I was very apprehensive about staying at a camp ground when coming to Maui. I will say that I enjoyed this experience at Camp Olowalu! The grounds are beautiful with a picturesque view of the mountains on one side and the beach on the other....More
I just returned from a Hawaiian paradise vacation and happily stayed in the tentalows at Camp Olowalu. This was one of the most fun experiences I've had while staying away on vacation. My tentalow was exceptionally clean, the sheets smelled great, the breeze blowing into...More
My boyfriend spent 8 nights, just got back 3/29. The campgrounds were clean, bathrooms and showers were amazing. A very short walk to the parking lot, but had a wagon available to haul gear. Internet was available at the main check in area. Lounge chairs...More
Excellent Campground. Clean bathrooms, and flush toilets. Overall, excellent facilities. We will definitely visit again. A little pricier than other campgrounds on Maui, but you get what you pay for. The Staff was very helpful.
Camp Olowalu was our last stop in Maui. We were tent camping all over Maui and very happy to end it here. We were very excited to see the flush toilets and warm showers, which were very clean.

We had no problems with security at all. In fact, I often left my camera gear in the tentalow. We regularly left our laptop and tablets in the tentalow. Nothing was ever touched and never saw any evidence that anyone had been in our tent when we were out. I don't think there were any long term/permanent campers there. The tent camping is right beside the ocean and often at night we would go for a walk and most weekday evenings it was vacant except campers who we knew were with the camp.
Felt very safe the whole two weeks we stayed!
