We stayed here 3 nights while we visited Kona. This hotel has an old Hawaii charm and is very laid back and definitely a bargain, considering prices in Kona. It was about a 10 minute drive into town, and it actually felt good to leave the city each night. We went to sleep to the sound of frogs croaking and woke...

Aloha and mahalo for your honest feedback. We are so happy that you were able to enjoy your stay and most importantly, feel safe and comfortable. Our 1926 hotel certainly has a charm of its own and though we would love to be able to bring the hotel to its full potential, it's just a matter of a short time...

We ended up heading back into Kona for one last night and needed a place to stay that was not $$$$. Easier said than done. I eventually found the last room they had on Air BnB. Stacy was really friendly and helpful, telling me how to book on Air BnB and fully explaining that this was an old hotel with...

I have visited Holualoa several times for "staycation" and I adore the slow food Holuakoa Cafe, so I was so excited to see that the charming pink hotel across the street is in operation! It is super affordable, $65 a night for sweeping views of Kona and the panoramic coast line. Shared bathrooms didn't bother me for that price, but...

We loved this place! So nice not to stay in a generic hotel for a change. It was built in 1923, so it has some creaky floors and bathrooms are down the hall. Everything is spotlessly clean and comfortable. I felt like I was staying at my grandma's house. There was even soap and shampoo in the shower! The town...

My husband, daughter, and I have lived in Kona for almost 6 years, and we had to do an emergency "staycation" when our landlords lost their minds. We had to get out as quickly as possible. The problem is that we were looking for a place to live at the worst possible time of year because January and February are...

We have stayed here several times over the last 20 years, starting with our honeymoon. It's basic, quaint, and homey. We've had the same comfortable room each time. The window outside our room has no glass--inside and outside blend together here. Some of the residents seem to be family and some boarders, with just occasional tourists. At under $50/night, you...

To be honest we did not stay here! We stopped in to take a look around. It is old, decrepit, and need of repair but a lot of homes look like this in the area. Oceanview rooms were 55 and mountainside 45 a night. It looked like the owners also live here. The highlight for me was the view fro the...
