My son, his friend and I stayed in the Haleakala suite in December 2021. Two bedrooms, full kithcen and living area. Very quiet and clean. Had a nice tray of breakfast foods and snacks when we arrived, clean linens, towerls, beach chairs, beach towels. They also have laundry facilities which was awesome. Went to Haiku Market to stock up on food and cooked, ate in and were able to use cooler provided to pack lunches. Enjoyed using BBQ to cook and eat outside at night. Since it was December, any good snorkeling was on the South or West side of Maui and that was a minimum 1 hour drive to get to. This is not the fault of the hosts; I should have really thought about whether it made sense for me to do that much driving versus staying on the West side where I could walk to snorkeling in December. Since I have chronic pain issues, the driving to get anywhere was too much for me. My son and his friend are also gamers and our internet did not work when it rained and I heard a lot of complaints about this. Folks who are not addicted to being on computers (or who do not need access to email 24 hours per day like I do for my job) will not care about this at all but I am sharing our experience. We did enjoy see turtles basking on local beaches and went on a lovely visit to Haleakala where it had snowed. If you want to see places along the Road to Hana, then this is an ideal place to stay. Since it is so quiet, I would suggest that perhaps hosts leave some board games in the suite for folks to use.…
Lovely quiet place. My dad and I stayed in the ground floor two bedroom unit and it was perfect for us. Clean and comfortable, not too fancy. Thoughtful touches in the kitchen and bathroom like popcorn and after sun lotion were a nice surprise. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when back in Maui.
We love this place for what it has and mostly for what it does not have. It is a secluded retreat in the rain forest on the slopes of Haleakala. Well-appointed fully furnished suites hidden away from the crowds. Great place and a great price, especially for Maui. What it does not have that makes it even more special for us? No beach, no young families, no kiddie pool, in fact no pool, no concierge, no front desk, no room service, no restaurant, no cheesy luaus. FYI - Paia and Haiku have some of the best restaurants on the island and the beach is a 5 minute drive. This is our third stay here and we are sold on Bamboo Valley Inn for our future visits.
The stay here was a definite highlight of our trip. We travelled with our adult son and this provided a great space to relax in after a day in Maui. Being close to the road to Hana and Haleakala National Park was a nice plus. Beds were really comfortable, place was clean, there was an outside shower, grill and laundry facilities. Beach chairs and towels, a cooler and boogie boards were also provided. A tray with coffee, tea and breakfast snacks was provided and the kitchen is well equipped. Overall a great place to stay!
My husband and I and our adult son stayed in a two bedroom suite which was very comfortable and clean. It was a real home-away-from-home with a full kitchen and barbecue so that we could do our own meals. There was even a cooler available for packed lunches - great for a trip to the volcano where there are no eating facilities. The rainforest was peaceful so that we could enjoy the sounds of the birds and relax on the lanai. Owners Tom and Vicki were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Tom told us his horse likes bamboo, but we found out he likes carrots too!
