If you want a quiet property, Old Hawaiian Style, stay here. If you want a bellboy looking for tips, loud party atmosphere, and room service.... Don't stay here. My sixth or seventh trip to the cottages and each time, does not disappoint. My biggest complaint is that the pillows are too puffy....

These cottages are a lovely getaway. They are close to some great hiking trails in the Waimeia Canyon, and are within walking distance to the restaurants and shops in Waimeia town. Some beautiful, uncrowded white sand beaches could be found to the West, and one could also drive East to Poipu for more "resorty" beaches. It took me about an...

wonderful setting, nicely appointed cottages, lots of privacy. Had the benefits of a resort, but was much more peaceful and secluded than most resorts. For getting away and enjoying a relaxing atmosphere we could not have hoped for any better experience.

We spent four nights in a quaint cottage just off the beach. Each morning I enjoyed coffee and the partial view of the ocean from our front porch. I liked to listen to the sound of the surf and the chickens that freely roamed the property. Out cottage was equipped with everything we needed and it was in good condition....

My son was married at this lovely locale in Waimea and most of us stayed right here in the variety of cottages provided. These cottages were phenomenal! Fully equipped like home, subject to fabulous breezes during the early winter months and could not have been a nicer place to stay. I enjoy having cooking facilities so I'm not always tied...

We stayed one week and used Waimea Plantation Cottages as a base. Loved the grounds, view, peaceful feeling and the freedom of our "home". Close to Waimea Canyoun and the south beaches. Would return anytime.

Our cottage was on the rustic side, but comfortable and clean with excellent beach access. We stayed three quiet, snug nights and spend time on the beach. Didn't use many of the amenities, but there is a pool, chairs and hammocks along the beach and a large grass interior space suitable for frisbee and other games. An excellent alternative to...

Very nice cottages in a peaceful setting. We stayed in #49 which faced the ocean. It was great to hear the surf. Basic amenities but fully-furnished kitchen including a blender for drinks on the lanai. Shower was adequate. Bed a little soft. One drawback that you eventually get used to is the roosters crowing at night. They definitely do not...

Mahalo for contributing your review. Yes, each of our cottages comes with a feathered alarm clock that seems to go off whether you'd like it to or not. We think of it as our reminder to get out there and seize the day. We are glad to hear that you had an enjoyable stay and found some peaceful relaxation time....

If you want to feel like Hawaii probably used to feel before it was over-run by fancy resorts and theme park amenities, this place is for you. Close to hiking, easy walk to Waimea (a historic town), excellent beach.

Waimea Plantation Cottages are lovely. They provide a lovely peaceful relaxing environment. The cottages are rustic, so if you are expecting something new remodeled this probably isn't the place for you, but the cottages are clean and comfortable and provide all the amenities needed. It's only steps to the beach (although it's not a beach that is suitable for swimming,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Private, individual plantation cottages set on a historic 27-acre coconut plantation in a beachside setting close to Kauai's famous Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon. Each self-contained cottage has been fully restored with modern appliances, full kitchens, and amenities. The simple, comfortable charm, genuine history and beautiful grounds allow guests to enjoy a unique experience unlike any other in the islands. Waimea Plantation Cottages offers beautiful settings for Wedding Celebrations, Anniversaries, Family Reunions, and Corporate Business meetings. Note: The restaurant will be closed temporarily as we remodel and transition the restaurant to a new restaurant operator and will re-open in mid-to-late fall of 2013. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience. During this transition, we suggest trying some of the other dining options in Waimea Town such as Wrangler's Steak House. But do come and try our new restaurant once it reopens! ... more   less
