Just returned from seven days in Maui and am missing every bit of it. As a solo traveler, I found the Pioneer Inn to be perfect for my needs. The ability to walk to stores and restaurants was a plus. I ate at a different place every night! I rented a car for four days and there is convenient parking across the street from the hotel that is free. The ferry to Lanai is right in front of the hotel along with multiple boats departing on excursions. Baby beach is about a 15 minute walk and Kaanapili beach is a about a 10-15 minute Lyft ride. The staff was super friendly and always helpful! I would say the only drawback is the rooms are a little outdated and small but if you aren't spending time in the room then that shouldn't matter. Note, that if you are light sleeper, the ac units in the room are on the loud side. The toiletries are scant so be advised you will have to hit up the Safeway or Food Lion for shampoo, conditioner, etc. With all that said, I would stay at the Best Western again. Hoping to get back to Maui sooner rather than later.…
The Pioneer Inn is a perfect find in Lahaina. We had been going for breakfast for many years and decided to experience the hotel. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the exceptional front desk clerk, we knew we made a great choice. The Inn has the perfect location on Front St. Our room (#49) was on the second floor with a very large wrap around balcony, 2 rocking chairs and was the perfect spot to people watch. We got take out and ate several meals on the balcony enjoying the activity on the street below. The room was a decent size (the Inn is the oldest in Hawaii), the bathroom was well appointed, air conditioning worked properly and the bed was comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We always loved the Pioneer Grill in past years but we must say, the new restaurant (first floor facing the harbor) is AMAZING! We enjoyed two breakfasts and lunch there. The new chef has raised the bar exceptionally high, and the staff is top notch. The fruit plate is a work of art. The Ocean Breakfast Bowl and the Crispy Noodle Bowl were favorites! If you are considering time in Lahaina, enjoy a stay at this quaint, historical, and professionally run Inn! Hats off to the staff!!…
Can’t complain every body was very nice and friendly love the little town Lahaina live the hotel location close to restaurants and shopping area as well the church, I will recommend it to go? My only suggestion will be to have an elevator for elders can’t walk upstairs but overall experience was very good
Lovely hotel right in the center of Lahaina next to the famous Banyan tree in the park across the way. Very clean, nice size rooms, and the balcony was fantastic with two rocking chairs to relax in and a table too. Great place to just sit and watch the world go by. The swimming pool within the hotel courtyard was an added bonus with fresh pool towels also. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
This is a very well kept plantation style hotel. The entrance is a little hard to find as it’s on the back side from the Main Street, and there is wharf construction there as well. ( no noise though😁). All of the room are on the second floor, which means all luggage is being carried up the stairs, no lift to elevator. The rooms are neat and clean but not a lot of extra floor space. It has a window box AC unit which keeps the room cool. The large balcony overlooking the street and park with a HUGE banyan tree provided hours of pleasure watching people and sun sets. There is an well shaded open courtyard inside and a nice little ( not heated) pool. A very nice place in the heart of “front street” in Lahaina.
