Hale Kai is a magic little condo complex, it is right next door to a park and across the street from a market and they have gas grills with a great view... There is even a colony of sea turtles that live right off shore and come to visit. We have stayed here several times over the years along with...

I really enjoyed my trip to Maui in late February, 2016 and our stay at Hale Kai #205. I was pleasantly surprised to have walking access to the Farmer's Market and good coffee during our stay. There's also just a panoply of really good food options in Honokowai and Napili. While the unit may be a tad dated (I'm thinking...

When you stay at the Hale Kai you become part of the ohana(family) . We stayed in #213 and as always was wonderful. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, bath and living area. The whales and turtles are wonderful to watch sitting pool side. Evening sunset gathering to blow the conch is wonderful.

Aloha Ruth, Thanks for sharing your feedback and for your continuous patronage. The whales and turtles right in front of the property are truly a sight to behold, whether by the oceanfront pool or right from our lanai. We'll look forward to hosting you again next year. We stayed in room 217. The condo is small, but has everything you need. Parking out front and the pool and ocean in the back. The condo was clean with a full kitchen with small living room. While it was a little cluttered with the amount of furniture, it fit our family of three very well (teenager on the couch)....

I stayed in Hale Kai 208 for 13 nights in December 2015. Unit was exactly as advertised - small but right on the beach, looking onto a park, across from a handy coffee shop and farmer's market, great access to two beaches, turtle and whale sightings daily, nice little oceanfront pool, A/C upstairs, wifi - lots of great things! I...

Honokowai is a great location in west Maui - ~15 min from Lahaina, and quiet if you're not in the big resorts - Hale Kai is definitely not one of those. We stayed in #104, which has a patio right on Honokowai beach park. It's not as private as those units whose patios are on the pool, but you get...

We love this complex and have stayed twice now. Super well located for all kinds of activities. Our unit this time had an exceptional view, but is in great need of updating. Kitchen is not very functional: dishwasher not working, fridge somewhat broken, etc. Also very cramped feeling due to over-furnishing. We would stay again at Hale Kai, but not...

A great location. Sandy beach for ocean swimming or snorkelling just steps from the pool area. Only about 40 units so it didn't feel busy. About a 15 minute drive from Front Street, which is perfect! I understand some condos are more upgraded than others so do your research.

This will be our second time in #108 and the only reason we returned to this unit was for an additional guest and the price. First, the location of Hale Kai is remarkable. It is in Honokowai, which is a pleasant community. The property is well kept up and clean. The pool (right on the ocean) is a bonus. Having...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hale Kai means "Home by the Sea" in Hawaiian, and we are well named since we're located right on the West Maui coastline where we feature scenic views of Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi directly offshore. Conveniently situated midway between the Ka'anapali and Kapalua resort areas, we're just a 10-15 minute drive from most any West Maui attraction. We are located in real community with a local park, a thrice weekly Farmers' Market, and numerous, reasonably priced stores and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. Come stay with us and know what it is to have lived Hawaii instead of merely visited there! ... more   less
