Perhaps Waimea is just expensive but we were very disappointed in our standard room which cost $140 after tax.Very small, very dated, VERY SPARTAN and no wifi available in our room. The staff were very apologetic and advised our room was scheduled for renovations next year. I was allowed sit in the dining room until 9:30 pm to use the... More

The Kamuela Inn is a great place as a low budget option for a stay in Waimea. Ask to stay in the updated rooms. We stayed in an updated room one day (which was great) and we stayed in a non-updated room the next day (which was really outdated).

Quiet, clean, beautiful setting & wonderful friendly staff. Close to shopping, restaurants & coffee shops & hiking trails close by. Excellent performing arts center in town with a great selection of acts & fabulous traditional Hawaiian singing, slack key guitar & ukulele.

Aloha Joe, Thank you for your thorough review. It gives other travelers a picture of our wonderful town and all that it has to offer. Our owner, Tim Bostock, was the creative mind behind Kahilu Theatre's 2016/17 Season. Thankfully, he is able to dedicate more time this year to our inn renovations, events and specials. Look forward to more great... More

Newly renovated room was awesome! The location of property was great. I would Recommend this property to all my friends and family. I liked complementary breakfast, scones and coffe were the best of all.

Mahalo Alohtreetrimmers! We love when our guests appreciate our complimentary breakfast. It's an amenity that most guests don't look for when shopping for hotels, but it really is a huge savings. Not only do you save $$, but you start your day off right, especially with our Roy's Kona Coffee blend...YUM!!! Visit us again soon, whether for business or pleasure,... More

The Inn is conveniently located, near restaurants and Long's and is a short walk to "town." While recognizing this is paniolo country, I prefer the previous motif. There was not sufficient light to read by (except in the bathroom); the light bulbs extended beyond the shade, so the bare bulb shone in your face. The complimentary breakfast was good and... More

If you're looking to spend time in a cozy Inn environment away from the typical big hotel tourist-type spot, THIS IS IT! Last time my family stayed at the Inn was about 10 yrs. ago. There are new owners now, and they've begun renovating the rooms and suites. We stayed in one of the older kitchenette suites with 3 beds... More

Aloha Kori, Thank you for choosing Kamuela Inn and for your wonderful review. Great suggestion about having an informative brochure about restaurants and grocery stores. I've seen little binders in B&B's, so why not here? We'll put something together in the new year! Please do visit again for the only Cherry Blossom Festival in Hawaii! It will not disappoint. Until... More

We were on a road trip and stayed here for it's proximity to Merryman's restaurant. The Inn is almost impossible to find from the street and we drove by several times before finding it. We had a tiny ensuite room with room for two single beds and bags on the floor. There were no facilities except for a tv and... More

Aloha RAKAustralia, Thank you for giving us a try. May I recommend staying in one of our larger, renovated rooms on your next visit? It sounds like you stayed in of our 1960's Superior rooms with twin beds, not my favorite, but it's perfect for the simple traveler that just needs a comfortable place to sleep. I agree, splurge on... More

Room was clean. Not enough power sockets. Television was tiny and the picture was even smaller in the screen. The room has a very bright night light that I had to remove and hide in a drawer. The good news is they are slowly updating rooms so they are trying to improve. I stayed in a room that was not... More

Mahalo Richard, Yes, we are renovating, not soon enough. As mentioned to another guest, our quaint Inn was built in the early 60's, when life was much slower and electronic devices were non-existent. As we renovate, we are adding more wall sockets and installing much larger, wall-mounted, SMART televisions with wi-fi! Please be patient and visit us again soon. Renovations... More

We were in one of the newly remodeled rooms and it was lovely. The shower was huge and the body was, shampoo and conditioner in the wall dispenser were fantastic. The breakfast was great, especially the poha berry butter and the blueberry scones. Will definitely encourage friends to try it out.
