We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon while driving through. We had been here years ago and wanted to relive the experience. This is a fascinating Old West hotel with a fully functional saloon and separate cafe, or Eating House as they call it. Our lunch was very good and after lunch we wandered through the historic old...

I booked the Owen Wister suite, and, as I'm used to family owned, historic hotels, I kind of knew what to expect. I liked the room, I felt as if I had stepped by in time. No tv, no coffee maker, no shower, only a claw foot tub, carpet rather old and worn, but it was just as if I...

I called and made a reservation a week in advance and was told to call in the morning for payment. I spent the evening arranging an overnight sitter for my four children, it is my wedding anniversary and I wanted to visit somewhere non-commercial and special. I called this morning and was told she was too busy and to call...

We did not stay in the hotel, but as this is a historical building from the movie "The Virginian" we stopped by to have lunch and to check out the rooms. The building is more than 100 years old and the rooms and architecture also to a large extent. One must say that the rooms have been upgraded to meet...

Small, dirty and overpriced. Staff was friendly but that is about the only nice thing i can say. Oh and they conviently forget to tell you about their NO refund policy, so if you check out early they keep your money. I've had better night sleep in my truck at a rest stop. Reccomend you find someplace else as the...

stayed in what they call "the Cabins". Room was dirtier then most abandoned places. Make sure to bring your own soap and shampoo. the floors were disgusting, so make sure to bring shower shoes. The shower head was only 4 feet high, making it very difficult to wash your hair. They originally tried to charge $72 for the room but...

This is an interesting old hotel. The original part is over 100 years old with beautiful old (dusty) furnishings. Most rooms are tiny with bathrooms down the hall. There are no electrical outlets in rooms or bathrooms. The beds are pretty saggy. I recommend staying in one of the suites; there is one per floor. The second floor suite is...

This is one of the hardest reviews I have had to write. I really need to write about the hotel and then about the surroundings. The hotel is old and does not have many modern things in the room such as air conditioning or refrigerators. What it does have are rooms with great wallpaper, beautiful old furniture and vintage curtains....

If you are looking for a plush, up-to-date, modern hotel modern city hotel, this is not the place. If you need a place to stay while in the middle of nowhere, and you value helpful, accommodating staff and the food that is very good western saloon fare, this is definitely the place. I stayed in the west annex. It was...

We found the Virginian Hotel to be terribly dirty... found hair in our sheets, so I found a linen closet and changed my own sheets. I did not want to walk on the carpet with my bare feet! Then, to add insult to injury, I got sick on the food and passed out in the bathroom splitting my lip and...
