Overall this place is an excellent value and was enjoyable except for one problem (see below). It's not near town or near the beach, but that's part of what keeps the price down - it's only a 10-15 minute drive to either, depending on traffic. The rooms are very clean and very well kept up - nothing broken or chipped...

We usually stay beachfront in the tropics, for sun time and snorkeling. My travel agent said on Kauai, the beaches are not necessarily the best part - you really should try this place in the mountains, and she was right! Yes, it does look like an ordinary neighborhood, but the drive up to this neighborhood is very scenic and passes...

A few things to know about the Hale Lani: * The home is in a suburban neighborhood like any other in the US. It’s like you drove down the street to stay at a friend’s house. Don’t expect a Hawaiian experience. * We never saw a mosquito during our week in Kauai (mid-July), but at the Hale Lani we encountered...

Our kids (7 & 9) had a great time playing with the dog. The hot tub was also a lot of fun for them. We are glad that the host changed water in the hot tub for new guests, which not all B&B's do. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Ruth and her husband was very...

We stayed in the cottage at Hale Lani for one week to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. This was our first trip to Kauai, and we agree that staying here really made the trip for us. Kauai is spectacular, and it was really wonderful to not stay at a resort. We felt like we were coming home at the end...

Hale Lani did not miss any details! We stayed in Lani's Studio for four nights. The room looked exactly like it did on line and was spotless. Upon check in there was a nice basket of snacks and bottled water in the fridge. There were dishes, saran wrap, baggies, and coffee/cream/sugar in the kitchenette. There was also a small fridge...

Hale Lani was our first experience on the sleepy town of Kapaa. We arrived after an 18 hour flight to find a very clean and welcoming room. The inn keeper met us (really found us and brought us) to our room. The scenery is amazing. The breakfast is eaven better! We spent the first four nights here and my newlywed...

We stayed at Hale Lani for 2 weeks, and had a great time. It is just off the Beach off the Kuhio Highway. We were a party of 9 with 4 children, and this was perfect. Great views of the Mountains of Bali Hi! Very comfortable, and lots of privacy. Will stay again!

This place is quite a bargain, but with that low price comes some quirks that would keep me from returning. First the good ... the rooms are very clean as is the outside property. We received a nice gift basket upon arrival. There are also beach supplies for guest use. The quirks ... there are weird little notes everywhere: don't...

Imagine going out the door and picking your own juicy limes from their trees to make an exotic before dinner mai tai ... or maybe a delectable juicy papaya for an impromptu snack before climbing into your private (just cleaned before each guest arrives) outdoor hot tub and gazing up at the billions of stars. This cozy B&B is high...

“For two people the one bed room is perfect. If you have kids or more than two adults you will want the two bed unit. The units can connect if you have a larger party.”
