The Cultural center is great. The Staff especially the bell staff were wonderful, they went above and beyond. The room was cute, a garden view with a little patio. Our only issues were that the room shower needed a hand held sprayer, being by the beach we couldn't get the sand off mainly because their beach/pool showers didn't have enough force to blast it off. A towel hook fell off the wall and hit my husband in the head while he was on the toilet. There appeared to have been attempts to fix it before, but not well. Other than that, it's a nice hotel- the look is the most authentic Hawaiian hotel we stayed at during our 3 weeks on the islands.

If you want a comfortable and affordable place to stay (relative to the other hotels in the area) with a warm, relaxing atmosphere, then this is a great hotel choice. Included as part of your stay are free events that teach about various Hawaiian traditions, native plants, songs, and Hawaiian culture. The lei ceremony at the end of our trip was very moving and I highly recommend attending a free event while you are staying there. If you want a hotel experience that embraces authentic and historical Hawaiian culture or would like something different than the standard chain hotels, that this a great option. The views are amazing, the hotel restaurant is delicious and located right next to the ocean and all of the staff were super friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our experience. …

If you’re looking for luxury this is not the place. The rooms need to be renovated and our carpet always felt damp. We only needed to stay somewhere for 1 night so we could manage but I would not have stayed here longer. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels on Kaanapali Beach though. It is right in the middle of the action so location is awesome. Easy to walk to Whalers Village with many stores and dining options.

We spent a week in Maui to celebrate my son’s 1st birthday. Ka’anapali beach hotel provided a beautiful location and friendly, memorable staff. Parking was affordable at the rate of $20 a night. However rooms were outdated (unless you reserved a premium ocean view room) and we had issues with our hotel fridge as well as AC. Our fridge was replaced but still did not get super cold. At times our hotel room smelled like smoke due to neighbors smoking on the balcony. After reporting it to staff our room no longer smelled like smoke. Because of our family needs we will likely stay somewhere with a full kitchen next visit. However the cultural center and ocean activities staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. We appreciate the Aloha they extended to us.

Wonderful trip to take my parents ashes to where they wanted to spend the rest of their lives. The resort is top notch but it is the people that make the experience so much more. I now see better why my parents loved this place and I believe my kids do as well. They, and I, can't wait to come back!!

Most of the 5 star reviews have said it already-so I say ditto to those! I would add that HuiHui was a great place to eat-when we arrived, we had just missed happy hour, so we sat at the tables at the bar and soaked up the view with a couple of drinks. We ordered an early dinner, our waiter recommended a pasta dish with shrimp, and suggested the black tiger shrimp so we wouldn't need to peel them-excellent suggestion, and a truly excellent dish. We enjoyed our stay immensely-our last night, I did a littles snorkeling at Black Rock beach-wished I had my camera with me. Very clear water, beautiful fish!! Highly recommend this place!!

I chose to stay here at KBH because it was walking distance to the bars and restaurants. Although I rented a car, I did not have to drive back to the hotel. I walked along the boardwalk and enjoyed the fantastic views.

Clean rooms and staff that really exemplified the spirit of aloha. The dining options were a bit pricey, but overall were fairly good. Dining at HuiHui was expensive but the food was delicous! The cheaper on-resort eating options were less expensive but more disappointing in terms of value. The cultural center in the lobby was a welcome treat that takes "the Most Hawaiian Hotel" seriously, and we highly recommend attending one of their ceremonies.

Our only “fly in the ointment” was a worn out lanai access door (slider). This was the original wing and will probably get renovated soon. Other than that, our stay was EXCELLENT! Had a fantastic stay! The staff and facility lived up to recommendations! We’d highly reco this place!

Hotel was super clean and hotel staff were all awesome to work with and very friendly! Many things to do right there at the resort! They even offer free classes each day that are perfect for every day! The beach was the best and renting the cabanas was definitely worth the money!
