Beautiful resort for couples, friends, or families. We were a family of four and enjoyed using the ocean pool, pool bar, morning yoga, and 3 hole chipping/putting green. We had a garden view room with 2 queens and was spacious for all 4 of us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Staff and Service is impeccable, highly recommend.
A massive ocean front property on Maui’s rugged windward (east) side. It takes a good hours (two amazing hours - pack a lunch, go slow & enjoy the trip - please don’t forget to pull over and let the locals pass :) - to drive from Kahului airport along a very windy road. The resort is set up for families & active travelers. 2 pools (open 24 hrs), hiking, biking, tennis, small golf area, basketball, tennis, yoga, small workout & more. Staff is friendly and helpful, FYI - Maui has ever changing COVID restrictions in place. Currently only 1 restaurant (Ranch Restaurant) open & will deliver to room. The gift shop (currently open 10-2) has some snacks & pool bar also has a small menu. Property has incredible location in the middle of Hana town. Multiple food carts & 2 small stores within 5 min walk. Hana Farms (Bamboo Hale) doing pizzas again Friday & Saturday 12-8. The ocean in front of resort is beautiful but rough. Several sand beaches within a few minutes drive. Currently no hotel services are being offered at Hamoa Beach. Who should stay here: People who want to get away from it all Active Travelers Families Honeymooners Who should not stay here: People looking for night life People looking for a controlled environment (it’s the jungle, it rains, there’s bugs, NO AC, NO TV, etc.) People wanting typical resort experience (fine dining, shopping, etc.)…
Absolutely lovely 3 night stay at the beautiful Hana Maui over Christmas. We arrived in Maui at 4pm on Dec 22nd and rather than hit the road as if gets dark early in Winter we decided to stay by the airport for the first night - so that we could take our time, get some provisions (aka wine, vodka and snacks!!) have a yummy breakfast at the outdoor gazebos of the Kula Lodge and head out for a gorgeous afternoon drive on the road to Hana. Since we were staying for 3 nights we decided not to stop anywhere along the way and just get to the hotel early to take it all in. We were able to check in ahead of the regular check in time which was nice. Bobby drove us and our luggage to our Ocean Bungalow - which was absolutely perfect. Wow - what a view. Just stunning. Yes the rooms are a bit dated (but there is a renovation planned since the new Hyatt management has taken over). I’m sure they will be gorgeous. I didn’t mind the decor - it felt shabby chic Hawaii style. The main pool is an amazing spot to just relax. The staff at the pool bar are great - friendly and accommodating. We had several meals at the Hana Ranch (the Preserve restaurant was closed while we visited prob due to low occupancy?) and everything was delicious. I don’t think we had a bad meal whether it was on site or at the food trucks just outside. My husband took advantage of the Peleton to get his Christmas Day badge, the fitness center also has a nice little pool. My husband and son also played a little pitch and putt golf. While we didn’t play tennis - it looked like people were also enjoying the courts. We did take the bicycles for a spin around the property as well which was fun. This is a resort and there are plenty of things to do just around the property to have some fun. The yoga audio is a beautiful space w amazing views to start your morning. We also did a Christmas morning hike at sunrise to the top of Fegans Cross which takes about 20 mins just above the property. Speaking of sunrises - WOW just wow the sunrises are amazing!!! Especially if you have an Ocean Bungalow. It’s such an amazing way to start the day. Unfortunately the Hana Ranch horses were not available for rides while we stayed - I did see the horse and they were SO friendly I really need to go back one day just to ride the horses! I think I could have stayed longer than 3 nights to be honest. I just found this resort completely relaxing and rejuvenating. Hana itself is such a gem it doesn’t make sense to me to drive in and out the same day and rush around trying to see everything. Why not stay - at least 3 nights!!! You won’t regret it.…
My husband and I stayed here on our first trip to Maui 17 years ago! Fast forward to 2021, we finally made it back with our kids in tow. Our stay was as good as we remembered. Angelo and Bobby provided a very positive first impression to us. That set the tone for the remainder of our three night stay. Bobby drove us and our belongings to our room (even detouring to the parking lot to pick up my husband! He gave us a tour of the property and answered all of our questions. Angelo recommended that we watch the sunrise from Fagan’s Cross. We took that advice, and it was a very memorable experience that was worth the hike! He also saved the day by giving us a lighter so we could celebrate our son’s birthday with a candle. All of the staff members at the reception desk were friendly and knowledgeable. Although we did not opt for housekeeping during our stay, our room was impeccably clean at check in. The pool area was very clean and a lot of fun for our kids. We appreciated the use of the complimentary laundry facility. Overall, we felt quite safe here during the pandemic. The resort was clean, and staff members were all masked. Hana is our favorite town on Maui. The people who drive through Hana on a day trip fail to experience the sheer beauty and stillness. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. Cannot wait for our next visit!…
I am a Hyatt Globalist and used combo points/cash to stay here to avoid driving the Road to Hana in one day. The staff are friendly and accommodated all our requests. Expansive grounds and beautiful suites. Other guests crowded in the jacuzzi so we avoided that area. There’s only one restaurant so it gets busy and can be slow but overall we really enjoyed our stay.
