They thankfully had a room. The motel is small and off the beaten path. Room was small, very clean, homey and comfortable. Bathroom really small but fine and towels were great. Very quiet and peaceful. Owners very nice. Breakfast is more cereal oriented but fresh everything. Definitely where one should stay when in the area. They have access to a... More

We spent one night at Pines Motel on our way to Yellowstone. The motel is on a quiet road, set back from the street, so is delightfully peaceful at night. The owners were very pleasant, and gave us directions and suggestions for an evening walk and dinner options in town, which is a short walking/driving distance. Breakfast provided is simple,... This motel was totally awesome. The owners were very friendly. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Most importantly the bed was so comfortable. This was so much home away from home. We really appreciated this wonderful place. We have been on the road for 10 days and staying overnight each night and this was definitely the best place of all of... More

We chose the Pines as our base to explore the Black Mountain area as we didn't want to be too close to Sturgis during the annual bike rally. Everything about the Pines was ideal. Rachel was a great, unobtrusive host. The motel is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Definitely would recommend this place to others, and will definitely return on my... More

This place is retro in a good way. It brought me back to my younger days of staying in motels as a kid. The room was pleasant, quiet and comfortable. The new owner Rachel and Jins were very kind. Other than the d=fact that I didn't have access to decaffeinated coffee, it was a flawless stay.

We came to Newcastle for a family reunion and memorial service for Dorthy Johnson. Your motel is very nice, very clean and our stay was a wonderful experience. Love the setting back in the pines. It was quiet, shady, and the management went above and beyond. Thank you.

Quiet and secluded. The owners were very friendly and keep the rooms clean and like a home away from home. There aren't many motels in this town, but we think we made the best choice for the night. If we ever get back to this area we will definitely stay here again.

Family owned. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room and bathroom very clean. Quiet area. A very enjoyable experience for our family. My daughter stated it felt like being at home not a motel feeling.

We stayed at the Pines Motel for 4 nights while visiting family and exploring South Dakota. With a great location away from the highway (which is where most of the other hotels were located), it was nice and quite for our entire stay. The rooms were clean although the decor is quite outdated. Some fresh paint would do wonders! My... More

Enjoyed the stay at the Pines. Great location off the beaten path, although close enough to downtown for long walk. Nice and quiet. Nice and clean. Plan to stay there again when I return for vacation. Ridiculous that this comment has to be 200 words or more.
