and they attract a wonderful staff. Shady...

Have brought our extended family here for 3 years, and find this the best way to reconnect and have a fun time!! So many activities for toddlers through teens! Kids can learn to waterski & even our adults love tubing behind the speed boat! The ladies love the pampering of meals served in the lodge, and everyone loved the delicious...

We've visited this lodge two times in the past few years in summer. It's a great place if you've little kids and don't want to drive around for any activities. Cabins are very basic but since they are all so close to the water and beach, you'll be spending most of the time outdoors with the scenic lake and trees...

We went to Shady Rest for a weekend. We have done many weekends in different locations and for the price of this one the lodging conditions were not the value we have found elsewhere. The lake is very pretty and we enjoyed the sunsets. There are kayaks which we enjoyed to tour around the lake, two paddle boats, one of...

In addition to having family living on Lake Manson, we decided to rent a cottage from Shady Resort to have extra space across the lake. By doing that, we were able to pontoon and kayak back and forth as weather allowed. We were fortunate to have a beautiful Labor Day weekend, high seventies, summer warmed lake water, and lots to...
