We stayed for 2 nights, the room was tastefully decorated and the bed was really comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the only let down is the quality of the breakfast which does not match the high level of the other services provide. The food was below standard- over cooked eggs, lukewarm and unseasoned mushrooms and tomatoes- also the...

We visited to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful lunch, good service and lovely local food. Perfect location before going off to Christmas by Candlelight at Holkham Hall. Hopefully next time can get near the fire

We visited for a special birthday weekend. The rooms were absolutely lovely and the bathrooms done to a fabulous specification. The reception staff really good and I though the quality of the food was also good, proper bacon and sausage for the English breakfast. Car parking ticket given at reception also covered local car parks at beach and holkham hall...

Never have I been anywhere so friendly to dogs!!!! Dogs allowed at dinner and breakfast, and the bar, and the snug, and the rooms..... I already loved this place before we brought the dog but adding the dog adds another level. The beach is amazing, the service is lovely and warm, the food is great, what more do you want???...

We came for lunch. The ambience and the comfort is fine. Very friendly and helpful staff, lots of space, roaring fires and comfortable and spacious dining room. But sadly the food is very average, probably because the menu is too ambitious. If you are going to offer lobster Thermidor then you have to know how to cook it. The fish...

We stayed there last weekend as a family to celebrate the 40th birthday of our youngest son. What a good choice we made! The bedrooms in the Ancient House are comfy and up to date. The family room shared by my son, wife and grandsons was huge, room 11. They were thrilled with it. Our room, room 12 was a...

We stayed in the Victoria Inn on Saturday night and ate in the restaurant in the evening. We were seated in the conservatory, which is so beautifully decorated – smart and modern, yet cosy at the same time and very complimentary to the older part of the building. We love that guests are able to have their dogs with them...

This hotel has lots of character . The 2 fires were lit and roaring all day - perfect when the weather is miserable and cold outside. The drawing room was a lovely place yo sit and warm up ,maybe a glass of port and a game of scrabble. Bedrooms knitted out to a good standard in keeping with the age...

We found the Victoria Inn whilst searching online for a place to stay on the Norfolk coast. The hotel is at the entrance to Holkham Hall (well worth a visit if you have several hours to spare!) and was very easy to find with plenty of parking. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. We stayed in the main part...

What a find arrived at 1140 having walked from Burnham overy Staithe. Had a coffee and ordered early lunch from excellent choice. Whilst ordering the whole place had filled up. We checked for a table in resturant we were told bookings only....take note. So we ate in bar area although some people ate outside. The food was fresh plentiful and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing at the gateway to Holkham and the National Nature Reserve, The Victoria is a classic English inn owned by the Coke family and managed by the Holkham Estate. There are ten elegant, indivually designed and stylish bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. We are ready to welcome more guests in spring 2015 with the addition of a further ten bedrooms just across the road from The Victoria in one of the oldest buildings on the Holkham Estate: Ancient House. The building has been converted to provide ten additional bedrooms, including four spacious family room. The sympathetic refurbishment has retained many of the building's original features, combining authentic charm with luxurious modernity. The bar and dining rooms at The Vic offer a relaxed blend of style and comfort. We serve delicious locally sourced food, much of it grown and raised on the estate, with a bold emphasis on freshness, simplicity and value. Holkham has been a leading agricultural estate since the 1800's when Thomas William Coke bought the site and the young Queen Victoria elevated him to the peerage in recognition of his contribution to farming in 1837. The name of the proposed new inn must have been inevitable when it opened its doors in 1838. ... more   less
